Chapter 1786 Book Tickets
Unsurprisingly, Le''s voice seeded in attracting Charles'' attention. At that moment, he turned
around and looked at Le, who was behind him. Upon seeing her lying on the floor, he came to her
quickly without any further thought. Frowning, he asked her, "What happened?"
"Nothing. I just couldn''t catch up with your pace, and I got so nervous that I eventually fell on the floor,"
Le said to Charles, while trying to keep the pain to herself.
Charles seemed unfazed, even after hearing Le''s words, but he still helped her stand up.
"Can you walk? Let''s go back then."
Charles didn''t seem to show any concern in his tone. He did instead sound annoyed.
"No need. I am fine. We rarely have a chance to hang out, and I don''t want to go back now. I will be
alright, as long as you walk slowly." Le looked Charles in the eyes with earnest expectation.
Deep down, she wished Charles could empathize with her, but her falling had simply ruined the vibe of
their date.
"Okay. I''m d to hear that you''re okay." Charles felt more at ease because he saw that Le was able
to walk after her fall. He didn''t walk as fast as before, either, which in turn made Le feel better.
They then continued to hang out for a while. Le thought that Charles considered leaving, but to her
surprise, he stopped in front of a jewelry store instead.
Charles paid close attention to every corner of the store, as he thought it was a nice store.
He looked at Le, who was standing next to him and recalled that she had taken care of Melissa these
past few days, so he nned to buy her a piece of jewelry to return the favor.
"Come in and have a look," said the poker-faced Charles to Le, finally breaking the long silence.
Le thought she had misheard what he had said, and as such, looked at Charles in disbelief.
Before she could even confirm it with Charles, he had entered the jewelry store shortly after speaking.
Le was overjoyed and couldn''t help but smile happily.
She was certain that Charles would buy a piece of jewelry for her because he asked her to go inside
the store.
Rather than overthink, Le felt it was better for her to just go inside and follow Charles; so, she didn''t
waste time and followed him in an instant.
The saleswoman in the jewelry store was excited to see a handsome man such as Charlesing in,
but that all changed right after she noticed Le''s presence behind him.
She seemed quite disappointed after realizing that this man had a girlfriend. "Happy for nothing" might
be suitable to describe her current situation.
After entering, Charles didn''t say a word, but he chose the jewelry carefully. Although he didn''t like
Le, he was picky and still felt the need to be selective in giving her something presentable as a gift.
Le perceived Charles'' behavior rather differently, though. She simply thought Charles took it
seriously, and she just got happy because of it. She stared at him with eyes full admiration all the time.
"Sir, Miss, what can I do for you?" The saleswoman offered Charles and Le her service because she
noticed that they were choosing things without saying anything.
As soon as the saleswoman spoke, Le turned her attention to her. Le, rather annoyed, responded
arrogantly, "Why the hurry? Can''t you see that we are choosing what to buy?"
Charles didn''t say a word, and Le-since she couldn''t ignore the saleswoman-continued to absent-
mindedly say whatever came to her mind.
Even after Le said all those things, Charles was still quiet. After a long while, though, he finally took a
fancy to something and pointed at a sapphire ne in front of him. Calling Le, who was following
him, he said, "Try it on, to see whether you like it."
"Are you going to buy it for me?"
Le had guessed that Charles would buy her a gift, but after knowing it was true, she felt so
indescribably happy that she almost burst intoughter.
She managed to contain hercency, though, and she reacted by shaking her head at Charles.
"Charles, no need. It''s too valuable."
Charles, still, didn''t say a word. Instead, he uplifted his jaw, nodding for Le to just try it on.
Le was aware that if she continued to refuse, it would make Charles think she was ungrateful, so she
nodded slightly and walked to the saleswoman.
Looking at this noble and expensive sapphire ne, Le was utterly excited.
She was about to put it on by herself, but the saleswoman suddenly joked, "Since your boyfriend gives
it as a gift to you, why don''t you let him put it on you?"
Le felt shy after hearing the saleswoman''s words. She looked at Charles, and his face became
unwilling. With his thin lips pursed, he still didn''t say a word.
Charles was notpletely callous. He still couldn''t turn a blind eye to Le''s care of Melissa.
If Le hadn''t looked after Melissa all this time, then he would not have been relieved, and his mother
wouldn''t have been so happy. So he had simply wanted to buy the ne as a gift to reciprocate for
Le''s kindness to his mother.
Since Charles remained silent, Le looked at him expectantly.
He raised his head and nced at Le, and their eyes met. He then picked up the ne from the
table where it convenientlyy, and walked up behind Le, pinning it around her neck.
Le touched the ne where it draped on her chest and turned around, asking Charles, "Is it
beautiful?"
"Hmm," Charles answered indifferently without changing his expression.
"I like it very much. Thanks, Charles." Le looked at Charles bashfully.
Seeing that Le liked it, Charles asked the saleswoman to pack it. After purchasing the ne, they
walked out of the jewelry store.
"Charles, thank you." Le still felt grateful because Charles bought her a gift, and couldn''t help but
express her gratitude again after leaving the store.
"You are wee. I gave you a gift just because you took good care of my mother. Don''t think too
much." Charles was afraid that Le would overthink, so he expressed his concern with his indifferent
face.
This is from N?velDrama.Org.
Le felt embarrassed after hearing that, so she just kept silent and followed Charles.
They walked for a while, and then Le grabbed Charles'' sleeve nervously. He stopped walking, and
then she smiled. "Charles, it''s still too early to go back now. Let''s see a movie, okay?"
Afterward, Le looked at Charles with genuinely high expectations.
Charles nced at Le and noticed it in her eyes. Although he wanted to refuse, he thought if he
could meet Le''s every want today, he wouldn''t owe her anymore. So he nodded slightly and agreed
to do what she wanted.
"Charles, is that a yes?" Le stared at Charles in disbelief because she didn''t expect him to agree so
easily. She waspletely mystified.
"Hmm, just book tickets then."
Charles'' tone was still cold, but to Le, it was enough. She started to book tickets joyfully and then
went to the nearby cinema with him.
