“Well, well, you guys sure know how to pick a ce. Are you nning to save face on my turf, huh?” Zhou Chao chuckled at his own remark.
“Who said that? We’re here on behalf of Young Master Zhou to entertain Abduh!” Si Cong said solemnly, but theughter from Hou Ting beside him gave him away.
“Alright, alright, I know what you’re up to. Have fun, and if you need anything, just go find Tan Mingming. Tell her I said so!”
Zhou Chao didn’t want to dwell on this issue. Let them have a good time at the club; it would save him a lot of trouble.
After all, his golf club was quite well-equipped, with everything from hotels, bars, to KTVs. Moreover, all the service staff were stunningly beautiful women. As for the oue, it was up to them!
After ending the call, Zhou Chao casually tossed his phone aside and focused on reading the book in his hand.
Time quietly slipped away in the ocean of knowledge.
After some time, Zhou Chao, engrossed in his reading, suddenly felt his vision darken as a delicate hand covered his eyes.
“Why did you get up? Have a little more sleep!” Zhou Chao lightly patted the delicate hand on his face and said.
“I’m not a pig. If I sleep too long, just look at what time it is now! Jiang Li removed her hand and sat beside Zhou Chao.
“Uh!” Zhou Chao awkwardly smiled and nced at the time. It was almost 5 o’clock in the afternoon.
“I feel like I just read for a while, how did two or three hours pass so quickly.” “Maybe you were too engrossed, Brother Chao. What book are you reading?
Jiang Li asked curiously, ncing at the book in Zhou Chao’s hand.
“Here, it’s about semiconductors!” Zhou Chao said, handing the book to Jiang
Li.
After Jiang Li took the book, she looked at it for less than ten seconds before handing it back to Zhou Chao.
“Ipletely don’t understand!”
Zhou Chao chuckled and put the book away, not intending to continue reading.
“Let’s go inside, it’s windy outside!” Zhou Chao stood up, holding the book and phone in his left hand, and extended his right hand to Jiang Li.
Jiang Li took Zhou Chao’s right hand, allowing herself to stand up from the chair.
“Brother Chao, I want to go back tomorrow to see my parents. What do you think?”
Zhou Chao shook his head lightly, “Not a good idea!”
Hearing this, Jiang Li pouted and let go of Zhou Chao’s hand, standing still, sulking.
Turning his head to see Jiang Li looking a bit angry, Zhou Chao burst intoughter.
“You’re stillughing! Not only won’t you apany me back, but you’re alsoughing at me. That’s too much!” Jiang Li said as she walked to Zhou Chao’s side, using her ultimate move, the “little fists pounding your chest.
After enduring several hits, Zhou Chao finally hugged her tightly, “Is your husband that selfish? I already called your father this afternoon. He’s having a great time with your mom in Hangzhou.”
“Is it true?” Jiang Li asked with her big, hazel eyes wide open.
Zhou Chao pinched Jiang Li’s nose and chuckled, “Of course it’s true!”
Little did Zhou Chao know that after saying this, Jiang Li broke free from his embrace. “You, Zhou Chao, just wanted to see me embarrassed, huh? Ah, watch me bite you.”
The two of them ran around in the living room, ughing non-stop as they watched Ms. Kuang and Lin Wu busy in the kitchen.
Finally, Zhou Chao, worried that Jiang Li might overexert herself, deliberately let her catch up to him. There was even a barely noticeable bite mark on his arm.
Just as the two of them were sitting on the sofa, ying and teasing each other, Zhou Chao’s phone rang.
Jiang Li, quick to act, grabbed the phone from the table and found that the iing call was from her father, Jiang Youdao.
“Here, it’s a call from Dad!” Jiang Li handed the phone to Zhou Chao.
Zhou Chao took the phone and answered the call.
“Hello, Dad, have you returned to the hotel?”
“Yeah, we’ve been back for a while. What’s up? Did you call this afternoon for something?” Jiang Youdao’s voice carried a hint of fatigue, indicating that he had a rough afternoon.
“Dad, here’s the thing. Remember the gold mine on my ranch that was traded with Wang Lao’s assistance? There are two oil fields included in it, with a market value of around 200 billion US dors.
