cooperated and left.
Before long, only Hathaway and Tessa were left backstage.
Hathaway walked up to Tessa and asked apologetically, “Can we talk?”
Tessa expected this to happen, so she nodded.
The two went into the theater room, where Hathaway poured Tessa a ss of water before getting
down to business.
“Tessa, I know Kathleen crossed the line this time, but the orchestra can’t go on without her, especially
now that the performance is about to begin. As concertmaster of the orchestra, Kathleen cannot be
absent.”
When she heard Hathaway’s words, she had an unpleasant feeling in her heart,
