Chapter 1644 Clark Is Being Cold

Chapter 1644 rk Is Being Cold

Shortly after they arrived, the kids had fallen asleep. Sheryl went to check on them as usual before

    going back to the bedroom.

It had been a while since I hadst stayed over at Sheryl''s, so she was excited and couldn''t fall

    asleep.

"By the way, did you notice Phoebe and Aron''s cousin today? Is there something going on?" Sheryl had

stayed at the hospital the entire afternoon, so she didn''t know what happened to Phoebe. Now that she

remembered it, she couldn''t help asking I.

Hearing what Sheryl said, I was thrilled. Holding her hand, she gestured for Sheryl to sit down so

she could tell her in detail, without hurrying.

"Why are you so excited?" Seeing the expression on I''s face, Sheryl thought there was something

unusual. Sitting in front of I, Sheryl fixed her eyes on her.

I coughed and started exining seriously, "You will never expect it, but the fact is, Aron''s cousin

had fallen in love with Phoebe a long time ago already."

"What?" With her eyes widely open, Sheryl looked at I in doubt.

Didn''t I say that Josef only came back from abroad recently? How could he have fancied Phoebe

    before then?

Confused, Sheryl continued to look at I, waiting for her to tell the whole story.

"Do you remember that you sent Phoebe on a business tour abroadst year?" I asked, pretending

    to be mysterious.

Nodding her head, Sheryl answered, "Yes, I do. Did they meet each other during that time?"

"Hmm, right. Josef saw Phoebe once by ident and fell in love at first sight. Then I happened to

introduce them to each other. Of course, he would be happy." I snapped her fingers joyfully as she

    exined.

Sheryl certainly felt happy for Phoebe, until a sudden thought crossed her mind. "Does Phoebe

    remember Josef?"

In her opinion, Phoebe''s forgetfulness would probably mean that she had forgotten about Josef, so she

wouldn''t have any feelings for him.

"She naturally forgets everything, but I think Josef badly wants to pursue her. So then there''s no

problem." I had faith in Josef''s capability.

She was sure that Josef was in every way deserving of, so she hoped that Phoebe would give him a

    chance.

Although Sheryl hadn''t seen this man yet, she had faith in I. She wouldn''t have chosen wrong to set

    them up.

"Don''t worry. I will tell Phoebe not to refuse him too easily." She believed that Phoebe''s feelings needed

to be developed slowly. If Josef would continue to treat her well, eventually, she would be moved. So

they wouldn''t need to worry about Phoebe not having any feelings for him.

"Hmm, it''s a deal. We should make sure they end up together." Holding out her hand, I gave Sheryl

a high five, as they reached an agreement.

After the conversation, they decided to call it a day and go to bed.

Looking at Sheryl, I knew that though she seemed okay like usual, Sheryl had suffered too much

    these days.

"Sheryl, have you ever considered giving up Charles?" The question came up out of the blue. It was

not that I didn''t hope that Sheryl and Charles would stay together, but she thought that Sheryl would

only have a hard life if she stayed with him.

Sheryl''s expression turned serious as she stared back at I.

It took her quite a long while before she could even reply. Shaking her head, she said, "I, you know

what? I understand that Charles and I have too many obstacles; not only Le, or Ferry, and Melissa,

but I''m also referring to the many external factors. But do you know that love is above everything?"

I naturally understood what Sheryl tried to say.

Sheryl and Charles had loved each other deeply from the start, so they wouldn''t give up without a fight.

"But now, as you can see, even if Charles truly wakes up, do you think that Ferry will let you go?" I''s

Sheryl think over her next move.

Hearing those words from I, Sheryl was speechless. The room was suddenly filled with sorrow.

Sheryl knew exactly what I meant.

For sure, Ferry wouldn''t let her go so easily. If she didn''t proceed with the divorce, Charles would suffer

    in the end for sure.

There was no question about it. Sheryl would rather get herself into trouble than let something bad

    happen to Charles.

But Charles'' ident had made her realize how ephemeral life was. She just wanted to be with

Charles and didn''t care about anything else. As long as they shared the same determination, she

    would never let go again.

"I, do you know how much I want to be with Charles?" Sheryl''s voice choked as she spoke.

Seeing that I just looked at her and remained silent, Sheryl continued, "It wasn''t easy for us to get to

where we are today. And just when I started to think that everything was finally okay, everyone around

me starts telling me that I am not the right one for Charles, but you know what? Without Charles, my

    life will be iplete..."

Trying hard to control herself, Sheryl held back her tears.

She''d said too much about what had happened to her and Charles. She could feel the pain in her heart

increasing, making it harder for her to breathe.

I finally knew how much pain Sheryl had. ''How did she persist till now?'' I thought distractedly.

Looking at Sheryl''s pain, I was heartbroken. She could tell that Sheryl was desperately trying to hold

    back the tears.

Reaching out to her friend, I held Sheryl in her arms and assured her by saying, "I will be behind

you, no matter what you decide to do."

    "Thanks, I!"

After talking about this depressing topic, they remained silent.

But neither fell asleep. Both were so busy with their own separate thoughts that they didn''t even realize

when sleep finally crept up on them.

After thinking all night, Sheryl decided that nobody could stop her from staying with Charles. As long as

he would wake up, she would stand next to him.

    The next day

Sheryl and I woke up at almost the same time.

"Mommy," Shirley called out. "Auntie I, did you sleep herest night?" Opening the door of Sheryl''s

bedroom early in the morning, Shirley was surprised to see I.

"Sweetie, did you miss Auntie?" Rubbing her sleepy eyes and then stretching out her hands, I

    invited Shirley into her arms.

Being an obedient little girl, Shirley rushed into I''s arms.

"Hmm, Auntie I, I haven''t seen you for a long time. Are you too busy working these days?" Shirley

asked I doubtfully in a childish voice.

Pouting, I nodded pitifully. "Yes. Your mommy iszy these days, so I have to do much work in the

"No, my mommy isn''tzy!" Hearing that I had spoken ill of her mommy, Shirley felt unhappy, and

her lips curled in a threatening way.

Amused by Shirley''s expression, Sheryl and I exchanged nces and smiled at each other.

At that moment, rk suddenly came rushing in from outside.

"Mommy, Auntie I,e on! Have breakfast quickly. You will bete." rk walked over

    expressionlessly.

Hearing that, Shirley rushed out of I''s arms and went out to the dining hall.

Sheryl looked into I''s eyes and nodded, as if lost in thought.

    ''What is wrong with rk?

    Why is he so cold?''

    Sheryl felt confused and sad.
