Chapter 1790 What Are Your Thoughts
I walked past Phoebe, smiled at her, and said, "Don''t worry. Sheryl will be fine. I''ll talk to her."
"Okay, Ms. Zhao. I''ll book your favorite western dish for lunch," Phoebe eximed.
Phoebe felt assured to hear that I would talk to Sheryl. The first thing that popped into her head was
to do something to make the day more endearing for both I and Sheryl. Hence, she offered to order
their favorite dish for lunch.
"Phoebe, you seem to be so concerned about Sheryl. Why don''t you care as much for me?" I
feigned displeasure on her face.
Phoebe pulled her face and smirked at I.
Her reaction did not go unnoticed. I smiled as she watched Phoebe from the corner of her eye; while
she strode ahead to Sheryl''s office. Taking long brisk steps, I barged in without even bothering to
knock on the door.
Inside Sheryl''s office, she was lost in thought. The sudden intrusion pulled her back from her reverie,
and she stiffened her torso immediately as a mark of alertness. She raised her head and saw that it
was I who had barged in. ''Right, it would be her. Who else would be so rude?'' Sheryl thought to
herself flippantly.
I had a stiff frown on her angry face.
"I, can you enter my office in a more polite manner?" Sheryl said indifferently.
"Sheryl, what''s wrong with you?" I out rightly ignored Sheryl''s question and continued to stare at her,
feigning an angry look.
Sheryl was bewildered for a moment and looked at I''s face for a clue. Then, she guessed that
Phoebe must have told I something. Knowing that I would not let this pass so easily, Sheryl
heaved a sigh and answered slowly, "rk said that he wanted to see Charles today. I didn''t know how
to tell him."
I''s face turned grim as she heard Sheryl speak. She pulled a chair in front of Sheryl''s desk and

heaved a sigh. With the frown still there on her face, she looked intently at Sheryl''s face and said,
"What are your thoughts? It is okay to let Charles see the kids, but you have to think carefully about
how you''re going to handle the rtionship between you and Charles."
All of a sudden, I became serious, and Sheryl felt as if the final bell in the examination had rung, and
she was yet toplete her paper. The feeling of ultimatum stung deep in her heart. She wasn''t
prepared for that yet. ''I is right. It is high time that I make up my mind. I can''t keep dragging this out
anymore. It seems to be our destiny to be separated. So why procrastinate? It''s better to break up with
him as soon as possible. Neither Charles nor I can make the final decision. That''s why the matter is still
dragging, '' Sheryl thought.
"Rest assured I. I know what to do." Sheryl forced a smile on her face as she tried to speak with
confidence. But her voice trembled, revealing her weakness.
I had her eyes fixed on Sheryl''s face as she knew that Sheryl was just pretending to be alright. ''Oh,
my goodness! She''s saying the same thing again. When can she just change and tell me the truth?''
I roared in her heart.
She was irritated to see Sheryl in the same indecisive condition. Suddenly, I rose from her seat and
banged her hands down on the table in a great fury.
Sheryl jumped with surprise in her seat as it was unexpected. She looked at I with her eyes wide
open in disbelief. Sheryl then feigned a pitiable expression on her face and said, "My dear, why are you
so angry?"
"Stop that Sheryl! Come on! I don''t believe that you can handle everything this well. Just tell me! What
do you really think about your rtionship with Charles?"
I was point-nk and blunt in her approach. She knew that as long as Le was entangled with
Charles in some way or the other, he would never be able to love Sheryl wholeheartedly. Hence, given
the situation, it would be better for Sheryl to stay away from Charles. Even though it was quite
unfortunate for Charles and Sheryl, who were so deeply in love with each other, to part ways like that.
Nevertheless, it would ensure one thing—at least Sheryl wouldn''t get hurt anymore.
However, Sheryl was still indecisive about the whole thing, and she felt extremely weary, even thinking
along those lines. Hence, when I forced her to think about this issue, she really had no idea what to
do. She just wanted to end their conversation. Atst, she said in a serious tone, "I, I understand
that you''re worried about me. But trust me, please. I know what I should do. Alright?"
Sheryl''s face had turned absolutely grim as she spoke. I had never seen her like that. She felt that
Sheryl was trying to create a wall around her so that no one could barge in. I kept staring at Sheryl
with her mouth agape.
Rising from her chair, Sheryl slowly walked over to I. She held I''s hand and beamed at her. "Dear
I, don''t you trust me?"
"I didn''t trust youst time because I was afraid that you wouldn''t be able to protect yourself.
Remember that whatever happens, you will always find me by your side. No one is allowed to hurt
you," I responded, her voice equally stern and serious, very different from her normal tone.
Sheryl was deeply touched by I''s words. She gave her a tight hug, and at the same moment, she fell
into deep thought. She couldn''t figure out what she should do now. She had lost control over the entire
matter—her fate wasn''t in her own hands.
The two friends continued to chat over other things before they went back to their respective work.
After lunch, I again came to Sheryl''s office for somepany matters.
However, Sheryl wasn''t in her office.
''She was in the office just now. Where could she have gone?'' I thought.
Just as I turned around to leave Sheryl''s office, she was stopped by back to back message alerts on
Sheryl''s phone, which was lying on the desk.
The repeated beeping sound from Sheryl''s mobile piqued I''s curiosity. She stepped back towards
Sheryl''s desk, thinking that it might be urgent and that Sheryl might not be back in a moment. I
picked up the phone from Sheryl''s desk and keyed in the password to unlock it.
When the screen was unlocked, a few messages popped up immediately.
As soon as the content of the messages was revealed on the phone screen, I''s eyes went wide
open. Gradually her face changed into a disgusted expression as she swiped across the screen. I
had expected to see some work-rted messages, but what she got to see was absolutely unexpected
and shocking, to say the least. In a matter of a few moments, Sheryl''s phone screen had been flooded
with photos of Le and Charles being intimate with each other.
The photos featured Le and Charles shopping for clothes. Every moment was meticulously captured
to show the candid bond between Le and Charles. Le helped him to size the clothes. And Charles
didn''t seem to reject such an intimate action!
I grew angry at seeing the growing closeness between the two. After the apparel shop, the two
seemed to have gone to a jewelry shop. There were photos of Charles helping Le put on a ne.
He seemed to be so gentle. And there was a hearty smile on Le''s face!
Arching her brows, I flipped through the photos. After a few repeated frames, I stopped at a shot
where Le was lying into Charles'' chest while watching a movie. I couldn''t help cursing out loud
with gritted teeth.
She was so infuriated that her entire body started to tremble. Her face went red; her eyes burned, and
her ears felt warm. Anger had taken control of her body, and she seemed to have lost control of her
own muscles. She tightened her grasp on Sheryl''s phone, otherwise, it would have fallen to the ground.
As I went through the photos, repeated message alerts were indicating that more photos had been
sent in.
She saw Charles and Le eating steak together.
And Charles was cutting the steak for Le! How could I stand that? ''Was he ever so caring for
Sheryl before?'' I thought to herself.
"Damn, Charles! Don''t you ever show up again! I''ll punch you to death!" I shouted in anger.
She then took a look at the number from which the photos were sent. It was a strange number. ''Who
could this person be? Is the person trying to anger Sheryl deliberately?'' I thought.
The same moment that she thought of calling the person back, a new message hit the inbox once
again.
She quickly opened the message and saw a huge cruise ship in the photo. However, there was no
Charles or Le.
I stared nkly at the cruise ship, trying to decipher what it meant. Just then, another message
popped up. The message read: "Do you want to see know where Le and Charles will be tomorrow?
Keep an eye on the cruise ship Twilight''s party tomorrow!"
