Darkness. Everything around me is black, stretching off into the infinite distance. In this endless abyss I float, alive yet not alive, a being waiting to be born. A warm feeling flows into my core and I begin to take shape, the surrounding darkness gathering together to make my body.


    So I’m a human... ok then I can get behind this, the body seems pretty cool. What weapon would I like to use? Hmm, that’s a tough one. Let’s go with... a spear. Yeah, a spear would be nice. Darkness rushes towards my newly formed hand and takes shape. I grip the spear-shaft and give it a test swing. Distortions in the air (can it be called air? I’m not sure) gently lap against my torso as darkness flows around the darkness of my spear.     A prick of white light appears in the distance, getting bigger as time passes. The light grows until it is all-encompassing and invades my mind, robbing feeling from my body. Then eventually that fades back to darkness, not the abyss-like darkness of before, but a veil-like black that promises something lurks behind it. Control over myself come back to me and I realise that I’m lying down on something cold. I guess this is it then, I’m here now, I’ve been born. I open my eyes to a grey brick ceiling and breath in.


    Time to live I guess.
