Chapter 1505 Where Is Charles
Sheryl looked back immediately, her eyes flickering with hope and surprise. She saw Charles standing
right before her eyes. His face brought her much constion.
"What did you say? Jarvis is dead?" Lancy shouted in doubt. Gazing at Charles, she totally forgot she
was about to jump off the building. Now all her attention focused on what Charles had imed.
Staying sober, Charles gave her a faint smile and repeated, "If you jump off now, I assure you that his
death will be more miserable."
"You are lying!" Lancy yelled with a furious look. "No, you must be lying! My Jarvis is in a safe ce.
He''s being taken care of. As long as I keep my promise and kill Sheryl, they will help me find the best
doctor to cure him."
"Unfortunately, they tricked you," Charles sighed with pity.
"No, that is impossible. I had a deal with them. I''m sure they would keep their promise, as long as I
keep mine. Huh, I see, you are trying to deceive me. I can see through your tricks. Don''t even think that
I will fall into your cheap plot so easily!"
Lancy sounded like shepletely lost it. Realizing her insanity, Charles took it as an opportunity and
came up with a n. ''This is a rare chance to distract Lancy and work with the police. If I want to make
it, I need the policemen to rescue Sheryl on cue.'' He quickly winked at the policemen around him,
gesturing for them to back him up.
After exchanging a knowing look, Charles looked back at Lancy''s direction. Shaking his head, he said,
"But pitifully, he is dead now. You can''t expect him toe back to life."
"Shut up! Just shut up!" Lancy burst with rage. She fiercely threw off Sheryl''s hand. With a straight
re, she pointed at Charles and warned, "I won''t allow you to talk about him like that! Jarvis is not
dead. He will be cured and after that, we will live a happy life. He promised me that we will travel
around the world. And he never breaks his promises!"
While Lancy was talking to Charles, the policemen cautiously approached them. One quietly got close
to Sheryl and grabbed her away from Lancy; at the same time, another man swiftly threw himself to
catch Lancy''s legs, trying to drag her out of the danger area.
"Ah! Stop!" Lancy cried out as she frantically pulled herself back. Her fierce reaction caused the
policeman to lost his bnce. The man failed to recover from Lancy''s resistance and started to fall to
her side.
Everything happened so suddenly. Even before the other policemen could take further measures,
Lancy gained her freedom back, but then she lost her footing and fell off the edge. Like a broken-
winged bird, she quickly descended from where she stood.
"My God! No!" Sheryl eximed. As soon as shended her feet on the ground, she looked back and
found the horrible scene below. In shock and astonishment, she lifted her hand to cover her mouth.

Standing aside, Phoebe was also taken aback. She quickly looked away, tightly shutting her eyes.
Charles didn''t hesitate. He hurriedly rushed over to Sheryl and wrapped his arms around her. Until he
held her warm body, his heart could not rest.
Undoubtedly, it had been in a chaos down there. Charles refused to leave the hospital through its gate.
To avoid any unnecessary trouble, he decided to join Sheryl in the elevator all the way to the
underground garage.
Charles didn''t have much guilt in his mind. Anyway, no one forced Lancy to jump off. Whatever she had
done, it was all her choice, irrelevant to any one at the scene.
While in the car, Charles received a call from the police station. The police asked them to drop by and
give their testimonies.
Charles turned to look at Sheryl. Appearing so pale and tired, she closed her eyes and remained silent.
But Charles could read a trace of panic through her trembling lips.
Clearly, now it was not a good time for them to do this.
Being aware of that, Charles decided to call an old friend and ask for help.
"Hello, Mr. Guo, this is Charles. I hope I didn''t disturb you. I have some trouble that might need your
help," he started. He waited as the man on the other end of the line spoke a little.
"Yes, it is the case that just happened moments ago," he confirmed. "My wife''s mental state is not good
right now. I want to take her home first and let her rest. Can we go to the police tomorrow instead to
provide our testimonies?"
The man on the other end of the line fell silent for a while, but he permitted Charles'' request in the end.
"Thank you, Mr. Guo. Let''s find a moment to have a cup of tea sometime."
Hanging up the phone, Charles turned to check on Sheryl. Seeing she had fallen asleep, he heaved a
deep sigh of relief.
Upon arriving home, Charles wasted no time. He opened the car door, took Sheryl into his arms and
carried her straight into the house.
He came across Melissa as he took his flight up the stairs.
"What happened to her? I remembered she looked so vigorous yesterday. How can she just turn so
weak and fragile all of a sudden?" Melissa mocked. The sight of Charles holding Sheryl in his arms
made her feel rather disgusted.
Detecting Melissa''s words were full of ironies, Charles chose to ignore her. He was in a big hurry to put
Sheryl into bed and let her get a good rest.
"Mom, step aside. I need to take Sheryl to the bedroom as soon as possible. She needs some rest,"
Charles responded in an unchanging tone.
"She is always careless!" Melissa didn''t soften her tone, despite noticing Sheryl''s pale face.
''Is Sheryl sick?
Well, well, well! How interesting! Maybe God wants to punish her because she has no respect for
seniors. She even dare to be rude to me. How can God turn a blind eye on such an impolite woman?''
Letting her alone, Charles hugged Sheryl cautiously and rushed his way to the bedroom. At this sight,
Melissa lost her temper. She kicked the rails angrily yet hurt her foot.
Lying in a very broad bed, Sheryl seemed sinking into a long and hard dream. In silence, she furrowed
her eyebrow.
She was caught up in a nightmare. The tragedy that had just happened earlier that day reappeared in
her dream. This time, she wasn''t able to get away from Lancy. She held on Sheryl so tightly that Sheryl
could hardly resist Lancy''s grip. In the end, Lancy dragged Sheryl off the building with her.
"No!" Sheryl screamed all of a sudden, as she sat up from her bed. She felt her body covered with cold
sweat.
After waking up from her dream, Sheryl felt nervous. Looking around with fear and observing her
familiar surroundings, she realized at once that she was in her bedroom.
''Well, it was just a dream. I was nearly scared out of my wits!'' Scrubbing her forehead with her hand,
Sheryl felt relieved.
Then she felt the pajamas she was wearing were ratherfortable. Since she passed out, she had
been unconscious all the way home. She couldn''t even recall who had taken her to her bedroom and
changed her clothes into these pajamas.
Reviving her memories, she only remembered fainting because of panic. Back then, that horrible scene
became thest straw, as her mental state was overly stimted. While she was about to fall down,
she felt a strong and firm arm held onto her waist. It was like a shield that supported her feeble body,
stopping her from falling.
As Sheryl raised her eyes to see who it was, a deep and dark face, filled with affection, quickly
captured her full attention.
Sheryl felt surrounded by deep love. The familiar face soothed Sheryl''s panic. She became confident
and brave as he stood beside her. His presence was enough to tell her she had nothing to fear.
When she was stuck in her nightmare, she was helpless and dreaded because Charles was not
standing beside her. And the virtual situation felt so real that it scared the hell out of her.
''But, where is Charles?''
