Chapter 1723 Aron’s Opinion On Sheryl’s Decision
Waiting downstairs, Aron started to run out of patience. I still hadn''te back. He couldn''t help but
grow more and more concerned. Finally, as he decided to go and find her, I hastily came down to
him.
Aron rxed the second he saw I. Surprised, he asked, "What happened in there?"
"Nothing, don''t worry about that. Listen, Sheryl''s kids are so naughty! Sheryl almost lost her temper.
How can I know if they''re telling the truth? You know what kids at their age are like!" I said as she
walked with Aron toward the car. Aron unlocked the car door for I and carefully helped her get in.
When I had settled in, Aron started the engine and drove away.
Aron didn''t fully understand what I was trying to prove. Still, he tried his best to talk to her. "Sheryl''s
kids are really smart. Maybe too smart for their age, don''t you think?"
"Definitely. They''re way too smart for their age. Have you ever seen someone younger behave like
that? They had nned to get Sheryl and Charles back together, right under our noses, and we didn''t
even notice it!"
While I was happy for Sheryl and her smart kids, she still worried about her. Smart kids tended to be
sensitive, so Sheryl needed to work extra hard to protect her kids and make sure that they would be
fine, and give them the best life she could.
"Well, you should stop worrying about Sheryl, okay? She can handle herself." Aron grabbed I''s hand
tofort her.
I immediately lit up at Aron''s touch. She lifted her head and shed him a smile. She could feel his
love and care at this moment. She nodded her head and agreed to not worry about it anymore.
Now that I was feeling better, Aron asked her to tell him the whole story again. After I had
finished, he finally understood why she was concerned. He thought hard, too—he was an optimistic
man, who always found a way to look at the bright side.
He knew how difficult life could get. However, he believed that as long as two people loved each other
and trusted one another, they could get through anything. He didn''t think divorce was the right choice
for Sheryl and Charles. He was strongly against it as he believed that they could still fix it. After all, they
had two kids together.
Aron suddenly said to I, "Can you help me in convincing them not to go through with the divorce? I
really don''t think they should do it."
I was just getting ready to nap and had closed her eyes. However, upon hearing what Aron had said,
she sat up and frowned at him. Her eyes had widened. She replied, raising her voice, "Do you want me
to die? Can you imagine what Sheryl would do to me if I did that? I''d be going behind her back!"
"Don''t be so crazy! Sheryl is reasonable. She''s just a bit confused right now, but I''m sure she''ll be back
to normal in no time, and then she''ll know the right thing to do. You''re her best friend. She''ll listen to
you if talked to properly. Maybe, they won''t end up going through with the divorce!" Aron lowered his
voice. He tried to stay calm as he talked to I as he didn''t want to end up arguing with her.

"I know Sheryl, better than you do! She''ll never forgive me if I betrayed her. Charles has already done
it! Twice! She''s caught him having an affair with Le, twice! She won''t be able to take it if I turn on her
too. She''s had enough!" I snapped as she rolled her eyes.
"Fine, fine! Just ignore what I said!" Aron didn''t push it anymore when he saw the look on I''s face.
Aron gathered himself and didn''t say any more. Meanwhile, I was lost in her own thoughts. She
knew what would happen if she did as Aron wanted her to. While she also didn''t think divorce was the
right thing to do for Sheryl and Charles, she had to respect Sheryl''s decision, and that was the best
thing she could do for Sheryl right now.
Sheryl was also struggling in her head. After I had left, she continued to think closely about her
decision. To her kids, her choice was selfish; but she couldn''t put up with Charles anymore. Between
her and Charles, they could never forget what had happened!
She frantically shook her head to clear her mind of Charles. She only wanted to focus on the kids.
After a while, Alex quietly walked out of the kids'' bedroom. She said as she gave her regards to Sheryl,
"Mrs. Xia, the kids are asleep now. You should go rest now while it''s still early."
"Okay, thank you. You must be tired as well. You should also get some sleep," Sheryl said with a smile.
Alex meaningfully gazed at Sheryl. She opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something, but she
decided against it. She just nodded and then left the dining room.
Sheryl was alone now. Right away, she prepared to go to bed.
Ever since she and Charles had fought, she had experienced trouble falling asleep.
At the gate of the kindergarten
Charles had been waiting since he''d arrived from his visit to Cloud Advertising Company.
He didn''t know where to go. He couldn''t think of any ce else where he''d find peace besides this
ce.
He still wished that what Sheryl had said wasn''t true. He had trouble epting and believing that
Shirley had been kidnapped. He wished that Sheryl was just lying to him, and Shirley was just at school
as usual. He hoped he''d see Shirley here today, and he also hoped that he would see Sheryl.
Charles was left with no choice but to just hope.
He was just crossing his fingers and wishing with all his might.
In Dream Garden
Melissa and Le felt uneasy. They had been waiting in the dining room for Charles toe back.
Even though they were already both so tired, they just waited patiently.
The longer they waited, the more tense they got. They noticed even the tiniest sounds. Their heads
would raise at the smallest sound. They always looked, and they always ended up disappointed.
Charles was nowhere to be found.
"Aunt Melissa, why don''t you just go to bed? It''s gettingte. I''ll just wait for Charles here," Le
suggested. She''d noticed that Melissa was getting tired of waiting.
Le herself was tired too, and it seemed as if Charles still wasn''t willing to let Sheryl go. She couldn''t
help but feel upset; however, her heart was telling her to wait it out.
"I''m just worried about him. He''s been out for a while, and he isn''t answering his phone. What if
something happened to him?" Melissa said, worried.
Le''s heart sank when she heard what Melissa said. After all, Melissa was right.
"Auntie, don''t worry about it too much. Charles will be all right!" Le inched closer to Melissa and held
her hand tofort her.
"No, I have to make sure that my son''s fine. I can''t just wait like this, sitting around and doing nothing.
Le, can you please call David and ask him to connect me to Charles?" Melissa held Le''s hand
tightly as she asked. Her expectant eyes made Le unable to refuse her request.
Helpless, Le nodded her head. She smiled at Melissa as she fumbled in her handbag to look for her
phone.
Le didn''t really get along with David. It was already sote at night that Le wasn''t sure if David
would even pick up her call at all. Melissa was asking a very difficult favor from her.
Le and Melissa sank into silence, as the phone kept ringing. David wasn''t picking up.
Running out of patience, Melissa asked anxiously, "Le, why isn''t David answering your call?"
"Well, I don''t know. Maybe it''s justte, and he''s already asleep!" Le replied. She sounded like she
was just making up ame excuse. In the end, she decided to end the call since David wasn''t picking
up anyway.
It didn''t help with how worried Melissa was getting that Le wasn''t able to reach David. She got to her
feet and started to pace back and forth in the room. She murmured, "What should we do now? Where
could Charles be? If something really bad happened to him, I couldn''t imagine…"
Le, meanwhile, was still calm. She didn''t know why Melissa was getting so worried. Everything
seemed fine to her. Melissa was just overthinking all of this.
