Chapter 2137 An Ass In A Lions Skin

Chapter 2137 An Ass In A Lion''s Skin

Vicky had never expected that Rob would do such a thing. Although she tried putting her mind into it,

she couldn''t think of any way to lure him out.

Rob had cut off all connections with her, so she had no idea how to get a hold of him now. How could

    she find him?

Moreover, she had been trying so hard to run away from him. Reaching out to find him now would also

mean risking her own life. Vicky raised her head as she tried to think further, and then a painting on the

wall caught her attention. It showed a little boy ying on the sand, a red g in his hand. Charles and

Sheryl''s son. He must be the same age. At this stage, she didn''t even care about his whereabouts nor

    his safety.

A myriad of thoughts crowded into Vicky''s mind at that moment, and she validated each of them. In the

end, without saying a word, she made a decision that was most beneficial to her.

Sheryl was watching her all this time. She could tell from the look on Vicky''s face that she didn''t want to

help. Vicky had always been selfish. How could she even think about others when she had no

    sympathy for them at all?

Smiling bitterly, Sheryl knew it was time to use herst card. Left with no other choice, it was herst

    resort.

"Charles has already woken up," Sheryl started. Staring at Vicky, she noticed the shock in her face

though she tried to look calm. "He told me everything, including your failed attempt to drug him. In fact,

he has already collected all the evidence about your collusion with Rob. The reason why he hasn''t told

the police yet is that he wanted to see if you have any repentance, Rachel," Sheryl said, stressing on

her name. "No, your name is Vicky now, right? You are a smart girl, and you have gone through so

much. Now that you have changed your identity, you can live a new life. You should understand that life

is more important than anything else. And that''s what we are offering you."

Sheryl''s words made Vicky''s heart sink. She could feel Sheryl''s eyes on her, watching her expression

    the entire time.

What she had worried about the most had finally happened. Charles was awake. He knew everything,

but he had decided not to expose it, at least not as of yet. He had been waiting for this moment to

Now that they couldn''t find Rob, nor could they charge Ferry, they came to her.

The news of her being alive here would make headlines. Everyone coulde and trouble her,

    including all her enemies.

A hint of sorrow reflected on Vicky''s face. It seemed that no matter who she was, Rachel or Vicky,

everything in her life was just out of her control.

Sheryl felt bad when she saw Vicky''s reaction. Although she had always hated this woman, she had

never thought of putting her to death. Sheryl still believed that she could be saved.

"Vicky, cooperate with us. I can assure you that you will be fine," Sheryl said, her words filled with

    assurance.

Vicky slowly raised her head and looked at Sheryl. There was a touch of firmness in her eyes. Clearly,

she had decided. Although her face was pale, she looked especially pretty.

    "I only want Ferry''s life!"

"Okay, I can guarantee that, as you wish." Sheryl nodded, and her lips curved in a sweet smile.

Vicky looked at the woman in front of her. Sheryl was not as beautiful as her. Without a doubt, she

might not even be better than her in many aspects. But she was the only woman who had captured

Charles''s heart! She found it odd that this woman got so lucky.

Vicky couldn''t help but wonder what it was that Charles found so attractive about her. ''What is so good

    about this woman?'' Vicky thought.

"Sheryl, what is so good about you?" Vicky finally asked the question out loud. It had been haunting her

the whole time, and she couldn''t find her answer.

Sheryl didn''t get it at first. She just stared back at Vicky. When she finally realized what Vicky meant,

she shook her head and answered with a smile, "You''ve been wrong from the very beginning. Charles

loves me not because I''m better than you, or because you''re worse than me. He loves me because I

never lie to him. I treat him sincerely, and I hope that he will treat me sincerely too. That might be the

    difference between us."

"I see!" With a bitter smile, Vicky nodded andmented, "You know what, I don''t hate you at all now,

    Sheryl."

"I''ve never hated you," Sheryl replied calmly.

"Thank you for telling me this. Now that I''ve spoken it out, I feelpletely relieved. I have made lots of

mistakes in the past. I fell in love with the wrong person, put my trust in the wrong set of people. But

there''s only one person I feel really guilty about," Vicky''s face darkened as she went on.

Sheryl certainly knew who Vicky was talking about. But times had changed, and people had to leave

their past behind. No matter how painful and unforgettable those memories were, they would stay as

memories. People should learn from them and move on with their life.

"Let bygones be bygones. Think about your future. You have a full life ahead of you. I believe that

everything will be better this time around."

"Thank you," Vicky said in a sincere and grateful tone.

Seeing that Vicky''s expression softened, Sheryl decided to slowly get down to business, "So, Vicky,

can we talk about the n going forward now?"

"Yes," Vicky answered gently, all ears to what Sheryl had to say.

"Okay, then you can do this..." Sheryl moved closer to Vicky and started telling her about the n she

    and Charles had agreed on.

A few minutester, Vicky''s expression changed. Sheryl had just finished talking, and she was still

trying to digest everything that she had said. She hadn''t expected Sheryl and Charles to be so

thoughtful and careful. She found it truly impressive. The n was almost perfect. If she hadn''t known

it in advance, she would have fallen into their trap.

By now, shepletely believed that Sheryl and Charles had the ability to pull this through. They could

    absolutely put Ferry to death.

"Don''t worry. I will find your son," Vicky firmly told Sheryl.

Beaming a big smile, Sheryl nodded and replied, "That''s also the result I am expecting. From this day

on, rest assured that we will do everything that we can in order to protect you."

    "Okay, thank you."

"Would you like to see me off?" Sheryl stood up, waiting for Vicky''s response.

"Of course, I will," Vicky answered automatically.

Ste was still in the kitchen when she heard a noiseing from the top of the staircase. Walking out

    Property belongs to N?vel(D)r/ama.Org.

of the kitchen, she saw Sheryling downstairs angrily.

"Ms. Xia, you..." Ste asked as she rushed to meet Sheryl. Seeing Sheryl''s angry face, she

immediately concluded that she must have had a fight with Vicky.

Sheryl yelled at Ste, "How dare she! Ste, get someone to pack this woman''s luggage immediately,

    and kick her out tonight!"

Seeing Sheryl was in a bad mood, Ste was d. She was fed up with what Vicky had done to her

these days. Feeling sick of Vicky, she agreed that she deserved to be thrown out. "Sure, I''ll pack her

luggage myself and make sure she leaves as soon as possible."

Sheryl angrily went to the door and felt the room was stuffy. Widely leaving the door open, she stood by

it and scolded, "What is this all about? She lives inside my house and eats my food. How dare she

disrespect me? I''ve tried to put up with her before, but my patience had its limits. Does she really think

    I''m a push-over?"

While Sheryl was scolding at Vicky, Ste had already gone upstairs to pack Vicky''s luggage. She

found Vicky standing by the door of her room. Sheshed out at Ste and pushed her when she tried

    to enter.

"How dare you bully me? You useless servant! How dare you touch my luggage without my permission!

I''m telling you, once Charles wakes up, he will..." Vicky started shouting, raising her voice loud enough

so Sheryl could hear it from downstairs.

Sheryl got even angrier. Yelling back, she ordered, "Ste, go ahead. Don''t listen to her. If she doesn''t

leave, just throw her stuff out!"

Hearing Sheryl''s order, Ste looked at Vicky with a sly pleasure and sneered, "See? It''s Ms. Xia''s

order. You''d better leave now while you can still save your face."

Ste''s words seemed to fuel Vicky''s anger even more. Her face turned ck, and she pointed at

Ste, her fingers trembling. "You...you ass in a lion''s skin! Who do you think you are?"
