    Cooper had been through a lot, and he wasn''t a young man anymore. However, Jane''s words made his heart flutter, and he felt like a teenager


    once more. In fact, he felt as though a girl he had a crush on had just confessed her feelings to him.

    Cooper hugged Jane tightly and leaned his head on her shoulder. After letting out a sigh, he said, “How lucky I am to have been loved by

    She then wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.


    Cooper was tightening his arms around her waist before he eventually let her go. In a hoarse voice, he said, “Go take a shower.”


    Jane shook her head and pressed her cheek against his. “I want to be with you.”


    “Be good, okay? We''ve talked about this.”


    “I haven''t given you your Christmas present.” She looked at him with her bright eyes and asked, “Don''t you want your Christmas present?”


    Cooper knew exactly what she meant, but he ended up pulling her arms away from his shoulders.


    Jane seemed disappointed. “Are you afraid?”


    “Why would I be afraid?” Cooper asked. “It''s just that I know I''m not a good person, so I don''t want to taint you.”


    Back then, for revenge, he had tried to destroy Genevieve, andter, he had been regretting his actions and trying his best to make it up to the

    Since Cooper had given Jane thest ounce of love he could afford to give, he didn''t want to hurt her.

    Jane held his face and kissed his cheek. “You''re the person I love the most. How could you possibly taint me? Since it''s such a special day, I

    She kissed his lips again and smiled. “The show I watched in the dance hall was rather sensual. Who knows? I might even dream about it


    tonight.”


    Cooper suddenly frowned when he heard that. Right then, he was getting slightly jealous.


    “You don''t want it? Fine.” Seeing how Cooper had not answered her in a while, Jane let go of him and backed away. “Let''s just pretend as if

    Late that night, Jane made sure Cooper was asleep before she cautiously moved his arm away from her waist. She put on her nightgown, took


    his phone, and went to the study.


    Since she knew the password, she managed to unlock his phone easily.


    She checked his messages and saw a text someone had sent to him a few hours ago. Her expression turned solemn.


    Earlier that night, when she saw Cooper going to the study to talk on the phone, she knew something was wrong. However, she didn''t know


    things were so dire.


    Jane turned on theptop on the desk and was busy working on it till dawn. It was only after the sun had risen that she closed the email tab


    and turned off theptop.


    When she went back to the bedroom and saw Cooper fast asleep, she went up to him and hugged him affectionately.


    After a long while, Jane let go of Cooper and kissed his lips. I better look at his face a while longer so that I can remember him forever.


    Cooper opened his eyes slightly and saw Jane staring at him. In a hoarse voice, he asked, “What''s wrong?”


    “My mom isn''t feeling well. I need to head back to Xedells.”


    “I''ll go with you.” Cooper instantly felt awake, and he wanted to get out of bed.


    “Who will you go as?” Jane chuckled before pushing him back into the bed. “I''ve already called Steven. He''ll keep mepany.”


    With that, she went to the walk-in closet to get changed.


    Cooper put on his pants and went after her. “Do you want to take the private ne? It''s a hassle to go to the airport.”


    “That''s not necessary. Steven has already booked flight tickets.”


    Before she left, she turned around and kissed Cooper. She then looked at him tenderly and said, “I''ll be back by six in the evening at thetest.


    I''ll definitely spend Christmas with you, Coop. Remember to miss me, okay?”


    “Okay.” Cooper leaned on the door and watched Jane leave.


    Deep down, he felt unsettled for no reason. Why do I feel as though this is ourst goodbye?
