Chapter 739 Grown Ups
Brandon answered the phone. As soon as he heard what the caller had to say, he stood up from the
sofa angrily.
"How did this happen? Where''s the technician on duty tonight?"
J wanted to say something, but then she stopped on second thought.
She could tell that Brandon was having a hard time running thepany all by himself.
Garrett and Charis, the two senior executive members of the Larson Group, no longer worked there.
Brandon hadn''t found any reliable recements to take over the important issues of thepany.
Brandon had to bounce between the head office and the branch office these days, yet he still
managed to spare some time to be with her.
Thinking about this, J held back what she wanted to say.
"What happened?" she asked with concern.
"Nothing to trouble you with. I''ve asked the technician to take care of it." After putting the phone
down, Brandon sighed wearily.
When he turned to look at J, his expression softened and he pulled her into his arms. "Don''t
worry. I''ll investigate who did this. And I''ll assign more bodyguards to you."
J sighed, nestled in Brandon''s arms. Being this close to Brandon made her feel inexplicably
safe and rxed.
"Don''t worry too much about this, okay? I have a feeling that whoever''s behind this will definitely
strike again. In fact, I look forward to seeing her."
No matter who was after them, J was sure that she could handle it.
Even if it was really Charis''s ghost who hade back to haunt her, she wasn''t afraid. After all, she
didn''t do anything wrong. What would she be afraid of?
Hearing this, Brandon thought that J just meant that she didn''t want any bodyguards around
her.
He knew that J liked keeping a low profile. It was only natural she didn''t want to be followed,
especially to her workce.
Cupping J''s face in his hands, Brandon exined patiently, "If you feel restrained by those
bodyguards, I''ll tell them not to follow you so closely. They''ll keep their distance."
J had told him previously that the old Brandon had secretly hired Laney, who posed as J''s
friend, to protect her. He didn''t want to make the same mistake and wanted to be transparent with
J now.
"Actually, it''s fine. It''s not a big deal, really." J shook her head. "I realized that nothing''s more
important than being with you safe and sound. Trust me. I will be responsible for both myself and
you."
Brandon looked at her with newfound respect. "My, my, you''re all grown up now." As he spoke, he
sighed and stroked her hair gently.
J pursed her lips and looked up at Brandon inquisitively.
He didn''t look any different from before, but she felt that something had changed. "What''re you
talking about? I''m the same old me."
"I just get the feeling that you lived a simple and carefree life before. Now, you''re burdened with so
many things..." Brandon''s eyes were full of affection and sympathy. "But I promise you, J, I''ll
regain my memories. I don''t want to miss anything about you. You''re very precious to me."
A lump formed in J''s throat. She smiled, eyes glistening with tears.
Brandon sounded so sincere. In the past, he seldom spoke out his feelings like this. It never
urred to J that he valued their rtionship that much.
It was this rtionship that made them both grow up.

But getting Brandon''s memory back was no easy feat, and J was afraid to hope. After all, the
higher the expectation, the more disappointed one might be in the end.
J wanted to brighten up the gloomy atmosphere, so she snorted sardonically. "You don''t know
how stupid I was before. I used to have a sister who always bullied me. And I never had the balls to
stand up to her untilter."
"Really? What happened?" Brandon asked, his eyes lighting up in intrigue.
The two sat on the sofa as J recounted what had happened before with the Lind family, all the
way until she met Brandon.
As she talked away, she also made up her mind to protect Brandon and help him regain their
memories.
