Chapter 1476 Jordan''s Fox Tail
A bead of sweat rolled down the back of Jordan''s neck. Finally, he couldn''t contain himself anymore.
He grasped Cassie''s shoulders and said, "I really love you, Cassie. I fell in love with you at first sight. I
can''t live without you, Cassie! Please be my girlfriend. I promise to be good to you for the rest of my
life. Just move on and get over Nick. He doesn''t deserve you at all, and he''s seeing another woman…"
"You know Nick? Since when? Why do you know things about him? Tell me!" Cassie suddenly
interrupted.
At that moment, Jordan realized that he had confessed too much and hated the quick slip of his
tongue. He quickly racked his brain for any excuse he could say.
"Well, the day has eyes and the night has ears. Cassie, you might know him by face but not his mind. I
believe you''ve seen it with your own eyes. You need to move on! I''m here and I''ll always be here for
you. Please give us a chance. Think about it!" Jordan eximed. He looked so serious that it seemed
like he was standing on Cassie''s shoe, but all he wanted was to shift the topic back to their
rtionship.
"It''s none of your business! Please stay away from me!" Cassie said coldly. She tried to get rid of him,
but his grip was too tight and it was hurting her.
"Let go of me! You''re hurting me!"
Cassie yelled with furrowed brows.
"I don''t believe that you feel nothing! Please think harder and give me an answer now!" Jordan''s nerves
were too on edge that he couldn''t even control himself. He was too obsessed that he wouldn''t give up.
"Leave her alone!" someone shouted. Jordan wanted to say more but he was interrupted by a woman''s
shout from behind Cassie.
He looked at the woman in shock, who now stood right beside Cassie and red at him like a
ravenous tiger.
However, he was too upied with his own matters to speak to the unknown woman. He fixed his eyes
on Cassie instead, and felt like he wanted to take her away.
But before he could do anything, the woman suddenly lifted her hand and hit him straight across his
face. Jordan was so surprised that he staggered backwards, but Cassie got a chance to stay away
from him. She then looked gratefully at I, the woman who helped her.
"Son of a bitch! Who are you doing in broad daylight? Stay away from her!" I shouted mercilessly.
"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"
she asked Cassie and quickly checked up on her.
Cassie shook her head, but her face was pale and Jordan''s crazy actions scared her. "I''m fine, thank
you," she told I absentmindedly. Then, she turned to Jordan and warned, "You better leave now. If
you don''t, I can''t say what''ll happen. Just go!"
Right now, Cassie felt that she didn''t want to stay with him any longer. He was Cora''s elder brother and
she had to consider Cora''s feelings, but if things continued, it would definitely reach the hospital''s
security. Maybe both of them would have to exin things to the management. She didn''t want that
and besides, she wasn''t in the mood.
However, her reaction confused I. She thought that Cassie might have something with the man who
hurt her, so Cassie let him go without any exnation.
Meanwhile, Jordan didn''t want to leave like that but he had no other choice. The woman had strong
hands and they were in a public ce. It wouldn''t do him any good if he continued to push Cassie. He
just red angrily at the woman and left. But he almost made it. He nearly made Cassie agree to date
him.
I shivered in disgust at Jordan''s re. He looked so desperate that she couldn''t forget, but she
stared back just as fiercely.
She sneered at him coldly. After all, she was good at giving icy looks.
On the way to the exit, Jordan clenched his hands and mentallyined why his life was full of
troubles.
Finally, I looked away from Jordan''s receding back and focused on Cassie, as if she waited for her
to say something.
Cassie knew she needed to exin and I wouldn''t let her go easily. "Don''t look at me like that, I!
Is there something on my face?" she asked, in an attempt to divert I''s attention.
"Nope! I just thought how pretty you are! Hmm, that is the reason why men are always attracted by
you. I''m worried if Nick can stand it. I bet he will never sleep easily every night…" I teased.
"I didn''t. I, I never intended to!" Cassie snapped. She almost cried out as she spoke. She couldn''t
take it when a close friend thought that way.
She considered Sheryl and I as her closest friends, and regarded their opinions with great
importance. However, I misunderstood her now.
She bit her lip hard to prevent the tears from falling. She was truly heartbroken. She could take
Jordan''s insinuations, but not I''s.
When I saw Cassie''s face, she instantly regretted teasing her. The delicate but now fragile looking
girl who tried hard to stay calm tugged at her heartstrings, and she made her feel like she had to
protect her at all costs.
"Oh my, please forgive me Cassie! I didn''t mean it, I was just joking! I know what kind of person you are
and how you treat your rtionship! I''m sorry, please don''t cry!" I hurriedly apologized.
On the other hand, Cassie wiped off her tears and couldn''t help butugh at I''s exaggerated
expression.
"Don''t talk like that again! I, your opinions are important to me," Cassieined with a pout.
"I promise I won''t. You know me, Cassie. I always blurt out what''s on my mind without thinking.
If Sheryl knows, she''ll p the life out of me!" I said embarrassingly.
"I know, but I understand you did it for my own good,"
Cassie consoled her and sighed.
"But I promise, I''ll always be on your side. But what happened just now? Why did that man hold you
back? Do you know him?" I asked.
"It''s a long story." Cassie eventually told her everything, from Jordan being Cora''s older brother to what
happened to them next. However, she omitted the part when Jordan identally kissed her. That was
too embarrassing to talk about.
Now, I finally understood why Cassie was so hurt when she teased her. It was thest thing she
wanted to hear, especially from a close friend.
Cassie just treated Jordan as an acquaintance as he was Cora''s older brother, but Jordan kept clinging
on to her.
I felt really bad for her friend. She gently wrapped her arms around Cassie and said, "I''m sorry
again, Cassie. Please don''t be mad at me!"
"It''s a misunderstanding. Thank you, I, for everything. I feel better now for telling you," Cassie said
with a sweet smile.
"You''re so sweet. Nick''s so lucky to have you. If you two are having any troubles, please let me know.
I''ll give him a lesson,"
I said seriously and waved her fist.
However, Cassie was silent at the mention of Nick''s name. She lowered her head and stared at the
floor.
Her unease didn''t go unnoticed. "Cassie, tell me. Is there anything wrong between you and Nick?" I
asked. "You look unhappy now," she added.
"No, not as you think. I, you''re sick now and need to take more rest. Let''s go back to your ward. I

shouldn''t trouble you now. Please don''t worry. We''re fine," Cassie said in a reassuring tone.
She then put her hand on I''s arm and walked her back to her ward.
But in fact, I was as strong as a horse now. Otherwise she wouldn''t have scared Jordan away. She
didn''t push Cassie to talk anymore. It was their own business and she believed that Cassie could
handle it by herself. After all, it was something that she had to face alone for the rest of her life, and not
rely on the help of others.
Inside Dream Garden''s dining hall, the steel leg of the dining chair squeaked against the tiled floor as
Charles pulled it out. He ced his car keys on the table when his mother walked down the staircase.
She hummed a song and seemed like she hadpletely forgotten what happenedst night. Charles
raised a brow and cast her an icy, piercing re.
