Hearing those words, Stephan’s expression remained calm and unreadable. His emotions were impossible to discern, leaving Stanley instinctively holding his breath He didn’t dare to look up or make a sound.
Stephan said lightly, “Bring him here.”
H
stephan had previously mentioned wanting to interrogate the man personally. However, since the captive was still in the
in the custody of the Special Operations Unit, their initial questioning had only scratched the surface. Stephan was far from satisfied.
The results were inefficient, and what they had extracted was far from end
Stanley immediately made arrangements. Half an hourter, the robed man was brought into the Russell residence’s secret underground chamber with his face covered
Before he was forced into a chair, the robed man was still sneering, speaking with a provocative tone. He assumed this was another tactic by the Special Operations Unit to break him and taunted, “I’ve already said everything I know. What now? Are you going to resort to illegal methods?
Those words barely left his mouth when the cloth covering his face was yanked off.
What greeted his eyes was a dimly lit underground chamber. The stack light illuminated his surroundings. He saw the grim electric chair he was strapped into, a his hands and feet were tightly restrained. Around the room, racks lined with an array of menacing tools glinted under the light.
The robed man froze. His usualposure cracked for just a moment as his pupils shrank in shock. “Where am I? What are you nning to do?
He scanned the faces of the people standing around him. None of them were familiar to him.
Each one was cold and expressionless, standing tall with an air of disciplined precision. They were clearly well–trained, their presence suffused with danger. But these weren’t the people from the Special Operations Unit
In their custody, the robed man had been fearless. He took full advantage of their restraint, confident they wouldn’t cross the line. He even had the nerve to to with and mock them
But now, things were different.
“You’re not from the Special Operations Unit! Where’s Michael? Where’s Captain Cortez? I want to see him! Take me to him!”
He struggled and yelled angrily, panic setting in as he realized something was wrong. Then, the faint sound of footsteps came from the long staircase leading int the chamber. The steady rhythm of leather shoes tapping on the floor reverberated.
The sound was like a death knell to the robed man.
As the figure descended, his shadow stretched long across the room, When the man finally came into full view, the robed man’sposurepletely shattered. His face turned ashen, and his pupils were filled with shock and terror.
“Mr. Russell?–
The realization let him like a sledgehammer. He would never have imagined, not in his wildest dreams, that the person behind his transfer to this ce was Stephan Russell himself.
After a moment of stunned silence, his mind raced. He forced a weak, ingratiating su
smile as he stammered, “M–Mr. Rusell! To what do I owe this… honor?”
Stephan approached step by step, exuding the icy dominance of someone with absolute power with a bone–chilling smirk, he asked, “You dared to threaten me and now, you’re asking why I’m here?”
Although Johanna was the one who made the call to Imogen, the culprit behind the entire scheme and the venomous tied to this robed mai

smug grin froze as he scrambled to deflect the me. “Mr. Russell, this must be a misunderstanding… It’s all that bastard, Pete’s,
Stephan scoffed coldly. “Fine, I’ll give you une chance. Tell me everything you know, or else…”
He didn’t finish the sentence, but Stanley, always attentive, flipped the switch on the electric chair.
The robed man didn’t have time to thank before the first jolt of electricity surged through him. The pungent smell of something burning began to fill th
till the air.
The robed man was convulsing violently. It was only when the pain slowly subsided that he realized he wouldn’t escape unscathed. Stephan wanted information, and if he didn’t give it, his suffering would only intensity. This was a fate worse than death!
