Chapter 2052 What''s Going On
"The bar belongs to one of our partners," Sheryl told Damian. He seemed sullen at the moment.
"Ah, I hope I am paranoid, and there''s nothing to worry about," Damian replied with a voice loaded with
concern.
"Yes! You are paranoid and overthinking even a trivial thing. Hey! Won''t you give me a ride?" Sheryl
walked right ahead as she rolled her eyes at Damian.
"I''ll certainly give you a ride. Just give me a minute," Damian spoke falteringly and was hesitant to look
Sheryl in the eyes.
An hourter, Sheryl and Damian arrived right in front of I''s bar.
Surprisingly, Sheryl seldom visited this bar. But, this time, I had set a private banquet and had
specifically invited Sheryl to it to have somepany along.
At the bar entrance
Damian was very eager to go into the bar with Sheryl. Yet, Sheryl gave him a blunt refusal.
"I''ll go inside on my own. You can leave now. Thanks for the ride! Bye-bye!" Sheryl was reluctant to
have Damian''spany along at this moment and in this ce particrly.
Damian stood staring at Sheryl, mouth agape with incredulity, smothering the retort that rose to his lips.
Sheryl hurriedly stepped inside the bar as Damian looked at her with envious eyes while she walked
away. Secondster, Damian hopped in his car as he waited for Sheryl to return.
In the bar, I joyfully greeted Sheryl upon seeing her and gave her a warm wee.
"It''s so considerate of you to show up here. We were going to begin without you. You should have been
here ten minutes ago. Well, thank God, you''re finally here!" I muttered, putting on a feeble facade.
"What''s going on? Why didn''t you tell me that my sole mission is to add on to the crowd here?" Sheryl
was baffled by I''s words and questioned her with bewilderment.
"That''s correct." I nodded desperately in agreement as she hauled Sheryl along with her into a
karaoke lounge.
"My intuition can sense something fishy going on, I. Tell me the truth, or else I''ll leave this ce right
away and won''te back at all," Sheryl growled and pretended to be offended. She shook I''s hand
off her arm viciously out of rage.
"There is nothing fishy going on here, Sheryl. Aron and his best friends have just returned from abroad,
and you know, Aron has invited several stunning beauties to this party. I just invited you to psych out
those beauties and help me out. All you need to do is just cow them down with your intoxicating eyes
and unrelenting words. Please! Sher, I need your support."
When I ended her long tale, Sheryl finally snapped out of her trance. She felt miserable, realizing
she was being treated as cannon fodder.
"I''m your close friend, I. How could you have the heart to use me as cannon fodder?" Sheryl asked
with utter dismay as she shook an angry finger at I.
"Are you ming me?" I flickered and yed the victim card herself.
"Fine, fine. You win. Cheer up now! So long as what you do is right, I''ll go along with you. Just tell me
which woman you cannot bear the sight of? I''ll teach this woman a lesson and knock some sense into
her," Sheryl spoke a few words offort to I. As I''s best friend, Sheryl knew I very well,
through and through.
Sheryl figured that I must have noticed Aron being seduced by a foolish, yet, a beguiling woman
around him. Otherwise, how could I have generated such an intention?
"You always know what''s going on in my mind," I cheered vociferously. At that moment, she wasn''t
able to contain herself and hugged Sheryl tightly with joy and involuntarily kissed her face. It was
evident, I was d that Sheryl had her back.
"Step back I. People will think you are a lesbian," Sheryl said as she turned up the whites of her
eyes and pushed I away. Then they merrily stepped inside the karaoke lounge together.
I had already told Sheryl who the stupid woman was. So Sheryl headed straight towards her upon
entering the karaoke lounge.
Sheryl noticed that thisdy was sitting directly opposite to Aron. ''People will think you two are husband
and wife!'' Sheryl mused, and she got in a blind rage as her blood boiled with fury.
"You''re finally here! Wee back, Aron," Sheryl greeted Aron with a nod of the head. Then she sat by
Aron''s side, deliberately obstructing the seductive woman''s view.
