Chapter 42
It was a call from the manager of the nightclub where she worked part-time. He told her that he had
an important appointment and wanted her to dance there. He mentioned that he would double the
sry and that her job would end before 10 o''clock at night. Alicia was so happy as if she had won
the lottery. It was indeed a good job for her.
Hanging up the phone, Alicia was so thrilled that she almost shouted in joy.
God was fair indeed! When she remembered that Frederick had given her two bonuses in the
morning and that she just got an offer of a doubled sry, she suddenly felt that she was not that
unlucky anymore!
She didn''t dare to go to the nightclub too often, even when she had part-time work there. She would
only go there six days a month. Sometimes, twice a week; sometimes, once a week. She thought
that in this way, it won''t be as suspicious even if she went homete.
She went online and checked her bank ount. After a rough calction, Alicia was instantly full of
energy again. Although she was still short of money, she was close to solving the financial problem.

After working, Alicia went to the hospital again to visit her father. She talked to him for a while.
"Dad, now that I have grown up, I am no longer the naive little girl who was capricious and was
always pursuing love! I can cook, wash clothes, and I can take care of Mom... Although I have to
work a little harder, I understand how hard it was for you to support our family in the past!"
She continued saying, "Dad, I met a very good man. We are married! Your son-inw is very rich
and treats me very well. He bought me a box of my favorite Dior lipsticks on a business trip. It was
such a big box... Just like what you used to do when you went for a trip. You always remembered to
buy me a gift! Don''t worry, I''ll be strong and won''t be easily knocked down. Dad, when you are well,
you can meet him! Mom and I need you here!"
"As long as we can be together, it doesn''t matter where we are or whether we are poor or rich. We
won''t be starving as long as we work. Now, Mon and I are living happily. Dad, you have to get better
as soon as possible! I''ll wait for you to go home and be reunited with us!" Alicia said.
She massaged her father and helped him move his limbs around as an exercise. After sitting for a
while, Alicia got up and left.
On the way home, she suddenly recalled Mrs. Clements saying that Frederick liked to eat ravioli.
Seeing that it was still early, she ran to the supermarket and bought some fresh vegetables and
shrimp.
She only bought half a kilogram of shrimp. When she counted it, there were only thirty-two shrimps.
It should be enough for one person. Then, she began to prepare the meal.
As she was done wrapping up the ravioli, she thought about whether she should call Frederick and
ask him if he woulde back. Then, Alicia heard the sound of the door opening. She ran out with
her hand still holding the ravioli.
"Hubby, you are back?" Alicia eximed.
She went forward happily. When she was about to reach out and take the briefcase in his hand, she
withdrew her hand and said, "You can change your clothes first! I''ve made some ravioli. I''ll go and
cook them now!"
She turned around and ran back in a hurry. Her pleasant steps made her appear to be flying.
Frederick didn''t realize that the corners of his mouth rose a little.
After changing his clothes, Frederick headed to the dining area. Alicia was served the ravioli on the
table alongside the cutlery.
"Hubby, hurry up. Try it when it''s still hot!"
She pushed the dish over. This time, Alicia did not eat. She was beaming. Looking at the steaming
hot ravioli, it seemed that her heart was filled all of a sudden. When Frederick picked up the fork, his
eyebrows furrowed out of the blue...
