    Chapter 708 He had Something To Tell Genev


    Before he left, Jack seemed to have sensed something. When he titled his head, he coincidentally met


    Armand''s gaze.

    Armand kept his cool and calmly watched while the pair departed from the banquet hall. Seconds after

    Cooper, standing close by, saw the waiter lead the man to the lounge before the former went to fetch


    some towels and antiseptic ointment. He then casually followed over and sat himself down on a corner

    “I''ve just realized that Jack hates you more than he does me.”

    Cooper sighed upon receiving that piece of ill news. “After expending all that time and effort, I almost


    thought that we had managed to save him. He called up Genev that day, so I think he might have had


    something he wanted to say to her.”


    Genevieve told him that Jermaine seemed to be quite anxious toward the end. He appeared to have


    wanted to tell her something, but ultimately, failed to do so in time.


    Remembering something asudden, Armand paused with his application of the antiseptic. “Jermaine


    had asked Dr. Zogby to pass along a message prior to his passing. He wanted you to take Genev to


    see his mother.”


    “His foster mother, Renee Zeigler?” asked an astonished Cooper. “Why?”


    “I''ve no idea either.” With his head lowered, Armand was deep in thought. “Do you remember how


    Jermaine kept stealing nces at Genev when we were drinking at the bar previously? And how he


    had also followed her when she went out to make a call?”


    He thus spected, “Could Jermaine have wanted you to bring Genev to see his parents because he


    fancied her?”


    “That''s impossible,” replied Cooper, shaking his head. “He''s gay.”


    Armand was stumped.


    After taking a sip of champagne, Cooper then told Armand, “Landon Lebon''s biological son is


    homosexual and had insisted on marrying his partner, but Landon and his wife Renee are very


    conservative. They felt it a disgrace to have their son behaving that way. For a time, Renee got so


    upset that she had to be hospitalized for a week. Later on, Landon went on to sever his ties with his


    own son.”


    He then continued, “Jermaine and his older sister were both adopted by Landon and his wife alongside


    each other. He was worried that his sister''s marital prospects would be affected should his adoptive


    parents learn about his sexual orientation. Sylvie may very well have been aware of this information


    concerning Jermaine, and could have been using it to threaten him.”


    In spite of finding out about Jermaine''s sexual orientation, Armand was still unable to figure out why he


    wanted Cooper to take Genevieve to his adoptive mother.


    “Just bring Genev over to the Lebons if you have the time,” Armand said.


    Cooper grunted in acknowledgement.


    Looking sideways at his counterpart, he could not figure out what else to say. “We''ve already got what


    we were after, so you don''t really have to marry Sylvie, you know.”


    That night, when Jack called Cooper, he went straight to the point of asking whether thetter knew


    where Genevieve got injected with Curb.emotion, and also told Cooper that he knew what Steven was


    searching for.