"Uh, Sher, you''re here." Aron was all smiles as he greeted Sheryl affectionately.
Aron was fully aware that Sheryl was I''s best friend. They sailed in the same boat and had shared
their life. As soon as he saw Sheryl''s smiling face, Aron also got in a good mood.
"It seems you don''t like me, Aron," Sheryl said in a tone dripping with sarcasm.
Aron was baffled by Sheryl''s words as he took a quick glimpse at Sheryl and turned his eyes to I in
embarrassment.
I pretended to be innocent and looked away purposely. Aron goggled in bewilderment. He had no
idea what game I was ying at.
"Who is this woman? Aron," At the moment, the seductive woman asked Aron about Sheryl.
"She is my wife''s best friend," Aron answered with ease and confidence. He was a man with integrity
and chose not to conceal the rtionship between him, Sheryl, and I.
Upon hearing Aron''s answer, the woman''s pretentious face became a mask of gaucherie.
At that moment, I was sitting at a distance from him. Even though Aron was talking andughing in
the karaoke lounge with the guests, he continuously kept an eye on I all the time.
Sheryl being an incredible best friend, took the chance to talk about the stories of Aron and I, both
intentionally and unintentionally. The other woman was struggling hard to contain her envy when she
had listened attentively to Sheryl for a few minutes.
Although Sheryl was not a woman of exceptionally high IQ, she was smart enough to read faces.
Sheryl sensed at once that the seductive woman had feelings for Aron! ''It''s no surprise that I needed
to build fences. This foolish woman has ns to trap Aron!'' Sheryl thought to herself.
"Are you a colleague of Aron''s?" Sheryl asked the woman, who undoubtedly had intended to catch the
limelight because of her colorful dress. It was to be expected that a woman like she had the skills to
cast her magic spell on any man she chose.
"Yep, we work in the same department," the woman described in a rather over-sentimental style.
Consciously or subconsciously, she gave Aron an admiring glimpse.
But, fortunately for I, Aron had eyes on no one else except for her! Anyone could''ve sensed that he
was still head over heels for I.
"Are you busy? Do you have a moment to spare, I?" Aron wasn''t able to resist and involuntarily
asked I out of the blue. Within a second, there was an expression of resentment on his face as if he
had sinned.
Aron was bing annoyed with I''s chilly and distant courtesy. Besides, he had just returned from
abroad yesterday.
"Ah, wait a moment. Why are you in such a hurry?" I responded as she gave Aron an amorous
nce.
Aron felt relieved at I''s tender glimpse. The pressure was finally rolled off his mind.
Meanwhile, the foolish and seductive woman took the chance to firmly hold Aron''s hands in hers.
"What in the hell are you doing?! Don''t you know Aron has a wife?" Sheryl yelled out in anger. It made
Sheryl''s blood boil when she saw that this disgusting woman was taking such foolhardy action to lure
Aron.
"Why are you getting so emotional? Please don''t fly off the handle!" The woman growled furiously and
anxiously. A secondter, she wasn''t able to restrain herself from weeping.
Sheryl could not put up with her anymore. She got to her feet, dragging Aron along with her.
The woman also got up and followed closely behind Aron. However, Sheryl held up her hands and

obstructed her from following them further at the door of the karaoke lounge.
"Just stay inside if you don''t want to be beaten up," Sheryl bellowed as she shot daggers at that
woman with her eyes.
At that moment, Sheryl looked like she was a she-wolf, deterring that woman from following closely
behind them.
"Just tell me whatever is going on? What are you up to, Aron?" Sheryl asked Aron resentfully after they
had walked out of the karaoke lounge.
"What are you talking about, Sheryl? I don''t know what you mean." Aron was stunned by Sheryl''s
strange interrogation. Then Aron rubbed the back of his head, not knowing how to respond.
After all, Aron and I had been married for so many years, so, naturally, Sheryl knew all about Aron,
to a greater or less degree. Sheryl was aware that Aron was not a liar, and she saw him remain calm
and at peace at that moment. Intuition told her that Aron was a man of dignity and had preserved his
moral integrity.
