Chapter 1695 Will You Marry Me
Last night, Holley had wanted to support ck and help him get to sleep in the bedroom, but he was
too drunk, so she was unable to move him. She had no choice but to help change his clothes and let
him sleep in the living room all night.
ck didn''t care where he was sleeping though. He knew that Holley cared about him, which was
enough for him.
"Holley, will you marry me?" ck suddenly got up and walked over to Holley, asking her this without
another thought.
Holley was surprised to hear what ck had asked her. She raised her head and looked into his eyes.
Her heart pounded like a drum and she was left speechless.
"Holley, I''m serious. So, will you marry me?" ck saw that Holley remained silent and thought that she
didn''t believe him, so he repeated his question.
"Let''s just have breakfast now," Holley said, brushing ck''s hand off her shoulder.
ck saw Holley''s reaction and thought that she was not willing to marry him. Then he walked to the
dining room table in low spirits. Although he had breakfast as she told him, he bowed his head the
whole time, like a deted ball.
Why was Holley unwilling to marry him? If she could marry ck, she would have everything, and he
loved her so much. She didn''t have any reason to refuse him.
Ferry frightened her, though. She didn''t want to live with the threat of him looming over her, so she
couldn''t dare agree to marry ck.
When they had almost finished eating, Holley noticed ck''s depressed expression and then coughed.
"After I handle everything that''s troubling me, I will consider marrying you."
"Holley, are you serious?" ck sat straight up all of a sudden and looked at Holley in surprise.
Holley had just said that casually, but ck took it seriously. It appeared that he was satisfied with even
such a vague answer if it meant there was a chance.
"Hmm." Holley hesitated for a moment before she looked at him and nodded.
"Holley, I will wait for you..." ck mumbled.
In fact, ck hadn''t forgotten what had happened in the bar that night, but he didn''t dare to ask her to
exin. He was afraid that if he asked, Holley would leave him, so he would rather pretend as if
nothing had happened.
"Okay, I''m done eating. I''m going to work, but you should continue to rest a bit before going out." After
saying that, Holley got up and prepared to leave.
ck walked over to her and held her in his arms. "Holley, do you know how much I love you?"
Hearing ck express his love for her, Holley suddenly couldn''t bear to hurt him again.
"I''m going to work now." Holley couldn''t avoid it so she had to force a smile. Then, she walked around
ck and left.
After ck saw Holley off, the smile on his face disappeared instantly. He looked at the door helplessly
and sighed to himself.
Back at Dream Garden, Charles was in a bad mood.
Charles wanted to dy the divorce. Even when he had received theyer''s letter, he pretended not to
have received it. He couldn''t escape what would eventually happen, though. The court had informed
him that he had toe today.
The case regarded his and Sheryl''s divorce, so it was mandatory for him to go.
Early in the morning, Charles got the news and felt depressed. He sat on the couch in a rage and
remained silent as he was deep in thought.
"Charles, Sheryl has gone too far. You have to go to court now. Don''t make hercent." Melissa
noticed Charles'' expression and couldn''t stop herself from weighing in on the situation. She started to
talk endlessly after that.
"I''m not going."
Charles didn''t mind Melissa''s advice, but still put on a long face.
"Charles, why are you hesitating? The court has informed you that you have to go, and you don''t have
a real reason to refuse." Since Charles was unwilling to go, Melissa was anxious.
Le stood there silently the whole time. She was silently thinking that she had to persuade Charles to
go. While thinking, she walked to Charles with a worried look on her face. "Charles, even if you want to
pretend that you never got the summons from the court, the media will find out that you''re avoiding it
and will make a big deal. If you don''t show up on time, the public will probably guess that you''re trying
to drag things out. It will harm thepany."
Melissa nodded and then said, "She''s right. Charles, even if you don''t want to have a divorce, you have
to show up for the court hearing. The consequences will be unimaginable if you don''t."
After saying this, they both waited anxiously for Charles to answer them.
Seeing that Charles just looked back at them and didn''t say a word, Melissa was filled with worry.
Suddenly, she thought of something and held her chest, starting to cough.
"Hem..."Property ? N?velDrama.Org.
"Aunt Melissa, what''s wrong? Are you okay?" Le asked in concern, and she immediately ran over to
Melissa to support her.
"Le, I am fine. I am just mad at Sheryl. The Lu Family has never suffered like this before. Charles, is
that the woman you love? Do you really want Sheryl and just n to abandon your mother?" Then
Melissa looked at Charles, with a sad face.
Charles couldn''t help but notice that his mother was in pain.
"Mother, are you okay?" Charles walked up as he was worried and prepared to check on Melissa.
Melissa dodged him in a hurry. She didn''t want to let Charles approach her.
"Don''t touch me. Are you going to court, or not?" Melissa stared at Charles, not giving him a chance to
refuse going.
Charles gave in immediately and looked at Melissa. "Okay, Mother, I''ll go to the court hearing. Don''t be
mad, okay?"
"Really?"
Melissa perked up a little and her eyes became softer.
"Hmm. I am going now, then. Mother, please, take care of yourself." Charles turned to Le and said,
"Look after my mother."
"Okay, Charles. Go now and don''t worry about us. I will take good care of Aunt Melissa." Le assured
Charles obediently.
Charles was still really unwilling to go to court, but he had to consider Melissa''s health.
Of course, what Melissa had said to him just then was not enough to really affect him, but he couldn''t
be so selfish as to make his mother feel terrible. So, even if Charles was sad, he still had to go to the
court hearing.
Melissa watched Charles as he walked out of Dream Garden. Then she told the driver, "Hurry up and
follow him. Don''t let Charles drive by himself. You need to drive."
"Yes, My Lady." Hearing what Melissa said, the driver nodded and then ran to catch up with Charles.
Melissa saw the car speeding away and finally sighed with relief. After a long while, she turned back
around and asked Le, "Do you think they will really be getting a divorce?"
"Aunt Melissa, don''t worry. Sheryl is tough and will insist on doing what she wants to do. Charles is a
man, so if a woman insists on divorcing him, regardless of anything else, he will be angry and perhaps
agree to get a divorce," Le said to Melissa. Herment wasn''t just for Melissa''s benefit, but also to
<pfort herself.
