Chapter 1692 Rex’s Rage

    Chapter 1692 Rex’s Rage

Phoebe nodded at I, and sighed. "Mrs. Zhao, Sheryl''s just pretending she''s fine, but I can tell she

    really isn''t."

I looked at Phoebe and then shot her eyes towards Sheryl''s office. A wave of sympathy rose in her

heart. She agreed with Phoebe—she could tell Sheryl was just pretending, but deep inside, there was

turmoil. Sheryl had to meet Ferry''s demands, and divorcing Charles wasn''t an easy decision to make.

I figured that Sheryl must be under a lot of pressure right now, and her divorce with Charles was

what she thought about the most.

"Okay, I know. You should get back to work. I will go and talk to her." I made her way toward Sheryl''s

    office after she spoke.

The door of the office was usually open. As Sheryl''s best friend and her working partner, I didn''t

bother knocking—she just entered Sheryl''s office.

"Sher, I heard you''ve sent out your letter from thewyer. Are you really going to divorce Charles?" I

    asked, with a concerned look.

Sheryl knew it must be Phoebe who''d told her so she wasn''t surprised when I asked her. Instead,

she was even relieved. She''d expected that I would find out sooner orter.

After a pause, Sheryl dropped the pen she was holding, raised her head, and said with a nod, "Yes, I

am. The sooner, the better. It will be better for both me and Charles."

"But are you really sure that you won''t regret this?" I seemed concerned. She knew how much

Sheryl loved Charles. She found it difficult that Sheryl would leave Charles just like that.

"I have to! Do I have another option?" Sheryl got emotional. It was thest topic she wanted to touch

on. But since I brought it up, Sheryl wouldn''t just say no. Despite all the turmoil inside, she managed

    a smile.

I knew Sheryl was running out of options. She understood that Sheryl was seeking a way out and

what she had chosen to do seemed to be the only way. However, it seemed that Sheryl didn''t realize

she had fallen into Ferry''s trap.

"Can''t we just figure out another way?" I argued, her face anxious.

She really felt for Sheryl. Even though I had no idea what it was like for Sheryl, she could only

imagine, and she felt frustrated for her best friend.

"It''s fine, don''t worry about it. We were bound to get divorced anyway. It was just a matter of time. You

know I don''t get along with Melissa, and now she has Le who doesn''t like me either. This is the way

it''s supposed to be," Sheryl said rather calmly.

I couldn''t help but frown. Her nose twitched as she racked her mind trying toe up with

    something to say.

"Sher, why do you have to be so hard on yourself? You know you can''t live without Charles!" I

started to question why God had treated Sheryl so unfairly.

Sheryl had gone through so much, and it seemed like she was just going through obstacle after

obstacle. Even when it looked like Sheryl was finally going to be happy, it neversted long. She

always wound up with another problem of some sort. I couldn''t help but feel sorry for Sheryl. She

wrapped Sheryl in a tight embrace.

Sheryl was taken aback. However, she soon realized what I was probably thinking. Sheryl reached

out to return her hug. Before I could say anything, Sheryl said, "I, you don''t have to worry about

me. I''m fine!" Sheryl gave her a wry smile.

I gently pulled back her arms and nodded with a smile. "That''s great! I knew you would get over it!"

Sheryl felt relieved to see I''s smile. She didn''t want I to worry about her anymore.

They fixed themselves and started to get back to work.

    This is from N?velDrama.Org.

Sheryl was running the Cloud Advertising Company very well these days. They had even made a great

deal of profit from Sheryl expanding the business. She also carefully dealt with every contract. Before

anything was approved, they had to get both Sheryl and I''s permission. Thus, they were working

very hard and spending most of their nights at the office.

Meanwhile, Shining Company wasn''t exactly doing well.

The project with Star Company had way too many problems so that even Charles was stumped as to

what to do. As a result, Charles was in the worst mood. A manager from a department had reported to

Charles in his office and identally had gotten a number wrong—Charles annihted him.

"How can you let this mistake slip by you? You''re all just getting more ipetent as each day passes.

I should really start getting rid of useless people like you!" Charles roared in anger. He tossed the

document back to the department manager, and all the papers scattered all over the floor.

The manager trembled in fear. He nervously knelt and started picking up the sheaves of paper. When

he got on his feet again, he bit his tongue when he saw the look on Charles'' face. He didn''t know what

    to say.

"Are you just going to stay here and stare at me? Get your ass out there and do something about that

stupid mistake of yours, or do you want me to hold your hand as you do it?" Charles barked.

The manager quivered. He stumbled a few steps back, before he finally gathered up the courage to

look up at Charles. Intimidated by his stony gaze, the poor manager cowardly replied, "Of course, I will

do it by myself. I know what to do, and I''m going to do it now!"

The manager trotted out of Charles'' office with his head lowered.

After the door was shut, Charles leaned back against the chair. Suddenly, he felt exhausted. His

personal life was a mess, and so was his career. His business was in trouble, and he felt like

everything was out of his hands. He couldn''t help but feel frustrated.

The project with Star Company kept running into problems. Someone was obviously behind it. Charles

just didn''t know who. Even though he''d asked his men to find out, they still hadn''t found anything. They

still had no leads, so he had no idea how to deal with all this. He felt rather exposed when he knew that

his enemy was lurking somewhere in the shadows.

It had been another busy day for Charles. In the evening, he had a very important business dinner to

    attend.

As Charles was briefly checking the agenda, Le made her way to Charles'' office. With a small smile,

she reminded him gently, "Charles, it''s time to leave. We need to go to the hotel now."

"What?" Charles raised his eyes, as he questioned. He looked suspicious. He thought he''d told Le to

    not go with him.

"Well, David''s been off duty because of some emergency since earlier this afternoon. So he asked me

to take his ce and apany you to the dinner," Le said lightly.

Charles kept gazing hesitantly at Le and thought for a while. With a gentle knock on the table, he

agreed and nodded, "Okay, let''s prepare first before we leave."

Charles didn''t want to waste any time thinking about silly things. Even though he didn''t want Le to

    At Rex''s residence

Rex gathered his men in front of him and asked them to report what was happening. These guys had

tailed Holley the whole day, yet they hadn''t found anything. Unfortunately, they had no choice but to

    face Rex despiteing empty-handed.

"Well, how about the things that happened to herst night?" Rex pressed, his voice was firm and

stern. He was disappointed that his men weren''t able to find anything.

One of the guys stepped forward. He touched his hair and said respectfully, "Boss, Holley went to

Ferry''s vist night and spent the night there."

Rex flew into a terrible rage upon hearing this. He smacked his hand heavily onto the table, as he shot

a spiteful look at his men.

They all lowered their heads. They could feel the tension as they waited for Rex to speak again.

Rex was furious that Holley had stayed in Ferry''s vi for the night. He could only imagine what she

had done that night with Ferry.

''What kind of woman is that! She hooks up with ck and then turns around and sleeps with other

men! How dare she y ck like that!''

Then he mmed his fist on the table again and ordered, "I order you to bring Holley to see me! Do

what you have to do. Just bring her to me!"

"Yes, boss!" the men responded in unison. They quickly disappeared as they headed toward Holley''s

    house.

Lying on the bed, Holley felt weak and lifeless. The things that Ferry had done to herst night had

drained her. As she recalled them in her head, and she couldn''t help but blush in embarrassment.
