Chapter 436: Yet Another Brutal Beating


    Qi Hongan, the headmaster of the Flying Frost Pavilion, was also the grandmaster’s direct disciple. He nodded repeatedly in response to the old man’s query. “Yes, I did it for the Flying—”


    A “bang” interrupted his exnation. The Advanced-stage Spiritual King, Qi Hongan, wasunched flying through the air and crashed into the wall. A crack divided the wall in two at the point of the impact. He vomited a mouthful of blood and looked up,pletely puzzled. “Master?”


    He hadn’t said anything wrong; why did his master beat him up?


    “Brat! You dare to deceive your master andmit treason?” The old man roared in sudden anger. He jumped forward, dragging Qi Hongan from the wall and throwing him to the ground. Then he used his fists to pummel him repeatedly. “Deceive your master andmit treason! Deceive your master andmit treason! Deceive your master andmit treason!”


    Every loud echo of his powerful fist was followed by stunned cries of pain.


    The crowdpsed into silence at this surprising act of violence. What was going on? Why did the grandmaster suddenly start beating up the headmaster?


    Feng Tian also raised her eyebrows in surprise, although it was oddly satisfying to watch Qi Hongan get beaten up!


    The old man thrashed him for a full half-hour. Then he stood up, anger spent, and adjusted his ruffled clothes, returning once more to his prior sage-like appearance. He turned his cold gaze on Qi Shujie.


    Qi Shujie backed away in fear. But before he could say a word, he found himself flying into the air.


    Bang!


    A loud crash reverberated through the Martial Training Square as Qi Shujiended on top of Qi Hongan. His blood burned in his veins and he vomited out a mouthful of it, eyes rolling up, head swimming. He almost passed out.


    “Grand...Grandmaster!” Tu Xiupei was the old man’s next target and her voice trembled in fear as she met his gaze. This old man must be a fake pretending to be the grandmaster; why else would he start beating up his own disciples?


    “Deceive your master andmit treason, and I will disable your Cinnabar field.” The old man grunted to himself. He unleashed his spiritual force and directed it at Tu Xiupei. It was definitely she who nned the mischief that resulted in the suggestion to disable his master’s Cinnabar field!


    If his master’s Cinnabar field and spiritual force were disabled, how would he ever learn Pill Refining from her?


    Facing the spiritual force barreling towards her, Tu Xiupei felt real terror grip her. The grandmaster was seriously nning to disable her Cinnabar field. That must not happen! She grabbed the nearest person and used her as a shield against the overwhelming spiritual force.


    “Yunzhu!” Feng Tian’s eyes widened. With no time to waste, she reflexively threw herself in front of Luo Yunzhu.


    “Master!” The old man’s expression changed when he saw Tu Xiupei drag someone in front of her, then his master lunging forward to protect her. He immediately swung his hand and redirected his spiritual energy to the side.


    Qi Hongan, who had gotten up and begun to sneak up from behind to save Tu Xiupei, was sent flying by this side st of spiritual energy. “Master!”


    “Master! Are you alright? I did not mean to do that.” Feng Tian was affected by the spiritual force anyway because it was very strong, and she vomited a mouthful of blood that sttered onto the old man. He regretted this immediately and yearned to cut off his own hands for hurting his master.

    The old man sensed a fluctuation in spiritual forces. Instinctively, he halted that spiritual force and reversed the attack. Tu Xiupei was sent flying into the air instead.


    Tu Xiupei crashed onto the ground and vomited blood. “Grandmaster... Why are you on the outsider’s side, bullying your grand-disciple?” she ignored the pain and stood up, using the old man.


    “This woman...”


    Feng Tian pushed Tu Xiupei back. Her phoenix eyes glowed a menacing red as she stepped forward with deliberate slowness. She gritted her teeth and spoke each word carefully, “I have said this before, Tu Xiupei, do not touch my people.”


    Tu Xiupei’s sneak attack from behind was not just intended for her. It would have killed Luo Yunzhu as well and that was something Feng Tian absolutely couldn’t condone!


    “What do you n to do, Feng Tian? This is the Flying Frost Pavilion.” Tu Xiupei saw the murderous intent in her eyes and felt a stab of fear in her heart. She nced at the old man with tearful eyes, pleading, “Grandmaster! Save me! She’s going to kill me.”
