Chapter 1662 Stalking
Charles answered all of Le''s questions. Then he squinted and asked anxiously, "What happened?
Why is my mom in such poor health?"
The doctor had just stopped by to tell him that Melissa''s health had only gotten worse.
Charles wondered what had happened during hisa. He wanted to know what had caused this.
Le looked at Charles in embarrassment. She opened her mouth a few times, but nothing came out.
Seeing Le''s hesitance, Charles sensed that she knew something. He furrowed his brows and asked,
"Le, tell me what happened."
Charles red at Le. He didn''t bother to hide how angry and annoyed he was.
"Charles, Aunt Melissa has been draining herself recently, and she''s been worrying a lot too. That''s
why she gets sick a lot. She even fainted a few days ago, but she wouldn''t let me tell you because she
didn''t want you to worry. I didn''t want to call for a doctor either, because I don''t want Aunt Melissa to get
any bad news, in case she is really sick or something. Have you called the doctor? What did the doctor
say?" Le averted her eyes from Charles'' gaze as she spoke. When she identally caught Charles''
eye once, she immediately looked away.
"The same thing you told me. I want to know how this happened." Charles red at Le.
Le bit her lip and continued, "It''s because of Sheryl."
"What do you mean?" Upon hearing his wife''s name, he narrowed his eyes and pressed Le for more
information.
Le felt nervous and ufortable as Charles red at her. She tried her best to keep calm. She
gathered all of her courage, looked at Charles and said firmly, "When you were still in aa, Sheryl
treated Aunt Melissa so badly. And Sheryl was very close with Lewis back then. Sheryl and Lewis often
saw each other in the hospital, and it goaded Aunt Melissa. So she dealt with a lot, and she was
worrying a lot too."
Le saw Charles had lower his head. It seemed as if he was lost in thought.
She told Charles everything about Sheryl and Lewis. Of course, not all of this was true. Le was
exaggerating her stories.
The more Charles listened to Le, the more gloomy his face became. When Le had finally finished
speaking, Charles lifted his head and looked at Le sharply.
It made Le shiver. She quickly averted her gaze.
Charles asked coldly, "Did you really think that I would believe you?"
"I know you won''t. But why would I lie to you? There are pictures and videos about them all over the
Inte. You can Google them if you don''t believe me. Plus, you can also ask your employees at the
Charles.
Charles started to doubt himself. It seemed as if for once, Le was telling the truth.
He remained silent. There was confusion in his eyes. After a long pause, he said to Le, "Okay, I got
it. Can you go and take care of my mom first? Tell me if anything happens."
Charles asked Le to leave because he didn''t want to see her, and he didn''t want to hear Le talking
about Sheryl like that anymore.
Le had said all that she needed to say. And she was d that Charles seemed to believe her.
"Okay, you take care of yourself too." Le said, sounding concerned. Then she left.
Nick was about to visit Charles. But when he saw Leing out from Charles'' ward, he stopped.
Nick was confused. Charles was supposed to be mad at Le. Why would she leave the room with a
smile?
After giving it a thought, Nick decided to turn around and postpone his visit. After all, he wasn''t exactly
sure what happened between Charles and Le. He was afraid he wouldn''t be able to control himself in
front of Charles.
Sheryl had also told him not to talk to Charles for the meantime about Le. After all, Charles had just
woken up, and he didn''t need to be stressing about anything. All he needed now was rest. So even
though Nick didn''t want to, he knew he had to listen to Sheryl.
Nick went back to Cassie''s room, frustrated.
Cassie could tell something was wrong, so she asked, "What''s wrong?" Cassie looked at Nick,
worriedly.
Cassie had recovered and she was doing pretty good, so she was at work again.
"Nothing, I should go back to the office. I''ll pick you up tonight!" Nick said and forced a smile before he
left the hospital.
Cassie could tell that Nick was lying to her. However, that could only mean that Nick didn''t want to tell
her yet, and she shouldn''t force him until he was ready. She decided to let it go and mind her own
business.
After Le left, Charles was lost in thought, alone in his room.
He knew that he shouldn''t be suspicious of Sheryl. But Le was right about one thing. She didn''t need
to lie to him. The more Charles thought about it, the more confused and annoyed he became.
In the Cloud Advertising Company
Sheryl just finished her work. She checked her watch and realized it was almost twelve o''clock. She
grabbed her car keys, ready to go to the hospital to visit Charles.
Just as she was about to leave the office, I pushed her door open and asked her, "You didn''t tell
Charles what Le did to Cassie, did you?"
"No, I didn''t know how to bring it up to him." Sheryl said, sounding frustrated. She put down the folders
she was holding.
I sounded a little angry upon hearing this. She mmed her fists on the table and said, "So what are
you going to do? Just let it go?"
"Of course not. But it isn''t the right time yet. Charles hasn''tpletely recovered. Telling him this will
only stress him out. Why would I do that to him?"
Sheryl said and rubbed I''s shoulders, an attempt to calm her down.
"But then Charles wouldn''t know what kind of person Le is." I couldn''t help but grind her teeth in
anger every time she thought about Le.
"Charles isn''t the police. Even if I tell him, he can''t change anything. What has been done can''t be
undone. Besides, we don''t have any evidence against Le, do we?" Sheryl shrugged at I.
Sheryl was right. Even though Charles found out about Le, the most he could do was kick Le out of
the Lu family and well, that wouldn''t really help anything.
"Fine, you have a point." I rolled her eyes at Sheryl.
Sheryl knew that I was worried about her, so she walked to her and hugged her. Sheryl smiled at
I and said, "Don''t worry. I will take care of myself. I won''t let anything happen, okay?"
"Okay. Well, I should go find Aron now. If you need any help, just call me!" Since Charles had woken
up, I had only been there once as Le was always there and I didn''t want to see Le''s face.
Every time I saw Le, she wanted to punch her in the face and she knew she couldn''t control

herself. She decided it would just be best to refrain from going to the hospitalpletely.
"I know. Bye!"
Sheryl shook her head and sighed as I left.
When Sheryl was about to leave again, Phoebe walked in.
"President Xia, someone sent you this." Phoebe furrowed her brows and looked at Sheryl with concern.
Seeing Phoebe''s face, Sheryl was confused. ''Why does look Phoebe so worried?'' Sheryl wondered.
"What is it?" Sheryl asked Phoebe.
When she took the pictures from Phoebe and looked at them, Sheryl gasped.
''Who took these pictures? Someone is stalking me!'' Sheryl was surprised upon seeing herself in the
pictures.
