Chapter 1457 Le Is Offended By Holley
Le''s body went rigid at the mention of Melissa. She was a little embarrassed to tell Holley the truth.
She had already made contact with Melissa. The result was not satisfactory at all. Superficially, Le
had asked Melissa to help her with her financial dilemma, but in reality, she had wanted to take
advantage of the meeting to have a progressive talk with Melissa, to repair the rtionship between
them. But Le was repelled by her. Besides, Melissa even demanded that they stop contacting each
other any further.
Telling Holley the truth about their meeting would mean admitting her failure. Her pride wouldn''t allow it.
"It''s just so-so. Why?" Le replied, after some hesitation.
"If you want to be back in Dream Garden, you have to regain Melissa''s trust. She is your only way in.
With her help, it will be easier for you to go back and stay with the Lu family."
Secretly, Le rolled her eyes and whined in her heart, ''Regain Melissa''s trust? It''s easier said than
done. Why don''t you help me repair my rtionship with the old hag?''
The debit card seemed to have been thest thing Melissa was willing to give her as a genuine gesture
of their friendship. Now that she had taken the money, they were even. Le knew that Melissa was
only willing to look out for herself. When Charles had demanded her to leave Dream Garden, Melissa
didn''t stand up for her. And because of that, she was now living this miserable life.
"How am I supposed to win back her trust? Do you have any bright idea? To be honest, Melissa and I
had a falling out. We are not in a good ce right now."
Holley was pissed. She inwardly cursed Le and considered her an utter fool. Le had stayed in the
Lu family''s house for quite a while, and should have had numerous opportunities to bring down Sheryl.
However, she wound up getting driven out of Dream Garden instead and even worse than that, she
hadpletely lost Melissa''s trust. Holley was tired just imagining what was going through Le''s
mind. She remembered how Melissa had adored and trusted Le back when she had first moved into
the Lu family. Holley was rather disappointed by Le''s poor tactics. In her opinion, Le''s misery was
no one''s fault but hers. She was the only one to be med for her downfall.
Silently, Holley closed her eyes without responding. Clueless, Le wondered whether Holley was just
ignoring her, or was just sunk into some deep contemtion.
The massage helped rx their tense nerves. When Holley opened her eyes again, her cheeks
radiated energy and vigor, and her eyes looked sharp and bright.
Feeling refreshed, she finally broke the silence between them and suggested, "Think about it. How long
have you stayed by her side? You must know her very well. Consider what Melissa cares about the
most. If you want to win her trust back, you will have to give her what she desires the most. That''s her
weakness, and you can take advantage of it."
Le contemted Holley''s words. With a nk expression, she ran her fingers over herp.
''What is it that Melissa desires?'' Le asked herself. Countless assumptions crossed her mind in a
sh, but she failed to pin-point the right answer.
Holley saw that Le was struggling with her memories, and decided to not add excess pressure on
her. She was confident that Le would figure it out sooner orter. Besides, to discredit Sheryl was not
an easy thing. All Holley had now was time. She thought it was better to take advantage of the time she
had and proceed slowly.
Le frowned and pressed her lips together into a thin line. She kept looking back to how much she got
along with Melissa. She was sure that Melissa cared about her, but she didn''t know how much. As she
continued to follow that thought, Le got stuck in the chaos of her mind.
To her knowledge, Melissa had always sought to get absolute authority over the Lu family, and she
fancied luxurious items.
Even with that information at hand, Le still found it hard to figure out what exactly she could use as a
leverage.
Holley patted Le on the shoulder, and said as gently as she could, "Rx. Take your time to think
about it. I am not in much of a hurry; I can wait. Just let me know when you have a clear picture in your
mind. We''ll then make a solid n together to lure Melissa into our trap."
Le took a deep breath. She shed a smile at Holley and nodded in agreement.
Holley changed the topic. "I know that you have been busy with your businesstely. But you should
still keep an eye on this. It''s equally important that you somehow get yourself back into the Lu family.
Do not forget that! You should pay more attention to this instead of fully focusing on your business."
Though she made it sound like she cared in the beginning, there was an obvious warning behind
Holley''s words.
Le had no intentions of allowing Holley to point out her mistakes and criticize her. Their alliance was
based on equality and mutual respect. Every time Holley talked to her, she felt like Holley was looking
down on her. She felt offended and was out of patience.
''What a self-conceited woman! Who does she think she is? She might be the general manager of
Tarsan Corporation, but she has no right to order me around like one of her staff. What makes her think
that she can treat me like her ve? Why should I obey her?''
Le made a long face and didn''t talk after that. Holley turned a blind eye towards Le''s unpleasant
expression. She hade there today to convey a message to Le in person. Now that her purpose

was achieved, Holley didn''t care about anything else.
As they headed out of the beauty salon, Holley walked ahead with her head held high. She looked so
brash, and left Le behind, pletely ignoring her presence.
But when she reached the exit, she turned and looked at Le. Waving the keys in her hand, she
asked, "Le, can I give you a ride home?"
Holley was aware that Le was living a hard life. She noticed that Le hade to meet her by bus.
So, she was just being nice to her.
Against the sunshine, Holley''s metallic keys reflected the sun''s sharp light. When the light shed on
Le''s face, she felt her heart shrink. Le couldn''t see through Holley''s good intentions; she thought
that Holley was deliberately showing off in front of her.
Le bit her lips painfully and shook her head. She contained her anger and smiled, "No, thanks. I am
heading to my store. So, if you''ll excuse me, I should go now."
Le walked away in the opposite direction. All that time, she didn''t look back. She kept her eyes on
the road.
Holley noticed that Le had felt bad, but she didn''t pay much attention to it. Watching Le recede into
the distance, she walked to her car and drove away.

couldn''t focus.

efficiently as he wanted. If his staff found out, it would be breaking news at thepany.
"Oh God..." Nick sighed, frustrated with himself. The information on theputer failed to get through
his head. Atst, he gave up and moved away from theputer.
He jumped to his feet and walked towards the French window in his office. It was a clear day.
The sky was blue and the wind blew gently. He felt like he could almost smell the faint scent of the
flowers outside.
He saw his reflection mirrored in the window ss, blurred and shadowy.
His eyes slowly widened
when he saw another blurry face emerge from behind him.
