Return of the Crowned Heiress Chapter 589

As Stanley had expected, there really was a traitor in their midst!

But who would’ve thought the traitor to be Archie?

He was a man who had been presumed dead, but he had been skulking in the shadows, scheming endlessly. He had to be tired of living!

“Keep an eye on him. See if anyone else besides the Carrell family is involved,” Stephan saidzily, flexing his wrist with a casual air. “Also, spread the word that I’m gravely ill from poisoning and barely clinging to life.”

Stephan nned tomit to his act to the very end.

The small fry had been reeled in, but the bigger fish behind them had yet to surface.

“As youmand, Mr. Russell,” Stanley lowered his head respectfully and prepared to leave.

“Wait.” Stephan called him back and added, “Keep the news from Khogend. Don’t let Felicia know about this.”

    “Yes, sir!”

    With that, Stanley departed.

Stephan nced at his phone, which disyed several messages and missed calls from Felicia

He hadn’t replied to a single one over the past few days. Would she be angry?

He clicked his tongue, knowing full well she would most definitely be angry. Then, he sighed, pondering how he could make amends after removing the mole and dealing with the troublemakers.

    Would kneeling do the trick?

A faint smile yed across Stephan’s lips. His thumb gently traced Felicia’s name on the screen. The icy chill in his eyes softened into tendemess.

But in the next moment, someone approached timidly, breaking his reverie. Stephan lifted his gaze, and the frost in his gaze returned. His eyes gleamed with a sharp, cold menace.

    “Are you asking to die?”

“M–Mr. Russell,” the nervous speaker stammered. It was the elderly doctor from the medical team.

Under Stephan’s piercing gaze, the elderly doctor trembled as he pointed to the IV bottle on the ground. “Mr. Russell, should I have this tested to determine the polson used?”

    “Alright”

Stephan wasn’t bothered to do so initially, but after a moment’s thought, he agreed. It would serve as evidence, after all.

He only hoped that when he showed it to Imogen, she wouldn’t let love blind her to the truth.

When Archie approached Imogen back then, his intentions had been dubious from the start. Even the so–called ident where Imogen fell into the water might have been orchestrated.

    What a perfect damsel–in–distress setup.

And yet, Imogen had fallen for it, wholeheartedly believing in Archie and tirelessly endorsing him. She had given him chance after chance to rise to prominence.

If not for Imogen’s intervention, Stephan would never have entrusted Archie with any significant responsibilities.

A man who should have died six months ago suddenly reappeared when trouble struck the Russell family, armed with an impable cover story. How could that not arouse suspicion?

Stephan had already doubted if Archie really died back then, and with a bit of balting, Archie really reappeared!

It was now clear that Archie’s aim was to eliminate Stephan and seamlessly take control of the Russell family. He dreamed of bing the inaster.

How delusional of him. Who gave him the gall to even dream of such? Was it the Carrell family?

He sure was an ignorant fool.
