Chapter 1019
Chapter 1019 Except Letting You Go
Zephyr brushed his cool fingers across her cheek, his voice gentle.
This is from N?velDrama.Org.
“Kitty, you almost died because of me, so I must take even better care of you. I can give you whatever
you want except letting you go,” he promised.
Johanna''s expression promptly darkened. Pinning her eyes on the loathsome countenance before her,
she snarled, “If I''d known earlier, I wouldn''t have saved you!”
In response, Zephyr shed her a smile. “Could you bring yourself to do that? You want to live. If I die,
you''ll also die.”
Johanna sneered, “Why are you so sure? I don''t believe there aren''t any lecherous men among those
who want to kill you. They love whatever belongs to others, be it yourpany or your woman. As long
as I behave, perhaps they will let me go after they get sick of me.”
To her, her body was nothing but a shell. She had long since stopped caring about it.
All she wanted was to go back alive.
“What a na?ve Kitty.” Zephyr stroked her hair gently as though he was really soothing a kitten.
At that precise moment, a door sounded at the door. Two housekeepers wheeled a serving cart with
food into the room.
“Wheel it to the study door,” Zephyr ordered mildly. Gently cing Johanna in the wheelchair, he
wheeled her to the study at the other end of the corridor.
After cing his finger on the fingerprint scanner to unlock the study door, he wheeled her in before
doing the same with the cart at the door.
The study was massive, but the colors weren''t as vivid as those in the bedroom and the others.
Instead, it had a colorbination of ck and gray, looking cold and monotonous, perfect for work
purposes.
The space had both a working area and a lounge area.
Zephyr wheeled Johanna to the lounge area. Grabbing the remote control, he lowered the projector on
the wall and clicked on a video on hisptop.
“Watch carefully, Kitty.”
Following his words, Johanna tensed up.
Regretfully, the pain from her shoulder in the next heartbeat had her frowning deeply. Having no other
choice, she could only rx her body as she gripped the armrests of the wheelchair hard.
Hah! He must have recorded some sort of video and wants to use it to humiliate me!
Soon, a video yed on the projector, but it wasn''t the type of video she had expected. The bloody
scenes and wails of agony reverberating in her ears had her trembling all over.
She felt as though she could see blood gushing out of the projector and scent the coppery stench of it.
Her stomach roiled. She turned her head to the side and threw up the water she had drunk that
morning.
Seeing that, Zephyr crouched before her and wiped her mouth with a piece of tissue.
He grasped the back of her neck, forcing her to look at him.
“Kitty, not every owner is gentle like me. Their methods are even more ruthless than you could ever
imagine. Not only are they afraid of me, but they''re also envious of me and yearn to kill me. s, they
don''t have that capability. Others might still survive in their hands, but you''re my pet, so you''ll only wish
for death if you end up in their hands.” Zephyr snickered softly.
Johanna''s lips quivered, and she couldn''t even utter a single word.
Sensing her body trembling in his hands, Zephyr found it amusing and somewhat pitiful. “You look as
though you''ve got some guts, daring to say anything, but why are you so easily frightened? Here, I''ll
show you something else for a change of scenery.”
He proceeded to reach for his phone from the table.
Johanna turned her head away. “I don''t want to see it. Take it away.”
“I thought you would like it.” Tapping on the video on his phone, Zephyrmented, “She''s quite cute.”
Johanna could vaguely hear Asel''s giggles, and she thought she was hallucinating.
When she ascertained that the sounds wereing from Zephyr''s phone, she promptly snatched it
from him and stared at the phone screen earnestly.
