Chapter 1684 Filing For Divorce

    Chapter 1684 Filing For Divorce

I saw that Sheryl was in tremendous pain, and asked in a worried tone, "Are you okay?"

"I''m fine. I, just leave Le alone for now," Sheryl said with a serious expression, hoping that I

    would do what she said.

I burst intoughter. She gave a smile of utter contempt, and said, "Do you think I''m afraid of that

    woman?"

"I, it''s not out of fear. It''s just not worth our time to deal with her." Nick saw Sheryl''s pained

expression, so he tried to intercede on her behalf to preserve the peace.

"Well, we''re okay now. If she causes more trouble, I won''t spare her though." I knew that it was

better for Sheryl if she let it go, so she chose to control herself.

Sheryl was worried about I, so she let Josef escort her back home.

After they left, Nick said, "Sher, don''t worry. I''ll go to the police station and handle everything."

"Don''t push her hard. I worry that she''ll do something more aggressive if things get worse. Just warn

    her to stop meddling."

Sheryl wasn''t being merciful, but she had no time to fight with Le, so she chose to reconcile instead.

"I understand, Sher, so don''t worry. I''ll help you go upstairs." Then, Nick helped Sheryl get upstairs.

After Sheryl fell asleep, Nick went to the police station.

The men had been sent to prison, so Nick waited for the police to take Le.

    After a while, Le arrived.

"Did you set a trap to catch me?" Le asked, pointing at his nose.

"Are you kidding? You''re the one who ys such tricks," Nick used with a contemptuous smile. He

had no idea that Le would choose to behave like that.

"Sir, he has something against me, so he ys awful tricks on me. I didn''t do anything today, and I

stayed at home all day. You can verify that any way you want. You can check my phone to see whether

I called those men or not," Le said in a very anxious tone.

The policeman looked at Le and then turned to Nick. The he said, "You can leave now. We have

taken the statements, so it''s none of your business now. We''ll handle it from here."

"No, I have to find out who wanted to kill my sister. I must find out who that person is," Nick said while

staring at Le in an using manner.

"Why are you staring at me? It''s not me!" Nick was staring so intensely at her that Le''s expression

    became panicky.

"Well, we''ll find the truth eventually. We''ll investigate it thoroughly. You just go back and wait for us to

call." The policeman saw that they seemed about to begin fighting each other, so he asked Nick to go.

Nick felt helpless, so he walked out of the police station, but he didn''t leave yet. He remembered what

Sheryl had said, so he waited for Le.

After about one hour, Le was quite absentminded as she walked out of the police station.

"Are you worried about getting in trouble for what you have done?" Nick saw Le lower her head, so

he strode out in front of her and barred her way.

Le hadn''t expected that Nick would have waited there for her until now. She raised her eyes and

    stared directly at him.

"Don''t pester me!" Le said furiously.

"Le, listen, we didn''t show the evidence to the police today, because my sister is kind. If you aren''t

grateful and continue to cause trouble, we won''t be so merciful next time." Nick wasn''t just threatening

Le--he meant what he said. Then, he took out some pictures and threw them at Le.

Le caught a glimpse of the photos. She suddenly felt panicked because the pictures had recorded

that she made deals with those men. She never knew that they had been spied on during those deals.

Le was so unlucky. Nick had finally found a photographer to follow her, and by ident, he took the

    photos.

"You can see how serious we are now. We have enough evidence to put you in prison. You''d better

stay quiet. If you take any further action against Sher or I, I''ll show these pictures to Charles. You

can guess what will happen then," Nick said, with confidence in his eyes.

Le felt her throat tightened and couldn''t utter any words in response.

Seeing her expression, Nick continued, saying, "You''d better conduct yourself better from now on."

As Nick left the police station, he felt confused. ''Why hasn''t Sheryl shown those pictures to Charles?

Le would not have a fighting chance if she did, '' Nick thought to himself.

He couldn''t understand it. He believed that, if Charles knew everything, including what had happened

to Cassie, Le would have to be sent away.

At that moment, Cassie called him. Nick shook his head and got rid of those ideas in his head.

    "How is Sher?"

A few hours before, as Cassie was having dinner with Nick, she received I''s call. I had said that

she and Sheryl were being tracked. Cassie was so worried that she asked Nick to go help them.

"Don''t worry. It''s all okay now, so I''ll be heading back now."

    "Okay!"

Hearing what he said, Cassie was relieved.

At the police station''s gate, Le picked up the pictures from the ground and got in a car.

Once she got into the car, Le tore the photos into pieces.

Le had been so furious that she had asked someone to beat I up. That decision got her found out

and put a bargaining chip right into her enemy''s hand. Le got angrier and sped up.

She was careless this time around. She knew that she couldn''t take any action against I. If she did,

they would really expose the evidence against her. Then, she would have nothing to say to defend

    herself.

Over the next few days, nothing happened.

Charles and Melissa got released from the hospital, but Sheryl didn''t visit the hospital.

Sheryl was at the Cloud Advertising Company building now.

She was upset and couldn''t focus on the contract. Then, she put it aside, pressed her hand to her

forehead, and frowned while letting out a sigh.

Those days, there was no news from Charles, but Sheryl couldn''t wait anymore. Ferry was in a hurry,

but Charles didn''t reveal what he had decided to do. She knew that she couldn''t wait anymore.

"Phoebe,e to my office," Sheryl called and asked Phoebe toe in.

After a moment, Phoebe knocked on the door and came in.

"Hello, what''s up?" Phoebe stood in front of Sheryl and waited to hear what she wanted.

"Find thewyer, and send Charles a letter about the situation. I''m going to file for divorce,"

Sheryl said calmly, and then she continued working.

Phoebe wondered whether she had misunderstood Sheryl''s words, so she looked surprised.

After a moment, Sheryl saw that Phoebe had given no answer. She raised her eyes and looked back

    up at her. "Go now."

Sheryl knew what Phoebe was thinking, but she didn''t want to exin it at all.

Phoebe gritted her teeth, and hesitated for a moment. Then she asked, "Ma''am, are you sure?"
