Chapter 1567 Kidnapped
"ck, I also miss you very much. How about this? Give me a kiss and then you go home? Just a kiss,
Honey, okay? I''m really not in a good mood tonight. Please!" Holley pleaded piteously, seemingly pretty
perplexed.
Holley''s rejection came as a blow to ck. Her reply was absolutely contrary to what he thought of her.
Her refusal to obey him was thest thing ck had ever expected after so much of requesting and
begging. Anyways, much to his disappointment, Holley turned him down relentlessly.
ck nced at Holley. He could mark a change in Holley''s behavior but was still not sure about the
reason. Maybe, she was holding back something in her mind that he was not aware of.
Thinking about this, ck embraced Holley and kissed her on her forehead lovingly, saying, "Holley,
are you still bothered because of the assassin? Are you afraid that he''lle back again?"
Holley couldn''t help snorting secretly. ''Of course, you idiot!'' she thought with disgust. What other
reason would have made her turn to ck had it not been for Bernard''s threat? However, to her
distress, before she could solve the problem of Bernard, Ferry came back.
Her situation aptly justified the proverb "Misfortunes nevere alone." But she also knew that ck
would not be able to defuse her crisis with Ferry.
At the thought of it, Holley heaved a deep sigh and said, "ck, in fact, I''m worried about you. You and
your father have not been getting along too well ofte. I think, maybe you shouldn''t bother him with my
problems anymore. What do you think?"
"But I have promised to help you, and I have also mentioned it to him once. Don''t worry, my dear. Just
as I said, he agreed to protect you. I''m sure nobody will dare to hurt you now," ck said confidently.
"I know. But the assassin organization is far too dangerous. I don''t want to involve your father in it
because of my safety. I asked for your help before because I didn''t think through it carefully. But now I
realize that I did a bad thing!" Holley sighed, putting on a regretful look.
N?velDrama.Org owns this.
"Holley, don''t ever say that again; otherwise I''ll be mad at you! You know what? We are family! I must
help you and protect you!" ck said, sounding a little offended.
He thought that Holley was making excuses to push him away, which irritated him.
"All right. But today I''m really very exhausted. If you stay here, I won''t get a good night''s sleep. Will you
go back home tonight, please?" Holley pleaded again.
Left with no choice, ck agreed to leave.
"Alright then. Take care of yourself. I will leave now!" ck said.
"Don''t worry. I''ll take care of myself," Holley answered sweetly.
ck stood up unwillingly and took his leave.
After ck was gone, Holley heaved a sigh of relief.
However, as soon as she calmed down, one name kept haunting her and she couldn''t help but slump
on the sofa powerlessly like a deted ball.
Sheryl! She was the one. She was responsible for everything. She had sent Holley into this distressful
situation. Sheryl was her sworn enemy!
At Cloud Advertising Company
Feeling overwhelmingly grieved, Sheryl had no ce to go but her ownpany.
She had no idea what she should do now. When she asked for help, everybody turned their back at
her, including Charles. This was the first time that Sheryl had found herself in such a desperate
situation.
Sheryl had nearly lost her mind in despair.
All of a sudden, she was startled by the cell phone buzzing.
It was an unknown number. She looked at it for a while and then picked it up.
"Is that Sheryl?" a man asked from the other end of the line. Sheryl was surprised that the man knew
her. At the same time, she also felt a little uncanny about this unfamiliar voice. She couldn''t help feeling
suspicious about his identity.
"Who are you?" she asked in a cold tone.
"Listen to my orders if you want to save Nick!" the man said curtly, without answering her question.
"Who are you?" Sheryl questioned him vigntly in a louder voice.
"Go to No. 158, Xian Street in one hour. Alone. If you don''t, you will be responsible for Nick''s death!"
The line went dead after the mysterious voice gave its orders.
Sheryl was left aghast. She didn''t expect him to hang up so soon. The man must have been involved in
Nick''s case.
But who was he?
Somehow Sheryl felt that his voice sounded familiar to her, but she couldn''t figure out who he was.
Without any further hesitation, Sheryl decided to go there to save Nick.
Her immediate impulse was to inform I. However, she could neither find her in her office nor reach
her by phone.
The mysterious man had asked her toe alone. Sheryl was afraid that he might hurt her, so she left
a note for I exining the whole story. Then she grabbed a fruit knife for protection before she set
out.
"Ms. Xia, why are you taking the knife?" Phoebe asked in amazement. She noticed that Sheryl rushed
out of her office in a panic to look for I, and then she came out of the pantry with a knife in her hand.
''What happened?'' Phoebe couldn''t help wondering.
"Um...Nothing. It''s for protection. If Ies back, tell her to go to my office," Sheryl said. Sheryl had
left the note on her table. If I came to her office, she would surely see it.
"Okay, Ms. Xia," Phoebe answered. But Sheryl was in such a rush that she didn''t even wait to hear her
reply. She took long strides to reach the spot as soon as she could.
Phoebe found Sheryl''s behavior a little strange but she didn''t pay much heed to it. Maybe Sheryl just
had something urgent to deal with.
Half an hourter, Sheryl arrived at No. 158, Xian Street on time. She looked around and found that it
was a small alley behind a bar. It looked old and shady with very few people. Not too many people
woulde here at such an hour.
Sheryl sensed a strange uneasiness as she entered the street. Gradually, her heart started beating fast
as she felt both afraid and worried. She looked around and decided to wait.
For a long time, nobody approached her. The few pedestrians who were there on the street nced at
her once in a while as they spected about her standing there at such odd hour. But then all of them
went about minding their own business.
When Sheryl became impatient and was about to give up, a man suddenly appeared wearing a mask.
He said, "Follow me."
But Sheryl wasn''t moving. "Wait! Who are you? Why should Ie with you?" Sheryl blurted out. She
sized the man up from head to toe and was further convinced that she really didn''t know him.
Even though he wore a mask, Sheryl could still tell from his physique, hair, and eyes that he was a
stranger to her. But Sheryl thought that he was merely a pawn. The actual mastermind wouldn''t show
up so readily.
The man looked up at her but immediately turned away as if he was afraid that Sheryl could recognize
him.
"Do you want to save Nick or not?" he threatened Sheryl once again.
Sheryl nodded her consent.
"Good! Give me your cell phone and bag!" the manmanded as soon as they boarded a car.
"Why?" Sheryl asked defiantly. Even though Sheryl was in a passive situation, she didn''t want to let him
think that he could do anything to her easily.
"Do you think I''m stupid enough to give you the chance to call the police? We''ll give all your belongings
back to you when we set you free!" he said sounding impatient with Sheryl''s questions.
"Humph! You are a group of people, while I''m just a woman all alone out here. Are you all such
cowards that you''re afraid of a woman?" Sheryl sneered on purpose to provoke the man. She knew
that the more he talked, the more information she could get from him.
"Shut your mouth! If you really want to save Nick, just give me those!" the man thundered at her angrily.
Sheryl''s taunt humiliated him.
Sheryl fell into silence since she was threatened again. She didn''t dare to provoke him anymore and
handed over her cell phone and bag to him obediently. Then her eyes were covered by a piece of cloth.
''Do you really have to be so mysterious?'' sheined in her mind.
