Chapter 1650 Cora’s Quarrel With Jordan
"You''d better go home straight away. There is no need toe and pick me up. I am extremely busy
since there are many patients here. It would be better if I have dinner at the staff canteen," Cassie
replied. As the ambnce approached, she had the urge to hang up the phone. There was way too
much work for her to do, and she couldn''t waste another second.
"Nick! Another patient is waiting for me. Sorry, but I have to go now!"
"Okay, make sure you take good care of yourself--" Before Nick could finish speaking, he heard a beep.
''Oh, she has hung up, '' he thought.
Suddenly a disappointed smile made its way to Nick''s face. He shook his head, feeling disheartened.
Cassie gazed at the vehicle as the door opened. The patient was a young and beautiful woman.
"Doctor, please, help her. My girlfriend suddenly fainted. I have no idea what went wrong. I am deeply
concerned about her,"
a man anxiously stated, standing next to the female patient. Cassie immediately felt a familiarity after
hearing that voice. In astonishment, she stole a quick nce at him.
As expected, the man was none other than Jordan, Cora''s older brother!
Since Cassie got back together with Nick, Cora hadn''t mentioned anything about her elder brother. And
Cassie had made no attempts to ask Cora about Jordon either. But this meeting waspletely
unexpected. She had never thought they would meet again in a hospital.
Jordon was taken aback as soon as his eyes fell on Cassie. But quickly, heposed himself. He
came back to his senses, and his gaze shifted back to the doctor. With a nod, he hurriedly followed the
doctor into the hospital as his girlfriend was carried inside.
When Jordan''s girlfriend was taken into the operating room, Cassie was selected to help with the
operation. Jordan was immediately perturbed. Before Cassie entered the room, he stopped Cassie at
the doorway, and he grabbed Cassie by her arm, and warned spitefully, "Cassie, there may be old
scores unsettled between you and me, but don''t you dare vent your anger on her! If you do, I will make
your life miserable!"
Clearly, he was threatening Cassie. But his menacing face and words repulsed her.
With a frown, Cassie shook herself free from his grip and asked nonchntly, "Are you threatening
me? You have the audacity to threaten a medical staff member?"
"Yes, you got it right! I am threatening you!"
Jordan didn''t try to conceal his intention; instead, he grinned and openly admitted it.
"Well, fine! I suggest you transfer your girlfriend to another hospital. Since you don''t trust me and this
hospital, I don''t think I want to take this responsibility. If anything unexpected happens to her during the
operation, I am pretty sure you will me me! However, here is what I think-- you knew the hospital I
work for, yet you let the ambnce bring your girlfriend here. Did you do that on purpose?" Cassie was
boiling with rage. In the past, Jordan had done terrible things to her. Just the mere thought of it sent
shivers down her spine. Yet she had been dumb enough to put up with him. But now, she wasn''t the old
Cassie. She couldn''t watch silently as he tried to discredit her professional morals. Everything about
him was impossible to endure!
"Cassie! You…"
Jordan roared angrily. He sharply pointed his finger at Cassie and opened his mouth to say something.
After consideration, he decided to keep silent, though. Cassie looked at him with unflinching eyes, and
said, "Your girlfriend needs immediate treatment! If you want to dy it, then I won''t stop you!" Cassie
rolled her eyes. Without a word, she turned and headed to the operating room.
Despite his anger, Jordan resigned himself to what Cassie had said.
The whole process onlysted for about an hour.
The doctor and nurses came out with happy faces.
"Doctor, how is my girlfriend doing? Is she okay?" Jordan wasn''t at ease at all. Once the doctor came
out, Jordan quickly walked over and grabbed the doctor''s hand, asking for the result.
"Be at ease! The operation went well! The patient has suffered a serious anaphctic reaction, but she
is fine now. She should stay away from pollen! She is under narcosis. After an hour, she will wake up.
You can see her then." The doctor left with the nurses as soon as he updated Jordan.

Cassie and several other nurses were informed to transfer the patient into a ward.
Noticing that Cassie was in charge of his girlfriend, Jordan was a bit rmed. He immediately pushed
Cassie away and grabbed his girlfriend''s hand.
While doing so, he shoved Cassie aside and went with the other nurses to find the ward. Seeing this
sudden reaction, Cassie stood stunned, helplessly shaking her head.
Then she went to the office of the head nurse to report. Cora had alsopleted her work. In the
passage, they met each other. After exchanging greetings, Cassie unintentionally stretched her neck,
which raised Cora''s concern. With a frown, Cora asked, "Are you feeling… okay, today? How is your
neck now?"
