    Thalia furrowed her brow. “I just talked about this with Natasha.”

    “Yes, the mother of the three kids,” Thalia exined.


    “You''re close to her?” Kyle asked suddenly, his memory shing back to their encounter at the


    airport. Her presence had left a strong impression.

    “Why do I get the feeling that your words are more of a defense than a critique?” Kyle asked.


    “Who else does he have, and what''s wrong with being attracted to beauty?” Thalia countered, her

    “I''m not overly invested,” Thalia replied.


    “Are you sure about that?” Kyle inquired, recalling how she had been willing to protect that woman

    us,” Thalia reasoned, then hastily added, “And she''s the mother of children like Anthony, Benjamin,


    and Denise. How could she be ordinary?” She was worried that Kyle might be suspicious and
