to stay in. It must’ve cost too much. But, on the other hand, that house looks quite huge, so he could’ve
just given me a room there.”
“Um, Master Nichs has many houses like this all over Southend.”
What Sally meant was that Nichs didn’t buy this manor, especially to meet J’s needs.
J understood that, of course. Her gaze darkened, an unnamed fire burning bright in her chest.

“Good, have the servants there take good care of her,” Nichs said indifferently, without any intention
to ask about J herself.

Besides, Nichs had done what he could to take care of J, so he had already done his best, and

Edward nodded in confirmation when he heard that, then changed the subject to work-rted matters.
After Nichs settled the matters Edward reported, he changed the topic and asked, “Tessa will be
performing at the end of this month, and I’ve asked you to spare some of my time around that time.
How is the arrangement going?”
“The arrangements are allpleted. So, you don’t have to worry.” Edward smiled as he replied. In his
heart, however, he was amazed at how huge a change Nichs had gone through after getting
together with Tessa.