Since Cassie had been in aa for such a long time, Cora worried that it might have left atent
disease in her body. However, Cassie seemed to not care about that.
"I am fine! I just assisted in a surgery. My neck feels a bit stiff. But there''s nothing to worry about!"
Cassie replied. Then her mind once again went back to Jordan. After hesitating for a while, she asked,
"Did your brother get a girlfriend?"
"What…Yes! How did you know that?" Cora furrowed her eyebrows, as she stared at Cassie.
She was confused by Cassie''s question. From what she knew, Cassie had refused her brother''s love.
So the fact that she was interested in Jordan''s personal affairs left her a bit stunned. ''How did she
know that? Does she love Jordan?'' Cora worried.
"I just met him and his girlfriend…" Cassie told Cora what had happened in detail.
"What? My brother said that to you? He actually threatened you?" Cora couldn''t believe what Cassie
had told her. In half-disbelief, Cora waited for her confirmation. She thought this was some kind of joke.
Observing Cora''s amazed look, Cassie didn''t want to push for her to believe the recount. In response,
Cassie merely nodded her head.
"Jordan is way too out of line! Don''t worry, I am going to him right now! He has to apologize for his
behavior!" Cora roared with anger. Then she stormed towards her future sister-inw''s ward to find her
brother.
Cassie''s intention was to inform her, but Cora seemed to take her words very seriously. Cora insisted
her brother should apologize. And this strong reaction raised Cassie''s worry. She began to chase after
Cora, trying to stop her.
"Cora, don''t! Please, wait and listen to--" Her words fell on deaf ears. But Cassie somehow managed to
catch up with Cora.
She caught hold of Cora''s hand to stop her. But Cora instantly shushed her, and said, "Cassie, you
don''t have to be worried. Jordan may be my elder brother, but you are also my best friend! I am pissed
at him! There is no way he is getting away without apologizing to you!" Cora finally managed to exin

True, Cassie knew Cora intended to stand up for her, but if this led to a quarrel between a brother and
sister, she would feel responsible.
"But Cora, I am doing fine. It is no big deal! I don''t want you to argue with your brother over this petty
issue. Besides, we have to make our rounds soon, remember?" Cassie tried her best to calm Cora.
After racking her brain, she finally managed to bring up a legitimate reason!
Then they went on their ward round together. However, while Cassie buried herself into caring for the
patients, Cora quietly slipped away and headed out.
Jordan''s girlfriend woke up after being unconscious for an hour. Finding that she was lying in a
hospital, she immediately burst into tears. Clearly, she did not seem emotionally mature. Her reactions
showed her caprice like a little girl.
"Honey, that''s okay. You will be fine. You''ve been given medication so don''t move your body. There is a
chance for you to rpse!" Jordan cautiously reminded her, as he gently helped her sit up. Slowly, he
pulled her into his arms.
Almost running out of energy, he tried to brighten up his girlfriend''s mood.
In a daze, she fell asleep again in his arms. Right when Jordan was ready to take a deep breath, Cora
swung the door open.
Cora''s movement caused a noisy mor. At once, Jordan threw her a death re. He gestured for her
to be quiet. Then he put the woman in his arms back to bed. Cora stood at the door, watching Jordan in
silence. After tucking his girlfriend in, Jordan immediately walked over to Cora and pulled her outside.
"Why did youe here? You don''t look very happy. Did that madwoman tell you something? Don''t
listen to her!" Jordan stared at his sister, his eyes full of suspicion.
Cora didn''t like the way Jordan spoke of Cassie. In her eyes, it had all been his fault from the very
beginning. All of it happened due to his own unrequited affection. Cassie was straight forward and
never gave him any hope. However, he didn''t ept his failure and held Cassie ountable for
everything.
"Jordan, is this the so-called girlfriend of yours?" Cora questioned looking irritated.
"What''s with your attitude? Cut the chase and tell me why you are here!" Jordan blurted out angrily. He
was rather displeased with his sister''s demeanor.
"Jordan, Cassie isn''t like you. Just because you are a petty person doesn''t mean that everyone else is!
Now that Cassie and Nick are living a happy life, can''t you give your old grudges a rest? And look, you
have also found a new love. Can''t you let the past stay in the past? Don''t disturb her anymore!" Cora
raised her voice as she tried to reason with Jordan.
"How dare you yell at me?! Don''t forget that I am your elder brother. Why are you taking her side?"
Jordan got irritated. He couldn''t watch his sister take a stand for Cassie, a stranger.
