Chapter 1997 Losing His Temper

    Chapter 1997 Losing His Temper

Melissa didn''t remove her gaze from Jackson as she continued to look at him expectantly.

Jackson had experienced a lot despite of his youth, and he knew that there was something wrong with

the amount of attention Melissa was giving him.

The smile on his lips didn''t even twitch as he continued to grin at her but refused to speak. He watched

Melissa browse the menu for a moment before ncing at Henry, who caught his gaze and gave him a

wink, while the expression on his face didn''t change at all.

The hidden message was easily understood by Henry, who coughed awkwardly before stepping closer.

"Mrs. Lu, it''s ratherte now. Jackson still has something to do. Let''s call it a day. We hope to see you

    again next time."

As soon as Henry finished speaking, Jackson stood up and prepared to leave.

A frown made its way on to Melissa''s face. She had finally figured out such a good idea. How could she

    let him go?

"No. Stop." Melissa reached out and grabbed Jackson''s sleeve.

Jackson tried to avoid her reach, but she chased after his arm and knocked over a ss of wine on the

table, spilling it all over the table and his clothes.

The expression on Jackson''s face quickly changed into a frown, and Jackson couldn''t stop himself from

shouting at Melissa with displeasure, "You''re insane!"

Melissa''s expression was panicked and apologetic even if she hadn''t knocked the wine ss by

ident. She desperately wanted to stop Jackson from leaving no matter what.

Jackson wasn''t stupid and saw through Melissa immediately.

Henry made to move and help them out of the awkward situation, but Melissa was already flushed red

from both anger and embarrassment because of Jackson''s reaction.

She had never been humiliated like this. Everything that Jackson had done, from shaking off her hand

and cursing at her, as well as sending Sheryl flowers, infuriated Melissa.

    "Smack!"

Melissa was so angry that she had no coherent thought in her head as she had raised her hand and

    pped Jackson across his face.

Jackson was young and still very impulsive. He was furious that he had been pped by an unfamiliar

woman when he believed he hadn''t done anything wrong. His hand rose as he nned to p her

back, but Henry grabbed his hand to stop him.

"Jackson..." Henry shook his head at Jackson, saying without a word that he shouldn''t be hasty.

"Don''t be rash? Henry, you have seen what happened. I''ve only just met Mrs. Lu, but she has been

rude to me and even purposefully spilled wine on me. Am I supposed to just bear with it?" Jackson''s

eyes narrowed at Henry, his entire body shaking in rage.

Henry was speechless and knew that if he was in Jackson''s position, he would have the same feelings.

"What? You don''t believe me? Why don''t you look at yourself? Who the hell are you? You think you can

do everything, but you should think if you''re even qualified to do anything. Do you understand?"

Melissa was just as angry, and she proudly tilted her chin. She didn''t feel any guilt for pping

    Jackson.

"What...What do you mean?" Jackson was surprised. Did Melissa mean that he deserved to be beaten

    up?

    "You know what you did!"

    "You..."

"Enough, Jackson. You''re a gentleman. Don''t lower yourself to the same level as this woman." Henry

was aware that he wouldn''t be able to stop Melissa from doing anything, so he could only try to reason

    with Jackson.

"Enough, Henry. You just don''t want to offend Shining Company." Jackson turned back to re at

Henry and shook off his grip, furiously walking out of the restaurant.

Right before he exited, Jackson turned to warn Melissa, "If it wasn''t for Mr. Li''s sake, I wouldn''t have let

    you get out of this."

"What can you do to me, if you can''t just fight back?" Melissa retorted, ready to escte the situation.

She nned to chase after Jackson, but Henry blocked her path.

"My God. What on earth are you nning? Why are you dissatisfied? Why aim for Jackson?" Henry

was really confused and wanted to know what had happened to make them fight.

    "It''s none of your business."

Melissa also stomped off out of the restaurant in a rage, leaving everything for Henry to deal with.

Henry mmed a fist on the table in fury before he paid the bill and left.

As the three went their separate ways, none of them noticed that someone was watching them the

entire time from the second floor of the restaurant.

Melissa left the restaurant and couldn''t control her anger. It was beyond her expectations that Jackson

    was so unreasonable.

    In Shining Company

Charles was quietly doing his work and checking over documents when his door burst open, and the

    secretary entered without his permission.

She didn''t even knock on the door. Charles got ready to scold her for her rudeness and threw the pen

from his hand in her direction. "Didn''t David teach you? Or do you think I''m so friendly that I''ll forgive

    this?"

"I''m so sorry, Mr. Lu, but Ms. Zhao from Cloud Advertising Company hase to thepany in a

threatening manner. I, I think she''se here with bad intentions." The secretary paled when she saw

Charles'' re, and her voice shook as she exined.

She was terrified, but she also couldn''t afford to offend I, who was right outside.

"Fine. Go back to work." Charles watched the secretary leave before settling back down in his chair

and bing lost in his thoughts, wondering why I hade here at this hour. ''Was Sheryl in

    trouble?''

    Charles frowned at that thought.

I came straight from Cloud Advertising Company, and then she got angrier because of her thoughts.

She couldn''t help bute to the Shining Company.

It was not within her expectations to be stopped at the door by the receptionist of thepany. I''s

bad temper red even hotter, and she red at the girl, voice rising as she shouted, "Don''t you know

who I am? How dare you stop me?"

After I had screamed in her face, the receptionist was frightened but stood her ground dutifully.

I was so angry that she shoved the receptionist away and pointed at her when the girl tried to chase

after her. "Stay there if you don''t want to die. You won''t get punished even if I go up."

Since I said so, the receptionist didn''t dare to move from her spot and watched I head up into the

    building.

Once the scary guest was out of her sight, the receptionist immediately called the Secretary

    Department.

The secretary who received the call prepared to stop I.

As soon as the secretary walked out of Charles'' office, I rushed in.

I was so obviously furious, and Charles was at a loss for what to do. He stood up and asked, "What

    are you doing here?"

"What? You divorced Sher and now you don''t even want to see me?" I huffed at Charles, and her

every word was dripping with heavy sarcasm.

The expression on I''s face annoyed Charles, but he found itughable too. Sheryl would surely not

suffer any injustice in this world as long as I was around.

"You didn''te here just to see my face. Just tell me if you need something." Charles hid the

displeasure on his face and sat back down, looking at I confidently.

I disliked it the most when Charles was calm. It was like everything was under his control, and

    nothing could escape him.

"Charles, what did you say? Do you think you''re so great because you''re the president of Shining

Company? Do you think Sheryl can be bullied easily?" I''s voice and body trembled in anger, and she

    pounded on Charles'' table.

When Charles opened his mouth, I raised a hand to stop him.

She didn''t want him to say a word. Charles had no choice but to sit there and listen to I venting her

anger. She made it clear that he had to endure it.
