Chapter 1995 The Silly Woman


    Charles was seriously considering rejecting and leaving Vicky. However, reminded of her current


    emotional instability, he felt that if he turned her away now, she might resort to something crazy, like


    what almost happened to Cassie.


    "Alright. I''ll try." After he responded to Vicky, he turned around and apathetically strode away.


    Vicky was aware that Charles only meant to pacify her. His response, sadly, was only an empty

    "Charles, how did it go?" Nick asked. Nick was quite anxious. He was afraid that Vicky wouldn''t listen to

    "Thank you so much, Mr. Lu! I''m so d to hear that." Nick''s eyes gleamed with appreciation.


    "No worries, Nick! And, rx, you know you don''t have to be so polite," Charles told him.


    "Okay, then I''ll be going now." Charles was about to leave when he heard Nick''s voice.


    "Mr. Lu," Nick reluctantly said. Having hesitated for a while, Nick finally decided to voice his doubt.


    Charles stopped. Gazing at Charles''s back, he softly asked, "Are you still in love with Sheryl?"


    "I can''t answer that. Remember to take care of Cassie. And please do visit Sheryl as well for me."


    Having replied, he walked off.


    "Okay, I understand!"


    Nick shouted back to Charles. Even though Charles didn''t give him a positive, clear response, he could


    be sure that he still loved Sheryl. ''There must be some unknown reasons for this divorce, '' he


    concluded in his heart.


    After the surgery, Cassie had already forgotten about the matter between her and Vicky. It was only


    when she came off from work that she remembered the whole issue. Winking to Nick, she eximed,


    "Oh, my gosh, Nick! I''d totally forgotten about Vicky. Did she make another mess?"


    Nick wanted to tease Cassie once he saw her concern about Vicky. He couldn''t pass up this moment,


    so he decided to reply with only a grave face.


    Seeing Nick''s serious reaction, Cassie was in a state of suspense.


    "Aww! Really, Nick, what should we do?" Cassie anxiously asked Nick.

    joking and had yed a trick on her. Punching his chest, she grumbled, "Are you teasing me?"


    "You didn''t even really give me a chance to speak. So, what was I supposed to do?" Nick pretended to


    be innocent.


    "Stop that now! Come on Nick! Just tell me what really happened!" Cassie demanded. Cassie was


    curious to know how Nick had managed to do it.


    "If my spection is correct, even though Mr. Lu has divorced Sheryl, it doesn''t imply that he is


    necessarily our enemy. It was he who handled this issue. I have no idea how he did it, but I believe it


    was really easy for him," Nick stated.


    When she heard that, Cassie''s curiosity about Charles grew.


    "Okay. Sounds good, Nick." After Nick''s response, Cassie felt much more assured.


    Now that the biggest problem had been solved, they were going to go have dinner together and enjoy


    themselves.

    After Melissa left, Sheryl felt much more at ease. I, having had a good rest at home, now came back

    "Why do you look so easy going today?" Sheryl asked I.


    I took a seat opposite Sheryl, who seemed to be trying to rx, but peace kept alluding her.


    "You know what? Just a minute ago, Charles'' mother was here. She sat on that couch for the whole


    morning. Believe me, you''vee at a good time," Sheryl said to I.


    Upon hearing Melissa''s name, I suddenly became tense.


    "What happened? Why was she here?" I''s impressions of Melissa were terrible. Despite Melissa


    seemingly having changed, I still couldn''t believe that she had any good intentions towards Sheryl.

    so badly that he has his mom secretlye to spy on me?'' she questioned in her mind.


    "I can say for sure that Charles still loves you. He wants to still possess you, even though he has a new


    woman now. He probably asked Melissa to get close to you to prevent other admirers from

    "You''re such a silly woman!" I eximed, obviously irritated by Sheryl''s naivety.


    "All right, all right, I. Don''t get angry. I need to continue with my work now." Sheryl found an excuse

    While leaving, I contemted on her friend''s situation. Thinking deeply about Sheryl''s obvious
