Chapter 1972 Suspicious

    Chapter 1972 Suspicious

Charles knew he had to deal with it sooner orter. Not wanting to dy it any longer, he decided to go

    to the hospital.

At first, Charles still had some sympathy for Vicky, but it was gone as soon as it came. He didn''t expect

Vicky to be this bad. Feeling suspicious, he had asked David to look into her. They were surprised to

find her record was crystal clean—something Charles had an iffy feeling about.

Normally, Charles didn''t have a hard time digging up someone''s past. This was the first time that he''d

looked into a person and hade up with nothing.

    Naturally, he grew suspicious.

As he thought of this, he urged the driver to drive faster.

Upon hearing this, David turned his head and asked, "Mr. Lu, why are you in a hurry? What

    happened?"

"Nothing. Just help me deal with Vickyter." Charles couldn''t shake the feeling that something was

wrong. How could she lose all of her memory like that with just a slight bump to the head?

"All right. Mr. Lu, I''ll do whatever you ask me to," David said seriously to Charles.

After a momentary pause, Charles finally told David his n.

David didn''t know what to make of Charles'' n. He cast a meaningful look at Charles.

"What? Can''t you do it?" Charles said, looking David in the eye.

David immediately shook his head as he exined, "No. It''s just that I don''t know what to think."

"Do you also think that Vicky''s just pretending she''s lost her memory?" Charles prompted.

"No. I just think there''s something wrong with her. I''m afraid that we won''t be able to trick her," David

    said.

However, Charles merely grinned, seemingly confident of his n.

After a pause, Charles said, "Then don''t try to trick her. Just do what I tell you to do."

"All right, sir." David decided to let it go upon seeing the confidence on Charles''s face.

Half an hourter, they arrived at the hospital.

Vicky was talking to a nurse when they came in. She looked immediately happy the minute she saw

Charles. She jumped off the bed and flung herself at Charles, rubbing her face against his chest.

"Charles, I knew it. I knew you''de to visit me now that you''re done with work." Vicky acted as if

    she''d really expected Charles toe.

"Of course, I''vee. I have something to tell you." Charles suddenly became very serious.

Vicky had no idea what Charles was going to say. She suddenly looked serious too.

"Okay, Charles. Go ahead. I''m listening." Vicky looked at Charles with an innocent expression.

Charles didn''t say anything. He just looked back at David.

Upon seeing this, David stepped forward and handed the document in his hand to Charles before

nodding at Charles and stepping back again.

"I hired some psychological experts to test you. These are the results. It says nothing''s wrong with you,

and you didn''t really lose your memory. Can you exin that to me?" Charles looked at Vicky

    emotionlessly.

Naturally, one would have expected him to be furious right now. On the contrary, he looked quite calm

as if he wasn''t surprised at all.

"Charles, you don''t trust me?" Vicky didn''t back down. She suddenly looked hurt as if she wasn''t guilty

    at all.

"How could I trust you? You say you love me, but what you''re doing right now isn''t love!" Charles red

    at Vicky.

David took this opportunity to clear his throat and interrupt, "Miss Vicky, I went to see your doctor, and

    he said you''vepletely recovered."

    This made things more awkward.

Vicky looked at David nkly. She blinked her eyes and looked at Charles. "You''re trusting him, instead

of me? The doctor says I''ve recovered. Okay, fine, but that doesn''t mean that my memories havee

back. All I know is that you''re my husband."

Vicky looked at Charles with an innocent expression as if she was being wronged.

"I didn''t say that I didn''t trust you, but this is what the report says. What am I supposed to think? Are

you hiding anything from me?" A hint of suspicion shed across Charles''s face, and repulsion could

    be seen in his eyes.

"You don''t trust me!" Vicky stepped back to get away from Charles.

As she moved, Charles noticed a knife in her hand.

Charles didn''t know when she had gotten this knife or how she even got it in the first ce.

    "What are you doing?"

"Charles, if you don''t believe me, then I have nothing to live for." Vicky''s voice was high as she spoke.

She put the knife on her wrist.

Charles didn''t expect that this would happen. He didn''t intend for this to happen. Still, he eyed her

    coldly.

He decided to wait and see if she would really slice her wrists or not.

Upon noticing that not a single emotion could be seen on Charles''s face, Vicky narrowed her eyes and

grinned. She pressed the knife against her skin.

    Blood suddenly came dripping out.

    Charles was stunned.

"Put the knife down!" Charles looked at Vicky angrily.

    Vicky shook her head impatiently.

"Charles, why don''t you trust me? I''d rather be dead than have you treat me like this!" Vicky made a

gesture to show that she was going to cut deeper.

    Charles immediately stopped her.

"All right. Maybe the results are wrong. I should have believed you." Charles had no choice but to give

in. He couldn''t let her do anything else.

"David, call the doctor in," Charles instructed David.

"Okay, sir." Then David left the room.

Charles wrapped Vicky''s wrist with some gauze.

Vicky looked at Charles with tears in her eyes. She said, sobbing, "Charles, please trust me. I''m not

lying. I don''t remember anything that happened before. I don''t know how it happened."

    Vicky then burst into tears.

Charles decided he needed more time to expose her.

What had just happened only made Charles more suspicious.
