Chapter 2001 Block Her
"Even when you''ve left someone, it isn''t easy to erase his memories from your life. Don''t you agree?"
Sheryl opened up to I, knowing it wouldn''t do any good to hide the truth.
Also, she hade to realize it wasn''t right to hide her emotions. After all, it was human nature to feel
this way.
"Do you think you will ever be able topletely recover from this rtionship?" Holding Sheryl''s hand
tighter, I eyed her with worry.
Sheryl was surprised by I''s question. Shaking her head helplessly, she answered, "I, I have
recovered already. If I hadn''t, do you think it would be possible for me to smile? No. I am over it, but the
memories might stay for a while."
"Right! I''m so d that you told me everything. As a way of saying thank you, I''ll be taking you to an
interesting ce tomorrow." I seemed to have a surprise for Sheryl.
Sheryl instantly became curious, but she knew I wouldn''t tell her about the ce since it would spoil
the surprise. ''Where is she taking me to?'' Sheryl couldn''t help but wonder.
"There is no way I am going to tell you about it now. Don''t bother racking your head. You won''t be able
to guess the ce. Rx, since you''ll find out tomorrow." Even before Sheryl voiced her doubt, I
knew what Sheryl was thinking.
"Okay. Since you''ve said that, I have no choice but to wait patiently for tomorrow." Sheryl shrugged and
wore a defeated expression.
Sheryl then asked I about her rtionship with Aron. When she got to know that they were getting
along well, Sheryl felt very happy.
"It''ste now. Time to sleep," Sheryl said, and they stopped chatting, falling fast asleep.
Sheryl had a sound sleep that night. It was the mostfortable sleep she''d had since the divorce.
The next morning, I woke up quite early.
In the kitchen, she, along with rk, was helping Joan prepare breakfast.
But to Joan, their presence was more of a burden than a help. If they hadn''t helped her, she could have
finished her work much earlier. The kitchen was in a total mess ever since they joined, and it took Joan
a lot of time to get everything done.
Sheryl was sleeping calmly. However, she was suddenly disturbed by the noise in the kitchen. Rubbing
her sleepy eyes, she walked out the bedroom.
When she reached the kitchen and saw the mess, she couldn''t believe her own eyes. Once again, she
rubbed her eyes. That was when she realized that she wasn''t dreaming.
"What are you doing here?" Sheryl asked I and rk.
The two of them turned around, beaming at her, with some flour on their faces.
Joan sighed. "Ms. Xia, please help me. rk and I insisted on helping me with making breakfast.
But does this look like help? I don''t think so!"
Joanined to Sheryl, relieved that her misery could now be put to a full stop.
Sheryl walked closer and saw the ugly dumplings they had made. "Ha-ha!" sheughed out loud.
"I, don''t create trouble for Joan. Go brush your teeth instead. And rk, you do the same!" Sheryl
was trying hard not tough out loud again.
"Mom, are youughing at us?" rk asked Sheryl.
"No, rk. I know you''re a good boy. Today we can''t afford to spend too much time on breakfast. If you
want to make dumplings, we can do it some other day." Sheryl squatted down and talked to her son in
a soft tone.
"Okay! I''ll listen to mom!" rk kissed Sheryl on her cheek before he went to brush his teeth.
I wasn''t buying that. "I''m not rk, Sheryl," she grumbled. "You can''t get away with that. Do you
think that I''ll believe you weren''tughing at me?"
"Yes, I was! You''re an adult, I. Howe you don''t know how to make dumplings? Do I have to give
you lessons for that?" Sheryl''s words were hurled at I with an intention to offend her. With a smile,
she waited for a reaction.
"You...You''re so bad!" I pretended to be seriously hurt.
But Sheryl knew that I wasn''t actually offended. Patting her shoulder, Sheryl said, "Okay, okay. Stop
that. Go brush your teeth as well. Let''s have breakfast together!"
Then Sheryl pulled I out of the kitchen.
Joan couldn''t help but smile at the little banter that took ce between the two friends.
When the breakfast was ready, Sheryl went to Shirley''s room and woke her up.
After breakfast, I and Sheryl took the kids to kindergarten.
"Remember to behave well at school. Don''t make your teacher angry. Okay?" I reminded the kids.
Shirley nodded her head, while rk turned to I and answered in a serious tone, "Aunt I, you
should also behave well. Don''t make mommy angry. Okay?"
"Ha-ha, rk, how dare you crack a joke on me!" Charles'' name suddenly popped up in her mind. ''He
is just like Charles, '' she thought.
There was a moment where she was about to blurt out her thoughts. Luckily, she bit her tongue and

managed to hold it back.
"Okay, I don''t mind. You should go now," I said, motioning the kids to enter their school.
Sheryl was having a conversation with the teacher to the side. Afraid that Melissa woulde again,
she sincerely requested the teacher not to allow the kids to go home with anyone other than herself
and Joan.
"Ms. Xia, rest assured." The teacher then took the kids inside.
It wasn''t because Sheryl didn''t trust Melissa, but rather because she wanted to keep Charles out of her
life.
If Charles indeed wanted to see the kids, all he had to do was ask. She would have allowed him to see
them. But all the evidence suggested that he didn''t care enough about the kids.
''If he has no interest in the kids, then why should I allow him to be a part of my life?'' she thought and a
look of gloom shed over her face.
Sheryl didn''t want Charles to think it was she who had asked Melissa to take the kids to see him. As a
mother, she didn''t want her kids to be somewhere they weren''t needed. Moreover, Charles might think
she was using her kids because she wanted to be back in his life. And this was something she couldn''t
allow to happen.
Perhaps she was just over-thinking, but she had to be very meticulous in everything she was doing.
She had to consider the worst-case scenario. In the past, she had believed in Charles with all her
heart. Deep in her heart, she thought he would love her forever. But now everything had fallen apart.
The foundation of their rtionship had been shattered. He had the audacity to divorce her for another
woman!
Thinking of her miserable life, Sheryl fell into a daze.
"Hello? Earth to Sheryl! Get into the car!" I had been waiting for Sheryl in the car, but it seemed that
Sheryl wasn''t moving.
"Okay."
Snapping back to reality, Sheryl quickly got into the car and drove back to thepany.
Sheryl continued working on the files while I went out to monitor some of the work in progress. They
had always been clear on their respective responsibilities–one for internal matters, and the other for
external ones.
"Phoebe, remember to block Melissa from entering thepany. I''ll tell the receptionist as well. Watch
out for her, okay? This is a serious issue," I reminded Phoebe in a serious tone before she left the
"Okay, Ms. Zhao. I get it." Though Phoebe wasn''t sure why I had asked her to do this, she obeyed
the order. After all, she was certain it must be for Sheryl''s well-being.
