Elísa nodded in agreement, her voice deep and solemn. Unconsciously, she pressed down on the
elerator.
Upon arriving at thepany building by car, arge crowd had already gathered.
There were spectators watching the unfolding drama, media personnel, firefighters, and newly arrived
police officers.
Most importantly, there was a group of migrant workers, all dressed in blue overalls and yellow hats.
Regardless of their status, everyone had their eyes fixed on the top of the building.
Elisa stepped out of the car and, with the protection of the security guards, she had to make her way
through the crowd.
During this time, it was unclear whether someone intentionally stirred up everyone’s emotions or if it
was just an inadvertent shout.
In short, someone called out Elisa’s name.
“Isn’t that Elisa, the Chairman of Bt Corporation?”
Suddenly, everyone started moving towards her.
Some media outlets wanted to understand the situation. After the incident where Elisa rified things
during a live online broadcast, she had thoroughly offended the media. Therefore, most of the medial

Others were simply curious onlookers.
Another group consisted of migrant workers.
Elisa didn’t have a problem with those two groups of people. However, she was worried about the
presence of those who were there to worsen the situation.

Behind her, a group of about a dozen people, most of them wearing fierce expressions, seemed eager
to tear Elisa apart and feast on her flesh and blood.
They bared their teeth and ws, shouting at Elisa to pay back the money. Some people said, “You’re
just putting on an act. You said the unpaid wages had nothing to do with you. What about the reality?
You speak nicely online, but where’s thepensation? What about the negotiation process, the
wages, and the understanding of the situation?”
“Indeed, my fellow journalists, you must expose the true nature of this woman.”
“She should be arrested!”
Each of them had a menacing look on their face. If it weren’t for the security guards surrounding and
protecting Elisa so well, things could have turned out differently. In fact, Elisa could have been
ambushed right then and there.
Regardless of how those people treated her, Elisa remainedposed and indifferent, as if all of this
had nothing to do with her.
Yet, a surge of anger still inevitably welled up in her heart.
Her anger reached its peak when someone threw a shoe at her.
If she hadn’t reacted quickly, she could have been hit by the shoe.
That was a great humiliation. Elisa stopped in her tracks, her dark eyes fixed intently on the person
who had thrown the shoe.
That person was aborer, likely arranged by someone behind the scenes to act that way.
Perhaps it was unexpected that Elisa would immediately focus on him amidst the chaotic scene, let
alone that she would stare at him so intently without missing a beat. It was somewhat unsettling for the
laborer.
His gaze continued to shift restlessly, no longer meeting Elisa’s. Yet, he could still sense Elisa’s eyes
on him. Elisa’s hand gradually clenched into a fist, tightening.
Through his earphones, Gareth listened to the cacophonying from the other end of the phone,
faintly discerning the sound of insults. His eyebrows furrowed deeply.
Then, Elisa heard Gareth’s familiar voice ringing in her cars.
“Don’t listen to them or believe them. There’s a high chance these people are deliberately trying to
provoke you. If they manage to cause even the slightest ripple in your emotions, they’ve achieved their
goal,” he advised.
The fist that Elisa had been tightly clenching suddenly rxed.
She had just arrived and was still clueless about the situation. Yet, all of a sudden, she found herself
surrounded by a crowd eager to watch the drama unfold. She was even showered with a torrent of
insults.
Anyone would find such treatment hard to bear.
