Chapter 478
This wasn''t within Chet''s expectations of how things would turn out. The entire incident felt like a bad dream to him.
It was as if a whole century had gone by. Suddenly, a calm and cold voice emerged, "How many people were inside there?"
"They''re still cleaning up and picking up the bones inside. Judging from the number of skulls found... there were two."
Every word that came out of Chet''s mouth weighed down at the bottom of his heart. He had arranged bodyguards to protect her; he even tasked others to look over her at the store... Yet, this incident had urred at the worst possible time!
He closed his eyes and the atmosphere surrounding him was deathly still.
There weren''t many vehicles on the street at the moment. The cold wind howled and it was as if Frederick''s whole world had turned into the Sahara Desert. It was cold and dark; he was in despair and the darkness had engulfed him.
Then, he turned around and spoke.
"Gather all the surveince from tonight, all the information, results from theb and any clues rted to this incident. Find out what happened and get to the bottom of this. I''ll be waiting for you at Robson Garden! I want answers before dawn!"
Chet was shocked by his orders and his mouth was wide open for the rest of the day.
Wasn''t Frederick sad nor driven crazy by the fact that Miss nchard was gone forever? Why did he seem so calm about it? Not a single tear was shed by him at all!
However, for various reasons, Chet felt an unprecedented fear and pressure from him. It was like the most terrifying silence before a storm...
At four o''clock in the morning, Chet was tired but he forced himself to go over to Robson Garden. When he entered thepound, he was escorted into the kitchen. Right then, he noticed that Frederick had sat on a stool that was on the ground. In front of him was a huge basin full of bowls and tes. His hands were soaked in them, and he kept scrubbing them continuously.
The bowls and tes were sparkling clean; even the water was as clear as the ocean. On the contrary, his hands were damp and his fingers were wrinkled. It was obvious that he had been washing the dishes for a very long time.
As soon as he saw this, his jaw dropped. "Frederick, are you alright?"
What on Earth was he doing?
Frederick didn''t get any rest since he came back from the previous night''s incident. He also didn''t sleep nor investigate the incident further. Instead he had been doing the dishes in the kitchen the entire time. Was he traumatized?
He wasn''t bothered at all and his eyes weren''t even raised upon Chet''s arrival. "Speak!" He said.
"We''ve tracked the car that followed Miss nchard. It belongs to an ordinary factory worker, and his name is Mike. He tailed her just because he was fond of her beauty. Besides that, he wanted to take pictures of her as well! In the end, he was too timid to do so and merely followed her the entire way. He didn''t approach her at all and left shortly after. I''ve asked someone to verify this person, Mike. He doesn''t have any criminal records and he wasn''t poor. Surprisingly, he has been single for many years since his wife passed on from an illness. I doubt that her death has any connections with Miss nchard. I also verified that after she entered Lovely Scent, he had driven away before it got dark. The urrence of the fire isn''t rted to him."
Frederick wasn''t fazed by his words; he persistently washed the dishes. Seeing that no words were uttered by him, Chet resumed speaking. "Due to the current rectifications of the area, there weren''t many stores that were open. Several stores were still experiencing a power outage. Therefore, there was limited surveince. The only thing they could recover was the traffic surveince on the street! Since Lovely Scent is a source of perfume fragrances, it''s undeniable that they contained a lot of alcohol inside, therefore there should be an abundance of mmable materials in the store. The store was close to some residential areas, so it''s possible that the explosion could be triggered by boiling water or cooking. That evening, the store was closed and someone had delivered a batch of goods over to them. Miss nchard and the shop owner were the only ones there! The surveince showed that thest frame was of Miss nchard heading out. The bodyguard mentioned that she went to the pharmacy and bought a specific medicine for nerve tremors, then she headed out to grab a parcel. However, during this time, Lovely Scent was already on fire and Miss nchard went back to the shop immediately. Just before she came back, our bodyguards went back into the car beside the flower bed. They were knocked out at the same time! Before one of the bodyguards fainted, Miss nchard seemed to have rushed
into the perfume store..."
Frederick''s hand stopped moving and he finally stood up.
"Who knocked out the bodyguards? Did you check the Lovely Scent''s boss'' profile? Did Alicia have anything to do with her? Why did she rush in at such a critical situation?"
Who? Who could''ve possibly taken out the bodyguards and schemed against Alicia? Who wanted her life so badly?
"I have my suspicions that someone
is here for Miss nchard! Because the surveince camera captured thest frame picture of the store, where Miss nchard took off her coat and handed it to the shop owner. That implies that..."
"The boss was wearing Alicia''s clothing when she died, wasn''t she?" Was this explosion originally plotted for Alicia?
Who would''ve wanted her dead without a single trace left behind?
Frederick clenched his fists, and it was noticeable that his eyes were flooded with rage. "Whoever wanted her dead will suffer ruthless consequences!"
Chet nodded. He spoke up.

The ce where Miss nchard had gone to pick up the parcel was also a blind spot from the surveince! The bodyguard mentioned something about her crossing the street to the opposite side as if she''d noticed something odd, but she promptly returned shortly. The person who knocked them out must''ve been an expert and also a man. The bodyguards weren''t aware of anyone approaching them at that moment. They checked all of the surveince footage, but the ce where they were targeted was also a blind spot. The culprit had destroyed the surveince cameras and there was nothing left."

Frederick punched a bowl and it was smashed into pieces. In mere seconds, blood spilled everywhere. However, it wasn''t as heavy as the guilt in his heart. "Who on Earth did this? Why did they have such a big feud against Alicia?"
"Frederick!"
Chet swiftly tended to his wounds. "Stop it. I''m the one who failed my task!"
It was very peculiar! If someone had spied on Alicia for such a long time, then why didn''t Frederick notice anything? Instead, why did they choose this moment to execute their ns?
