Chapter 730 Why Should I Help You
Skr''s schedule was jam-packed as the end of the year approached. She had been traveling to
various cities to promote the movie. Reporters repeatedly brought up her rtionship with Marcus,
so she had to rify the situation patiently.
Although she had been in Bellridge the previous day, she hadnded in Gerton and was staying in
Seasons Hotel for thest promotional activity of The Bad of 1978 that night. After getting off the
stage, she didn''t want to say anything because she was exhausted.
In a restaurant at the hotel, Skr chose a table near the windows. The dinner buffet wasvish, but
she only chose a small piece of sea salt cheesecake. Due to exhaustion, she had lost her appetite.
She used to long to travel to other cities but couldn''t afford the transportation and lodging costs.

Now that she finally had the chance to travel, she was too tired and preferred to stay in bed.
Marcus sat opposite Skr, holding a te of meat. With his long legs stretched out from under the
table, he could easily trip someone passing by.
Skr cut a small piece of her cake with a golden fork and stated, “Don''t you have a sense of
decency? Are you trying to show off your long legs?”
Only then did Marcus retract his legs and sit properly. “Why are you eating so little? Are you trying
to look like a skeleton?”
Skr scanned her surroundings and noticed a few people staring at Marcus and her. She had tried
to keep her distance from Marcus, but he would always approach her eagerly.
“If I were trying to look like a skeleton, I would have taken a te of broli. Why would I eat
cake?”
Marcus stared at her and thought her fair neck was missing something.
He took a rectangr box from his pocket and ced it in front of Skr. “As a producer, I''m
generous to my crew members. This is a gift for you. You can open it and have a look. It''s not
something valuable, and it''s far less than what Tobias can give you. It''s the thought that counts.”
Skr opened the box to reveal a gold-encrusted jade pendant on a white gold chain. It was a piece
of jewelry that would appeal to older women''s preferences.
She closed the box swiftly. Marcus'' smile widened as the lid slid shut with a snap.
“You don''t like it? This ne belonged to someone I knew. She loved it, but she''s no longer
here. I didn''t want to throw away such a lovely piece of jewelry, so I gave it to you.”
A glint shed past Skr''s eyes. Is Marcus giving me something that belonged to a deceased
person? Is he trying to upset me at thiste hour?
The sky outside the window had turned pitch ck.
Looking cold, Skr said sternly, “Mr. Ford, if you have something to say, just say it. There''s no
reason to approach me intentionally and beat around the bush. I don''t have time to y games with
you.”
Marcus smiled faintly. “You can pass this ne to Tobias and see if he recognizes it.”
Skr tightened her grip on the rectangr box. What''s with Marcus and Tobias? She took the box.
“What if he doesn''t recognize it? Do I return the ne to you?”
Marcus arched a brow. “He''s a forgetful person, so it''s typical for him to forget. Just pass him the
ne for me.”
Skr mumbled to herself, “What a lunatic! Why don''t you pass it to him yourself? I''m not a
deliverywoman. Why should I help you pass it to him?”
