Chapter 2131 Condition Getting Worse.
At the ICU of the hospital
Charles sat up on the bed the moment Sheryl left.
He called David at once.
"Mr. Lu, what''s up? Isn''t Ms. Xia there with you at the moment?" David asked, surprised to get a call
from Charles at this time of the day. As far as David was aware, this was the time of the day when
Sheryl went to visit Charles and gave him a body massage every day.
"Immediately call the kindergarten and figure out what has happened to rk," Charles ordered,
sounding anxious.
"Why? What happened?"
"Sheryl just got a call from my mother. She told Sheryl that rk went missing from the kindergarten
this afternoon," Charles answered.

Charles sat on the bed, feeling deeply annoyed.

Charles took out his cell phone and dialed another number.
He waited for the call to be answered. After a while of dialing, the line was connected.
"Hey, howe you have woken up in such a short time?" the man on the other side answered in a
low yet hoarse voice.
Charles ignored the jeer and asked in a low voice, "How is he doing?"
"Nothing special. He just sleeps and basks in the sun throughout the day."
"Nothing special at all? Are you sure?" Charles asked.
"Yes. Why? Is there anything wrong?"
"Keep a very close eye on him and inform me in time if anything happens."
"Is he nning something bad? This man is really like a millipede. We have taught him many lessons,
but he is so stubborn that he doesn''t change at all," the man said.
"He is very hard to deal with." A hint of coldness shed through Charles'' eyes. "He will take some
actions very soon. Be vignt."
"Okay, I see. By the way, were you there in the car ident?" the man asked.
Charles replied indifferently, "You wille to know about it at the right time."
"You!" The man knew Charles very well. It was difficult to get information from him as long as he did not
want to divulge it. The man knew that it was futile to get agitated on this matter. Hence, it would make
sense for him to rather calm down and remain silent.
"All right, I''m going to hang up now. But you remember my words. Be careful and vignt about him."
Charles hung up the phone as he finished his words.
Charles then raised his head and nced at the medical equipment around him. He narrowed his eyes.
It seemed that the mastermind did not believe that Charles was unconscious. So he was doing
something or the other to agitate him. After a while of pondering upon the current situation, Charles

In Dream Garden, Sheryl brought Shirley and Melissa back home. As soon as they got home, Melissa
dropped on the sofa and started crying inconsbly. Nancy made haste to bring a ss of water for
her.
"Madam, would you like to have some water? You haven''t eaten anything since the afternoon. If it goes
on like this, you will fall sick," Nancy said to Melissa when she saw her crying.
However, Melissa paid no heed to Nancy''s words and kept crying.
Nancy looked at Sheryl helplessly, wanting her tofort Melissa.
But Sheryl''s condition was no better. She sat alone with her head down. Her face looked pale, and she
was at a loss.
Sheryl realized that the trouble they were in was of a much higher magnitude than they could perceive
it to be. rk couldn''t go missing just like that. Someone must have plotted against them to kidnap
him. But who was the man?
Nancy didn''t know what to do when she saw Sheryl and Melissa were both worried about rk. She
could not bear to see them like that. Shirley had also be extremely petrified. None of them had
even taken a sip of water throughout the day.
In this trying situation, even Mr. Lu was lying unconscious in the hospital. Who else could they rely on?
''Should I inform Mr. Gary?'' Nancy wondered.
But if Mr. Gary knew, it would only make the matter worse.
Nancy could not make up her mind as to how to make Melissa and Sheryl feel better. She had no other
option than to just stand by them and support them silently.

As the three people in the room were immersed in deep sorrow and anxiety, the sound of the mobile
phone broke the silence in the room.
Sheryl took out her phone and saw it was a call from the hospital.
She answered the phone in a hurry, "Hello?"
''It''s a call from the hospital. I hope everything is fine with Charles, '' she wondered.
Drops of sweat started to appear on Sheryl''s forehead. Her heart was almost in her mouth as she
waited for a reply from the other side.
"Miss Xia, Mr. Lu''s condition is getting worse. Pleasee to the hospital as soon as possible," the
doctor said on the phone.
"What? How could this be? Okay, I''ll be right there." Sheryl hung up the phone and rushed out to the
hospital without even taking her handbag.
Melissa saw Sheryl''s panic and didn''t know what happened. She thought that Sheryl might have
received some information about rk. She grabbed Sheryl''s arm and asked, "Sher, have they found
rk?"
"No, it''s not like that..." Sheryl hesitated whether to tell her the news or not. She bit her lips and finally
told her the truth. "It''s Charles. His condition is getting worse."

Sheryl''s stiff body suddenly softened. She turned around and let her body copse to lean against the
man''s chest, heaving a sigh of relief.
