Chapter 1647 Who Should Feel Embarrassed
The Shining Company headquarters wasn''t far from the hospital, so Le got to the hospital in half an
hour.
When she arrived, Le stood still for a moment to catch her breath.
Le was frustrated when she saw Charles still lying in bed.

Melissa grabbed Le''s hand and walked her to the bed. Melissa pointed her fingers at Charles'' hand
and said, "Charles'' hand just moved. The doctor told me that Charles would wake up soon."
Hearing what Melissa said, Le was disappointed. ''What''s the point of asking me toe to the
hospital if Charles didn''t wake up yet?'' Le silentlyined about Melissa in her mind.
Le dared not to show her disappointment outwardly. Melissa was the only one that Le could count
on. Le wouldn''t confront Melissa over something so small, because it was better to have a friend
than an enemy.
"Le, here is what I am thinking. I think you''d better stay at the hospital instead of going to the
Le''s expression turned sour and she stared at Melissa in confusion.
Seeing Le''s confusion, Melissa exined it to her, saying, "When you and I are not here in the ward,
Sheryl always sneaks in toe and see Charles. I could ignore her and let her do whatever she
wants, but Charles is going to wake up at any time now. What do you think Sheryl will do if she finds
out about that?"
Melissa''s words struck Le. She had almost forgotten about Sheryl.
"You''re right, Aunt Melissa. I understand your concern, so I will stay in the hospital with Charles!" Le
grabbed Melissa''s hands as she promised that she would take care of Charles.
"Le, I always trust you. I know that you will take care of Charles. I feel really relieved that you are
around to help me still," Melissa said gratefully as she patted the back of Le''s hand. She felt blessed
to have a friend like Le around.
"Uh-huh, thank you for always trusting me and taking care of me, Aunt Melissa." Le smiled at
Melissa.
Le knew that when she decided toe to the hospital, she wouldn''t be able to go back to the
said to Melissa, "Aunt Melissa, I can take care of Charles. Why don''t you head back home and get
some rest?"
Melissa checked her watch when she heard Le say that.
"Well, I am not so tired, but I have an appointment with Mrs. Liu. She and I are going to go shopping
time in thepany of friends. The hospital was too quiet for her to stay in too long, so when Mrs. Liu
had asked Melissa to go shopping this morning, she had said yes without any hesitation.
Melissa was thinking about asking the special care nurse toe in earlier to take care of Charles, but
now that Le was there, Melissa felt relieved and couldn''t wait to leave.
Melissa loved ying mahjong more than anything. If Charles wasn''t staying in the hospital, she
wouldn''t have had to give up that hobby.
"Uh-huh, have a great time, Aunt Melissa." Le assured Melissa that she could handle things and told
her not to worry.
Melissa trusted Le''s capabilities, so she grabbed her purse and left.
Just after Melissa left, her worries were realized.
Sheryl arrived at the hospital.
Cassie was on the night shift that night. After she changed into her uniform and walked out of the
dressing room, she saw Sheryl.
"Sher, are you visiting Mr. Lu?" Cassie asked as she smiled at Sheryl.
"Uh-huh, are you on night shift again?" Sheryl asked Cassie when she saw that Cassie was wearing
her uniform.
Cassie nodded at Sheryl. She spread her hands speechlessly and answered, saying, "There are a lot
of patientstely, so the hospital is shorthanded. I guess tonight is just another busy and tiring night."
Sheryl felt sorry for Cassie. She patted her shoulder andforted her, saying, "I''m sure that you can
handle it. Besides, the patients need your help. You can ask Nick to cook for you when you get off
work."
"I''m sure he will." Cassie smiled.
Looking at the sweet smile on Cassie''s face, Sheryl wished that she and Charles could be like Cassie
and Nick. No matter what happened, they could always talk it out and settle their problems in time.
"I should let you get back to work, Cassie. See youter!" Sheryl said goodbye to Cassie as she didn''t
want to hamper Cassie''s work. Besides, Sheryl wanted to see Charles as soon as she could.
When Sheryl walked into the room, she didn''t expect to see Le there.
''Doesn''t she go to the Shining Company building at this time of day? Why would she be here?
Shouldn''t she be working at thepany building now?'' Sheryl thought to herself in confusion.
Before Sheryl could ask any questions, Le broke the silence. She opened her mouth and demanded,
"What are you doing here?"
"That''s the same question I wanted to ask you. I''m here to visit my husband. What are you doing in
here?" Sheryl was never nice to Le. She wouldn''t be nice to her now, especially under such
circumstances.
Le was very annoyed at Sheryl''s attitude. What made Sheryl think that she could look down on her?
When Charles woke up, Sheryl should be the one to be kicked out of the family.
"I wonder where this attitude ising from, Sheryl. You are the so-called wife of the Shining
Company''s CEO, but we all know who Charles loves. He loves me, not you. Aren''t you clear about
that?" Every time Le saw Sheryl, she would say something to get on Sheryl''s nerves.
Sheryl had gotten used to that over time.
She couldn''t be riled up over something so small. Sheryl shook her head. "Is that how youfort
yourself? Even if I''m just nominal, people still recognize our marriage. What about you? Who are you
exactly? Do you dare to tell people that you are Charles'' mistress?"
Le fell silent. Of course, she dared not to tell people about her rtionship with Charles. Le
couldn''t help but feel annoyed and angry whenever she saw the confidence and determination on
Sheryl''s face.
"I am not selfforting by saying that. When Charles and I shared a bed and our bodies that day, he
wasn''t thinking about you. Hepletely forgot about you!" Le rolled her eyes as she brought up that
night.
She knew that it would break Sheryl''s heart and that she could defeat Sheryl by telling her the details; if
Sheryl was still in love with Charles.
Thinking about that, Le continued, "That night, Charles told me a lot of things. He said that he would
have divorced you long ago if it wasn''t for the children. Do you really think he prolonged the divorce
because he still loves you? You''re wrong then. Look at yourself in the mirror, Sheryl. As for Charles,
you''re just the mother of his children, not his real lover."
Every word Le said tore Sheryl''s heart into pieces.
Although she was convinced that Charles wouldn''t say such things about her, it still hurt to hear Le
make up such stories.
Sheryl clenched her fists. Biting her lip, Sheryl red at Le and said, "I''m not here to argue with you."
"But I am!" Sheryl and Le''s eyes met. Clearly, Le had gained the upper hand.
"What? Are you feeling upset now?" Le pressed Sheryl.
Sheryl couldn''t understand Le''s behavior. Le was the one who had made a mistake. How could
she act like she was the victim and be so shameless?
"Le, don''t you find yourself to be disgusting? You make me sick!" Sheryl spat at Le.
"I don''t see how I have done anything wrong. You are the one who''s sick, okay? Charles promised that
he would marry me. When he wakes up, we will get married. It''s just a matter of time. By then, you''re
the one who will feel embarrassed and ashamed. So, why don''t you just stay away from our life from
now on so that you can save some face?" Leshed out.
Sheryl just smiled coldly. She responded indifferently, saying, "I wonder who will really be the
embarrassed one when Charles wakes up."
