    "It''s fine, Cassie. You already look beautiful enough. Wade just saw Nick waiting outside. If you don''t


    get on your way now, you''ll bete!" Cassie''s colleague urged her to move quickly while Cassie was


    still engrossed in appreciating herself in front of the mirror.


    "Nick is already here?" Cassie eximed as she did not expect Nick to be so early. She thought that


    she would have to wait for Nick for a while. And in that time she could groom herself to look her best.


    As soon as she learned of Nick''s arrival, she took a quickst nce at the mirror, shared a smile with


    herself and rushed out.


    Cassie took brisk and nimble steps as she walked through the hospital corridor, passed the garden


    area and arrived outside the hospital gate. As soon as she reached the gates, the first thing that met


    her eyes was Nick''s car parked beside the road.


    She could not refrain herself from running towards the car. By the time she reached the car, she was


    short of breath.


    Nick smiled as he saw her running to him, and said, "Hey, there is no rush. Why are you running so


    fast?"


    Cassie just smiled and got into the car. As she made herselffortable in the seat, Nick reached out


    to help her fasten her seat belt. And as he did so, suddenly they came very close to each other and the


    atmosphere changed. Their eyes met and they came closer and closer. Cassie felt a little shy and said,


    "Let me do it on my own."


    "It''s all right. It''s already done. Now, tell me, why were you running so fast? What''s the rush?" Nick


    asked in a concerned voice as he tried to change the topic.


    Although it was not the first time when they were so intimate, the feeling of affection was so intense

    herself down and suggested some Japanese food to Nick.


    Finally, they went to a Japanese restaurant. Sheryl was a regr visitor at this restaurant and


    rmended it to Nick. Nick trusted Sheryl''s taste, so he decided to take Cassie to this restaurant.


    The restaurant had a beautiful Japanese decor. It was said that the owner of this restaurant was


    originally from Japan. And since he got married to a Chinese woman, he moved to China with his wife


    and opened this Japanese restaurant.


    Nick had already confirmed the booking while they were on the way, so when they arrived, they went to


    the room they had pre-booked. As they waited for the food to arrive, Nick spoke with Cassie about her


    life.


    The restaurant had a special rule. The customers couldn''t order the food of their choice.

    to dine here at all."


    Cassie grew more inquisitive as she listened to Nick.


    After a wait of about ten minutes, the food was served by none other than the wife of the owner.


    She addressed Nick and Cassie respectfully and said, "This is your appetizer. Hope you enjoy it."

    Nick noticed how Cassie became silent as she ate the appetizer "How is it?" he asked, looking at


    Cassie''s face carefully. Nick hoped that he chose the right ce for the meal and Cassie liked it.


    "It''s great! It''s really good! It is not like any salmon that I''ve ever had before!" Cassie replied as she


    swallowed the bite. She smiled as she hinted Nick to take a bite too.


    When they were enjoying the food, they had a very great time eating and talking. In between the meal,


    Nick excused himself to go to the bathroom. And as he walked through the door, he suddenly


    happened to meet a person he would never have wanted to meet.


    Even Jordan didn''t expect to see him at that ce.


    The initial shock ofing face to face was soon reced by the exchange of stern looks between


    them. As they red at each other, the air between them turned frozen. They stared at each other for a


    long time. Neither of them moved, but their faces revealed that they were already at war inside their


    minds.


    Both of them seemed to wage a sword fight with their eyes. At the backdrop, the sound of a toilet


    flushing made a faint attempt to interrupt the stern stare and silent war between the two of them. But it


    failed to create even a single ripple between the two. It was as if they had turned into statues with only


    their chests rising and falling due to the seething rage inside their hearts. At that moment, another man


    came out of the bathroom.


    He walked out and got startled to see the two well-built men stationed still in the middle of the men''s


    restroom. He bypassed them and washed his hands. When he turned back and looked at the two men


    again, only to find that they were still there looking at each other. He went out, confused, and mumbled


    in a low voice, "Two lunatics?"


    ''What are these two people doing in the bathroom? They even left the water running, but neither of

    After that man walked away, Nick was the first to stop his silent war and ignored Jordan. He washed his


    hands and walked out of the bathroom.

    After Nick came back to his room, Cassie marked a strange stiffness on his face which made her feel


    that something must have caused some sort of distress to him. "What''s happened? What''s wrong with


    you?" asked Cassie.


    "Nothing. Why?" Nick replied by shaking his head. He managed to bring a smile to his face to show


    Cassie that he was fine.


    "Alright, then. Let''s continue our dinner. Look, that sushi is pretty nice. Have a taste," Cassie said,


    letting go of her confusion.


    They started a warm and happy conversation again about their life and other things. They discussed


    anything and everything that came to mind while they shared a lot of jokes andughter with each


    other.


    Nick did not tell Cassie about his meeting with Jordan intentionally. In their hearty conversation, they


    just forgot all of that.


    But the Jordan chapter was not over so easily. As they walked out of the restaurant after dinner, they


    confronted Jordan all over again.


    Meeting him like this after such a wonderful time spent with Nick was thest thing Cassie expected.


    Suddenly all the pleasant feelings left her heart and she could not stop feeling disgusted. She med

    But one thing both Nick and Cassie were unaware of—Jordan was waiting for then on purpose.


    "Look. It''s Cassie. What a coincidence!" a woman said as she spotted Cassieing out of the


    restaurant gates. Upon hearing her name, Cassie turned around to find a beautiful and sexy woman


    standing beside Jordan.


    She eyed Cassie from head to toe and cast a vicious re at her. However, Cassie cast a nonchnt


    look at her.

    "Who is she?" the woman asked. She knew that Jordan said those words intentionally, so she decided


    to be a part of this game.


    Jordan sneered and said, "Thisdy, Cassie, is the secondhand woman that I threw away. But to my


    surprise, someone picked up this secondhand thing so quickly. Maybe everyone just has different


    tastes. Although I don''t understand it, I have to respect it."


    Jordan kept on saying offensive things about Cassie like there was no one else around him. He kept on


    talking for a long time, but he didn''t notice that the expression of the woman on his arm changed

    tear him down. However, Cassie held his hand and gave him a slight pull, indicating he should refrain