This afternoon, Wang Lao asked me toe over, saying that someone wants to buy my oil fields. That person is named Wei Lan. From the way he spoke and his rtionship with you, Dad, it seems quite good. I just wanted to ask you about this person!”
“Wei Lan?” Jiang Youdao muttered.
“Oh, I see. I’ve met him a few times before. Our rtionship is okay, just consider him an acquaintance. What’s the matter, did he cause trouble for you?”
Jiang Youdao, being a discerning person, knew that something must have happened for Zhou Chao to call and inquire about this.
“He didn’t cause any trouble for me. It’s just that he’s a bit cheeky. He’s offering to buy my oil fields worth over 200 billion for only 100 billion, saying it’s out of respect for you.”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Youdao’s anger surged. Was this considered a normal acquisition? It was almost like selling at a discounted price!
“This Wei Lan is really shameless! Respect for me? He’s lost all sense of shame. I’ll handle this matter. Don’t worry about it. I’ll call Wang Yiter and ask what he means by this!”
“Dad, don’t get worked up. This matter doesn’t have much to do with Wang Lao. At most, he just facilitated the connection. Besides, I don’t think Wang Lao even knows about this. It seems like Wei Lan’s own idea!”
Jiang Youdao didn’t speak immediately but pondered for a while before saying, “I see. It’s just this matter, right? Nothing else?”
“Nothing else important. It’s just that Jiang Li misses you a bit.
Upon hearing Zhou Chao’s words, Jiang Li also approached, wanting to hear what her father would say.
“Alright. Your mom and I finally have some alone time. Why does Jiang Li want to be a third wheel? Let her stay home and take care of herself. Alright, we’re going out for dinner. That’s all.” Jiang Youdao hung up the phone.
Zhou Chao burst into heartyughter holding the phone.
“Wife, it’s not me saying this. It’s Father-inw himself. It’s hrious!
On the other hand, Jiang Li muttered softly while holding a cushion, “It’s really too much. How can he say such things about his own daughter? He evenined that 1 was disturbing their alone time!”
She pounded the cushion a few times, nced at Zhou Chao, wanting to vent her frustration, but eventually gave up. With a huff, she sat on the sofa and started ying with her phone.
After dinner, Zhou Chao took Jiang Li for a stroll along the canal.
Perhaps due to the National Day holiday, the night was lively with many people out for walks after dinner, including tourists from out of town, looking around.
“Hey, Brother Chao, where did Abduh and the others go? Why aren’t you with them?”
“Abduh is probably having a great time right now. Si Cong showed up this afternoon and whisked Abduh and Hou Ting away for a good time.
You know Si Cong, always livingvishly. I bet they’re in some bar now, reveling in song and dance!”
“Ah!” Jiang Li nodded. She often heard stories about Si Cong.
At this moment, Si Cong and the others hadn’t gone elsewhere. They were still at Zhou Chao’s golf club, but now with many more beautifuldies around. The golf club’s hotel had its own luxurious KTV private rooms. With dazzling lights and lively music, many sexydies were dancing to the music.
Under Si Cong’s guidance, Abduh had learned how to y drinking games at the table, and he was now enjoying himself with four or five beautiful women. “Hey, Si Cong, isn’t this too much? We’ve already drank nearly two million worth of alcohol from Young Master Zhou. If he finds out, won’t he kill us?” Hou Ting looked at the various top-grade wines on the table and remarked.
Si Cong nced at him and chuckled, “What are you afraid of? Didn’t Young Master Zhou say this afternoon, ‘Just have fun’? And for Young Master Zhou, what’s a little money like this? Haven’t you heard Abduh say that Young Master Zhou made several hundred billion again this time, mostly from mineral resources, but money is money, it doesn’t matter!”
Hou Ting pondered for a moment, realizing the truth in Si Cong’s words. He promptly dismissed his previous concerns and called the waiter over to order several more bottles of top-notch Romanee-Conti wine.
“Let the music y on, let the dance continue. Tonight, we won’t return until we’re drunk!”
“Cheers!”
