Chapter 225
Danica thought that Frederick would have changed the way he treated her after knowing the
miserable truth. She stayed at home, waiting for Frederick to reach out to her. Surprisingly, there
weren''t any callsing in. She was shocked!
How was that possible?
That day, Danica looked at her phone again and again. "Nothing! Not even a message!" she
thought.
She feared that she was too aggressive, therefore she stopped herself from calling Frederick. But,
deep down, she was as anxious as a cat on hot bricks.
Meanwhile, in the CEO''s office of Soaver International, Frederick worked surprisingly efficiently ever
since he made up with Alicia. Plus, several projects that had been signed smoothly further raised
his mood to another height.
Returned from a meeting, he contentedly brewed a cup of coffee. He watered the flowers and
personally trimmed the branches.

Entering the office, Chet couldn''t help but nce at him a few times. Why was Frederick in such an
ted mood?
Looking at the pot of jasmine Frederick was trimming, Chet felt puzzled.
"I have reviewed the financial report for this month. It is better than our expectations!"
"Great!" Returning to his seat, Frederick took out a pen and signed the document. Then, he handed
the report back to Chet and said, "Good job! Reward those who deserve it."
Chet nodded. Before going out, Chet nced at him again. It seemed that he was in a good mood
compared to days ago.
"By the way, Crouch Construction''s bidding has been enlisted! My guess is that they will win the bid.
I have also asked someone to negotiate with Graham. The samples he gave us are indeed
premium grade and his offer price was lower than the market price. When the timees, if their
products don''t meet our requirements, they would have topensate us. The Crouch family will
suffer a big loss! I think they have gone crazy thinking about profit! They really are going all-in for
this."
What a stupid thought! How were they willing to take such significant risks? It''s a massive bet on
their own reputation! Chet thought to himself.
"Anyway, there will be someone to tender it, just let them be! The manufacturer who takes over will
have to review again then. Just make sure they are not holding us back! Then, we''ll be fine."
"Understood. I used another project to call for bids and it should be in process now."
Looking at Frederick walking back to his seat with the coffee he brewed, Chet couldn''t help but ask,
"Frederick, you seem... so ted. Is it because your private affairs have been settled?"
Chet actually wanted to ask, "Is it over between you and Miss Randolph?"
While looking at Chet, Frederick stirred the coffee. "Yeah! I feel... great recently!"
Everything had cleared up. Life seemed to be perfect at that moment!
If life couldst like this forever, it would be really satisfying. It would be perfect if Alicia and
Frederick had a child with them!
Thinking of having a child, Frederick was stunned again.
His childhood actually affected him greatly. If it wasn''t for Mrs. Clements that always said that she
wanted to have a grandchild, he wouldn''t even think of having one at all! At least, he wanted his life
to stay like this for the time being.
Frederick was actually not confident about his rtionship with Alicia. No matter how intimate they
were, their love bubble would still pop eventually. His parents were once so deep in love too.
Besides, the way how he and Danica ended their rtionship had caused some lingering fears in
his heart.
In Frederick''s mind, he could do anything as long as he learned from his mistakes and never give
up. However, having a child was different.
If Frederick had a child, he must protect him and give him aplete and harmonious growing
environment no matter what happens.
Therefore, Frederick would only consider having children when everything was stable.
Currently, Frederick hoped to deepen his bond with Alicia. Only then would they consider having a
baby.
"What about Miss Randolph? What if she was telling the truth?" What if she begged again?
Wouldn''t Frederick feel sorry for her?
Frederick sighed and replied to Chet.
"I feel sorry for what happened to her but I can''t let Alicia suffer because of Danica''s misfortune.
The best I can do is to take care of her!"
But, Frederick wouldn''t sacrifice what he and Alicia had again. Danica''s misfortune was sympathetic
but it was not Alicia''s fault. Other than Danica, Alicia also needed him.
Listening to Frederick''s words, Chet nodded. "I admire you! You care about everything around you
and you never hesitate on anything!"
Chet knew that he was following the right person. Besides having a great sense of aplishment,
he really did learn a lot from Frederick.
They made a toast with their coffee before taking a sip as if it was a scene from a superhero''s
movie.
"Oh, yes. I almost forgot! It is East Bannpool''s tenth anniversary in a few days. They have nned
large-scale activities for a celebration thatsts for a week. Master Bowles called. He had specially
arranged a day for all the VIPs and asked us to attend!"
"Okay. Remind me againter!"
Meanwhile, Alicia was busy with her work every day. Excluding Jeremy''s and Lindsay''s asional
harassment, Alicia''s life seemed to be back on track again.
Even since her rtionship with Frederick went well, she felt relieved. Not to mention that she had
solved her own financial crisis too. Her face was glowing. This caused her to be harassed by a lot of
men and was the gossip of her colleagues.
Even so, she was used to dealing with them.
She even dealt with crazier pursuits before.
There was a guy at St. Abbott University. He came with roses in his car and waited for Alicia at the
gate for seven days straight. Some guys would block her way and some would pay for everything
she bought. Almost every week, there would be some guy there to get her. Initially, she enjoyed that
treatment until she eventually felt annoyed one day. When something happened to her family, not
only no one helped her they even aggravated her condition.
When they were pursuing her, they said a lot of sweet things such as, "I can''t live my life without
you!" But, when things went south, they just abandoned her.
Therefore, at present, Alicia refused to give her number away. If the people who asked insisted, she
had no choice but to give. Yet, she would neglect any messages or calls from them.
Of course, the number she gave was actually one she purposely bought and ced in her old
phone. It only cost her ten dors per month to keep herself away from harassment.
One day, after finishing her work, Alicia went to make herself a cup of tea. Sitting back in her seat,
her phone rang. It was Marshall who was calling in. Upon looking at his name, Alicia answered
without hesitation as they had been discussing her father''s operation for a while now.
"Doctor rk!" Alicia greeted upon answering the phone.
"Miss nchard, your father is awake!"
