Chapter 2014 Warning

    Chapter 2014 Warning

After half an hour or so, Sheryl and I came out together.

From afar, Charles caught sight of Sheryl''s smiling face. This filled him with relief, and a warm smile

appeared on his face as well.

David had noticed the sudden change in his boss'' expression. He secretly prayed that Charles would

be able to spend his life with Sheryl. After all, it was evident to him that Charles could only be happy

    when Sheryl was around.

Since Sheryl was standing very far from him, Charles had no way of knowing what she and I were

talking about. However, the only thing that mattered to him was her happiness. And, even from this

distance, he could tell she was fine.

"Let''s go back to Dream Garden." Charles thought that he had to talk to Melissa. Thest time their

conversation had yielded no results. This time, however, he was determined to convince his mother.

Otherwise, the consequences might be uncontroble and unbearable.

On his way back home, Charles was engrossed in thought. He tried to think of a convincing way in

which he could talk to Melissa.

Charles also knew that the only reason that Sheryl didn''t question him regarding the matter was that

she didn''t want to talk to him anymore. If Melissa continued to act so capriciously, Sheryl might get

    seriously enraged.

"Mr. Lu, I don''t think you should be this worried. Mrs. Lu did that because she wanted Ms. Xia to stay

with you. I think Ms. Xia would also understand this point." Since Charles had kept his brows knitted in

the car, David tried to console him.

"But Sheryl must be disappointed with me. Even my mom made an effort to restore this rtionship. I

am the only idiot who didn''t take any active action. I guess she is deeply hurt now." This had been

    bothering Charles.

However, hisck of enthusiasm wasn''t because he didn''t care for Sheryl anymore. It was just that he

wanted to get everything sorted before getting back to Sheryl. This time he didn''t want to leave any

room for problems. Otherwise, Sheryl and the kids would also be burdened by his own concerns.

"Mr. Lu, now that Vicky has been discharged from the hospital, we''ll soon find out her secrets. Good

days are ahead, so don''t worry." David had a strong feeling that things would be sorted out soon.

    "I hope so."

In the mansion in the suburb

Melissa parked the car outside. She sneaked into the main gate to find out who the woman was.

Through the French window, she saw a figure with beautiful curves walking in the main lobby.

Melissa drew even closer to get a clearer view of the woman. Suddenly, the woman turned around. It

    was none other than Vicky!

Melissa was struck by shock. ''Damn it! It''s her!'' Melissa roared inwardly.

Angered, Melissa pushed the door wide open.

"Vicky, what are you doing here?" Melissa spat, deeply annoyed by the woman.

Vicky was caught off-guard. She didn''t imagine that Melissa would pop in here all of a sudden. Still

    startled, she gazed at Melissa.

Calming herself down, Vicky decided to find out what Melissa''s intention was before she carried out

    any action.

"Aunt Melissa, what brought you here? Are you here just to see me?" Vicky replied in a polite manner,

    perfectly concealing her shock.

"Stop pretending! Charles isn''t around, so you don''t have to pretend. Why don''t you just answer my

question? Tell me–why are you here?" Melissa shouted. ''Vicky is a very cunning woman. Dealing with

her is harder than dealing with Le was, '' Melissa thought to herself with frustration.

"Aunt Melissa, did I do something wrong?" Vicky asked, feigning a wounded expression.

On the surface, she managed to look polite and sweet. But deep in her heart, she had cursed Melissa a

    thousand times.

"You know what I''m referring to. Just answer me. What are you doing here? You im you are suffering

from memory loss. And you can''t seem to remember anyone except Charles. Wow! What a perfect lie! I

can''t believe that anyone would buy it."

Melissa decided to show no mercy to Vicky. She had already formed an impression of her. ording to

her, Vicky was a woman who kept sticking to Charles and was chasing after his money.

"Aunt Melissa, I understand that Ie from a humble family. But can you not question my integrity? I

love Charles, and he loves me as well. How can you have the heart to break two lovers apart?" As she

spoke, tears trickled down her face.

"Vicky, keep your tears to yourself. Your tricks won''t work here. Why are you doing this? What will you

gain from this?" Melissa felt that Vicky was a strong rival. Her patience was wearing thin.

Vicky looked around and realized that Ste was nowhere in sight. She remembered that Ste was

clearing the backyard. Then she decided to talk things over with Melissa.

"Why am I doing this? Well, Aunt Melissa, I should be asking you this question. Why are you doing this

to me?" Vicky shot a contemptuous stare at Melissa.

A second ago, she had seemed so innocent and puzzled. But now she had apletely different

expression. This was exactly what Melissa was hoping to see. And it now confirmed her suspicion that

    Vicky hadn''t lost her memory.

"What? Are you done with your acting?" Melissa put on a knowing smile. She had always had a strong

feeling that Vicky was using the excuse of memory loss to keep Charles by her side.

"Aunt Melissa, why not cut to the chase? What do you want?"

Folding her arms across her chest, Vicky raised her head and looked straight at Melissa.

"Well, I have the same question for you. What do you want? How much money is required for you to

leave Charles?" Melissa went straight to the point. Last time, if Charles hadn''t blocked her in the

hospital, she would have already peeled the mask off from Vicky''s face. Now that Vicky had revealed

her true self, she couldn''t help but put forth this question again.

"Aunt Melissa, all I remember is that I''m Charles'' wife. As his wife, I share all our properties, including

the Shining Company." Since Charles wasn''t around, Vicky decided to make use of this opportunity.

She took satisfaction in triggering Melissa.

"Vicky, enough of that nonsense! Do you really believe that Charles will ept you? Well, then you are

deluded. Let me warn you! Without my consent, you''re never going to be a part of the Lu family!"

    Melissa shot back desperately.

Vicky decided to fight back. There was no way that she could tolerate this humiliation.

"Melissa, I was kind to you only because you''re Charles'' mother. However, it seems that you don''t

    appreciate my kindness..."

Smack! Melissa pped Vicky right across her face.

''This woman is simply arrogant! I have to put her in her ce!'' Melissa thought to herself.

"Vicky, let me remind you, you are the one who doesn''t appreciate my kindness. I''ve been really patient

with you till now. It is time for you to make your decision! I can give you some money if you promise to

get the hell out of Charles'' life. Or, you can still stay with Charles, but you will never get to marry him!

Mark my words. As long as I am alive, you won''t get to set your dirty feet in the Dream Garden!"

Melissa gave Vicky her warning before she strode away.

Vicky covered her cheek, which continued to burn with pain. Rage was boiling in her heart. Her anger

and humiliation were so much that it overwhelmed her. Any second she could explode.
