Chapter 1713 Changing
As Cassie apologized and lifted her head, she was surprised to see that it was Le.
"It''s you!" they eximed at the same time.
After straightening her clothes, Le looked at Cassie with pride andmented, "How unlucky!"
Cassie was in a good mood and had nned to have dinner with Nick. However, meeting Le now,
reminded her that Charles and Le was the reason why Sheryl was withered and tired these days.
When she saw Le here, her mood changed to bad at once.
"I have no time to deal with you." Rolling her eyes, Cassie turned around to leave.
Offended, Le strode ahead and blocked Cassie''s way, her expression suggesting that Cassie
shouldn''t leave until she said so.
"Le, stop it. I don''t want to bother you, and neither do you." Cassie tried her best to control herself.
She didn''t want to give a bargaining chip to others, which might cause trouble for Sheryl. Now, with
Le provoking her, she didn''t think that she could ignore her anymore.
"Do you think I can''t do anything to you because you stand with Sheryl? Cassie, listen, you tell Sheryl
to divorce from Charles as soon as possible. Doesn''t she feel ashamed that she has lost the status of
the Shining Company''s CEO''s wife?" Furious, Le took on Cassie.
"Le, if Charles loved you, he should have let the public know about it. But look, even if you stay with
him, you''re just his secretary. Which part of it are you proud of?" Knowing she had said enough, Cassie
pushed Le away and left the toilet.
Herments made Le more furious, but she also knew that Cassie was right. If she hadn''t yed
tricks, Charles would have already driven her away.
Feeling so angry, Le stamped her foot. Looking at Cassie''s back and clenching her fists, she said to
herself, "Let''s wait and see. I won''t let you go. All of you!"
When Cassie arrived, Nick had already ordered the dishes. He had been happy waiting, but he now felt
worried when seeing her expression. Standing up, he asked, "What happened?"
"I don''t feel like eating anymore. Let''s go!" Cassie said, pulling Nick out of the restaurant.
Nick didn''t know what happened, but when he saw Cassie was so angry, he didn''t ask and just followed
her.
After they left the restaurant, they quietly got into the car.
Nick hesitated for a while, knowing that Cassie was upset. Finally, he asked, "What''s wrong?"
"I''m okay. I just saw a mad dog and got bitten," Cassie answered, still angry.
Frowning, Nick continued to ask, "Who did you meet just now?"
"Le! She is a homewrecker. How dare she nder Sher? I''m so angry, I want to strangle her!" Cassie
had always been angry at Le. If Nick had not asked her to be calm when she previously met the Lu
Family, she would have pped Le through her face.
"That bitch is not worth our time. Let''s go and have dinner with Sher instead." Hearing Cassie''s
friends, they should try to not to cause her any trouble.
The media imed that Sheryl wasn''t loyal to their marriage, so Charles wanted to divorce with her. If
at this moment, Sheryl got involved in other scandals, she would be in a more difficult situation. So Nick
thought they should try their best to control themselves.
"Okay, take it easy. I understand. That''s why I decided to walk away from trouble. Let''s go have dinner
with Sher." Cassie calmed down after leaving the restaurant. Feeling the wind blow slightly on her face,
she feltpletely fine now.
Soon, they arrived at the Cloud Advertising Company. After speaking with Phoebe, they were surprised
to learn that Sheryl had already left. Confused, since it was unusual for Sheryl to not stay at the
The phone rang but Sheryl never picked up, making Nick more anxious and concerned.
"What''s up? Didn''t Sher answer?" Cassie couldn''t help asking, seeing Nick''s expression.
Nick shook his head and called I next.
"I, do you know where Sher is now?" Nick asked as soon as I picked up. He was very worried
about Sheryl.
"She is with me now. Is anything wrong?" I asked, hearing Nick''s anxious tone. Lifting her head, she
looked at Sheryl, who was sitting in front of her, and felt relieved.
Hearing I''s confirmation, Nick was relieved, too.
"Where are you now? Cassie and I wille over," Nick said calmly.
I gave Nick their address and hung up.
Getting back into the car, Nick and Cassie drove to where I and Sheryl were.
The aromatic vor of aniseed, cinnamon and other spices filled the air. Chinese paintings were
embroidered on the wall panels of the restaurant, while curved benches with refined cream brocade
stood on a soft rug.
Sheryl was busy eating when she realized that I was looking at her. Putting down her chopsticks,
she asked, "What happened?"
"What''s wrong with your phone? Nick said that he called you just now, but he didn''t get through, so he
was very worried." Pretending to be angry, I definitely caught Sheryl''s attention.
Taking out her phone, Sheryl found out that it had no signal. She shrugged helplessly and said, "No
bars."
"Sher, you know what? You totally changed since that night. We all worry about you, but you just
pretend that everything is okay. But you know, you''re making us more worried." I had kept her
thoughts to herself these past few days, but she couldn''t bear to stay quiet about it today.
"I''m really fine. You think too much. What can I do?" Sheryl said, with an innocent expression.
"You guys, I really don''t know what to do." I let out a helpless sigh and shook her head.
"Well,e on. Eat your food. Don''t be an old witch," Sheryl said in a yful tone.
"We are all worried about you, but you don''t look affected," Imented. She then lowered her
head and continued having dinner.
I didn''t see the sorrow shing through Sheryl''s eyes. Not wanting to have her friends worry about
her anymore, Sheryl tried hard to control herself. On that night, if not for her children, she would have
left this city. But as a mother, she knew it was too selfish to deny her children the chance to see their
father.
Soon, Nick and Cassie arrived.
The four of them enjoyed dinner together. Afterward, Nick drove Cassie to work while I brought
Sheryl back to the Cloud Advertising Company.
Along the way, Sheryl''s phone kept ringing. However, every time it rang, Sheryl just cancelled the call.
I didn''t say a word, thinking it must be from Charles. She knew that Charles had been trying to get in
touch with Sheryl these past few days, but Sheryl kept ignoring his calls.
