Chapter 1025
“Make up for it? Is there more where this came from? How many things does he n to buy and gift
me for the marriage proposal?” wondered Lillian as she broke out in a cold sweat.
When the car arrived downstairs of the Quinn residence, Lillian unfastened her seat belt and was
about to get off when she saw Callum still sitting in his seat as if in a daze.
“What’s the matter? Are you not getting out?” asked Lillian.
Callum suddenly came to his senses and looked at her. Then he took a deep breath and said, “I’m
getting
out now,”
However, when Callum followed Lillian upstairs while he carried all the stuff he had bought, Lillian
kept stealing nces at him. Suddenly, she asked, “Are you all right? Do you feel hot? Your
forehead is covered in sweat.”
As she said that, she took a tissue and stood on tiptoe to help him wipe away his sweat.
“I’m nervous,” replied Callum.
“You are nervous?” A trace of surprise shed in Lillian’s eyes as she said that. “What are you
nervous about? Haven’t you been constantly meeting my parents these days? Besides, if you tell
them about us getting a marriage certificate, they won’t raise any objections!”
Callum mused, ‘But even so, I’m still nervous! I can’t believe I’m behaving like this. I have always
prided myself on being aposed person. I have always been able to deal with anything calmly,
no matter howplicated matters get.
But just thinking about the fact that I’m meeting Lillian’s parents in a moment to ask for their
daughter’s hand in marriage, I can’t help but get nervous. I’m worried I might say something wrong
in front of them.
I know I’m feeling this way because I love her.’ The deeper one loved someone, the more nervous
they would be and the more afraid they would be of any possibility of losing the person they
loved. “I’m only worried that your parents will still be a little dissatisfied with me and don’t have such
great opinions of me as a son-inw,” mumbled Callum.
Lillian couldn’t help smiling. “What nonsense! I can tell you for sure that they hold you in great
esteem in their hearts. Besides, I am pregnant with your child. Who else can I marry if not you? If it
everes down to it, and they are against you, I will still marry you.”
Lillian fixed her gaze on Callum, and determination shed through her oval-shaped eyes as she
said in a clear and firm voice, are the only person I’m willing to get married to in this lifetime,
Callum.”

The look in Lillian’s eyes and her serene voice seemed to have slowly calmed Callum’s
nervousness. “And you are the only person I’m willing to marry too, Lillian!”
Soon, they entered the Quinn residence. Lillian had called her parents in advance and told them
that Callum woulde over to have dinner with them in the evening. Therefore, Abigail had
prepared a scrumptious spread for them.
When Abigail saw Calluming in loaded with bags, she politely asked him, “Gosh! You are just
here for a meal! Why did you get so much stuff just for this? Are these all for Lillian?”
“No, it’s for the both of you, Mr. and Mrs. Quinn,” said Callum as he gave the gifts to them
respectively. Stephen looked at the wine Callum had bought for him and said smilingly, “This is quite
an expensive wine. As it happens, let’s both drink to our heart’s content today!”
Lillian was embarrassed to tell Stephen that this bottle of wine cost tens of thousands of dors,
which could offset his one-year sry.
Abigail looked at the jewelry Callum gave her and eximed, “T-This is too expensive, Callum. How
much did it cost you? I’m sure this set you back by at least tens of thousands of dors!”
When Lillian heard Abigail, she didn’t know whether it was a good idea to tell her that the jewelry
cost nearly 4 million dors, not mere tens of thousands of dors!
“But if I really let Mom know about this, I’m afraid she will rush to the bank overnight to lock the
jewelry in a safety deposit box,” thought Lillian.

Callum said, “It’s not that expensive. As it is, you can wear this jewelry during Lillian and my
wedding ceremony in the near future, Mrs. Quinn.”
“Wedding?” echoed Abigail in a daze. Stephen, who had just uncorked the wine bottle and was
pouring wine into the ss in front of him, also looked at Callum dumbfounded. He hadpletely
forgotten about the wine he had been pouring just now.
Stephen only came to his senses and hurriedly stopped pouring the wine when Lillian called out
anxiously, “Dad, the ss is full! The wine is spilling out!”
Stephen and Abigail turned toward Callum in unison and stared at him intently before they
simultaneously asked, “Are you guys nning to get married?”
“That’s right, Mr. and Mrs. Quinn,” replied Callum affirmatively. “But Lillian is already a few months
along and wouldn’t be able to bear the stress of a wedding. So, I n to get a marriage certificate
with her first. We will hold the wedding ceremony after the baby is born. Will it be fine, with both of
you, if we do it this way?”
“Of course! We are fine with it!” said Stephen and Abigail smilingly. Lillian’s marriage had always
been one of their biggest worries.

Originally, Stephen and Abigail had been discussing how they could subtly bring up marriage talks.
But, things had turned out even better than what they expected as Callum had brought up the
matter himself first.
“Now that we have gotten that out of the way, as the bride’s family, do you both have any fequest of
me? As long as it is within my power, I will try to fulfill it,” said Callum.
“The only thing we would like to ask from you is for you to take good care of Lillian. We do not wish
for anything else,” said Stephen and Abigail.
Callum nodded slightly and said, “All right, then. I will handle everything.”
The atmosphere was harmonious as they had their dinner. When they were done with their meal,
Callum took the initiative to carry the dirty dishes into the kitchen to be washed.
Abigail looked at her future son-inw with approval as she thought, “How many people in a
position like him would actually lower themselves to wash dishes like this?”
“Lillian, your father and I are really d you have found a good husband for yourself. Now he and I
can rest assured,” said Abigail to her daughter.
Lillian said with a smile, “Dad! Mom! Callum and I will be fine. You don’t have to worry about me
anymore. In the future, even if I’m married, I will still do everything I can for you both. When that
timees, you can go off traveling if you want. A round-the-world trip sounds good too!”
“What do you mean by a round-trip around the world? When your baby is born, we will help you
take care of it!” said Stephen and Abigail. Although they were sure that Callum would definitely find
the best nanny for Lillian in the future, they had always wanted to help bring up any grandson or
granddaughter that Lillian might have.
Stephen alsoughed and joined in the conversation. “Callum is a gentleman and has never
behaved arrogantly with us. So, make sure you don’t bully him after you get married, Lillian!”
“Dad! Do you really think I will be able to bully him?” muttered Lillian.
“What is this talk about bullying?” Callum’s voice suddenly resounded.
Lillian looked over and saw that Callum had finished washing the dishes and had walked out of the
kitchen.
“Nothing!” said Lillian hurriedly.
“If that’s the case, go get your household registry and ID card, You can spend the night at my ce
today. We can directly head to the City Hall in the morning to register our marriage,” said Callum.
“You want to register our marriage tomorrow?” asked Lillian, dumbfounded, “Aren’t we rushing too
much?”
“Then when do you want to register our marriage?” asked Callum as he raised his eyebrow.
“The sooner you do it, the better. Do you want to dy the registration until you give birth to your
baby?” asked Stephen as he knocked Lillian on the forehead.
09:34
Abigail hurriedly found the household register and Lillian’s ID card and stuffed them into her hands.
Then she leaned closer to her daughter and whispered, “You had better get registered as soon as
possible. I will hold you ountable if I find out that you have not registered by tomorrow!”
Lillian broke out in a cold sweat and wondered, “How desperate is Mom to get me married off?”
