Reaching out, Nichs tried to pull her up, but she was simply too emotionally overwhelmed. Instead, Caroline raised her hand and swung it at him.

She was like a grumpy child that sat on the ground, throwing her tantrum and grouchily kicking Nichs. Moreover, one of her feet was missing a shoe too! At that point, she was in a mess!
Although Nichs had never met someone so ungrateful, he subconsciously stood up and looked around before he picked up a ck leather shoe that was weaved with some suede from a corner.

Before he could finish his sentence, Caroline suddenly paused and her tears stopped rolling out of the corners of her eyes in an instant. She picked up the shoe and promptly slipped it on.

Nichs and Caroline both stood up at the same time. She wasn''t certain whether her feet were sore or numb, but she stumbled and felt confused just as she got up. Raising his hand, Nichs helped her up with a smile on his face.

Nichs turned around and dusted the suit he had worn while he slowly walked towards the entrance of the Heaven Star Clubhouse.
Caroline who stood behind him had remained still for two whole seconds. She nced around the empty street from the corner of her eyes before she lifted her feet and chased after him.
After he took a few steps forward, Nichs came to realize that Caroline was tailing him. He immediately halted and turned around while he stared at her.
Caroline came to a stop at the same time as Nichs did. She turned around before looking back at him with a pitiful demeanor. With her bag in her hands, she instinctively wrapped her arms in front of her body. Her hair and clothes were slightly messy, but her face was as clear as day. With a pair of big red eyes, she seemed exactly like a frightened bunny.
At first, Nichs kept quiet as he thought that she was merely passing by. Thus, he turned around and continued to move on.
Smacking her lips, Caroline paused for a while before she tailed him again.
Just as he arrived in front of the Heaven Star Clubhouse''s entrance, he realized that Caroline was still following him from behind. Nichs finally stopped and said, "Why are you still following me?"
Pursing her lips, Caroline''s eyes unwittingly swept around the dark and empty streets. There was nothing else besides cars and some pedestrians. "Who''s following you? I''m... I''m simply looking for my brother!"
Besides, she dared not to go home alone!
Her mind was filled with scenes of a woman who was stopped on the road by random strangers. As her heart thumped wildly, Caroline did not want to drive home alone! Noticing that Caroline was frowning with a stubborn look on her face, Nichs then pivoted his body and made way for her.
Standing still, Caroline''s eyes were slightly averted from him as she remained motionless for a long time.
With a single nce, Nichs faintly shook his head and continued to walk on. He subconsciously increased his pace while Caroline who stood behind him suddenly paused for a moment before she began to trot.
Nichs slowed down abruptly as soon as he heard the footsteps behind him. Unable to stop herself, Caroline unintentionally ran into him. She bounced backwards and was almost knocked out. Right then, she unconsciously snorted, "Argh..."
