Chapter 239
Rosalie hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement. She didn’t want to embarrass the
butler.
After that, Rosalie asked the driver to take her to a shopping mall downtown.
Rosalie wanted to buy something that would be suitable for elderly people to use on a regr basis.
Since the mall’s basement had a food hall, she decided to head there first.
After checking out the pastries, Rosalie selected some that were suitable for, the elderly, as well as
those who had high blood sugar. Even though they were a little expensive, Rosalie was reminded
that Wilma’s blood sugar would sometimes exceed the usual limit. In the end, she decided to
purchase the pastry.
Having paid the bill, she took the esctor while carrying the pastries.
As soon as Rosalie reached the second floor, a figure suddenly rushed toward her. Before she
could see who the person was, she was pped hard in the face.
The p made Rosalie stumble and almost fall to the ground. She managed to stabilize herself, but
the pastry box in her hand fell to the ground.
“And here I thought it’d be someone else. Turns out that it’s really you, the troublemaker! So you’re
out and about now? And you’re actually shopping at the mall?” The scolding and curses rang in
Rosalie’s ears.
In a slight daze, Rosalie covered her cheek and looked at the angrydy in front of her.
“This face… I remember her!” Rosalie thought to herself.
Back then, when Rosalie was in court, that woman had run toward her and pped her fiercely a
few times, causing her to bleed from the corners of her mouth. It took a few days for the swelling to
reduce from her face.
Even though the judicial police were standing beside her, they didn’t stop the woman from hitting
her, as if they deliberately set aside time for the woman to hit her.
This woman was Mnie’s mother, Sandra Hamilton.
Rosalie didn’t dare think about the reason behind it. Was it because the other party was the
Hamilton family? As for Rosalie, she had no background and was a forsaken soul kicked away by
the Xanthos family.
Now, even after being released from prison, the woman had pped her hard in front of her. Then,
as if the first p wasn’t enough, the woman’s other hand wanted to strike her again.
In an almost subconscious move, Rosalie raised her arm and grabbed the other party’s hand.
“I didn’t harm anyone!” Rosalie stared at her coldly,
“The court has found you guilty. How dare you say that you haven’t hurt anyone? It’s only been
three years. Hah! You’ve only been in jail for three years. In my opinion, you should spend your
whole life in prison instead!” Sandra said angrily as she raised another hand, wanting to hit Rosalie
again.
Rosalie was only able to block the woman’s attack with her other hand. “Surely there are unjust and
wrongly convicted cases in the court! Listen, I don’t owe you anything, and you have no right to hit
me!”.
“Rights?” Another middle-aged man’s voice interrupted them. “People like you do not have the right
to speak about rights.”
Rosalie froze and looked up at the man who came over. It was Mnie’s father, Howard.
If Jonathan had a part in her nightmare in prison, Howard yed a role in it as well.
At this moment, there were several security guards beside Howard.
Howard said to them coldly, “Go help Mrs. Hamilton, and don’t let this crazy woman hit her.”
Those bodyguards hurriedly stepped forward and pulled Rosalie and Sandra apart.
“Honestly, aren’t you afraid of being a joke in such a ce?” Howard said.
Sandra replied furiously, “It’s all because I got so mad seeing her. Tell me, is she even aware of
what she’s saying? In spite of the fact that she caused Mnie’s death, she imed that she hadn’t
hurt anyone!”
Howard stared at Rosalie with his sharp eyes. “You’re out. However, whether you were wrongly
convicted is a matter for the court. But when you talk about rights…”
Howard’s gaze was filled with disdain, as though he was looking at an ant that he could trample to
death. “I really don’t think you deserve to be talking about rights in front of me.”
Then he said to the security guard beside him, “Get this woman out of here and distribute her
photos to the mall’s security guards and manager. This woman is not allowed to enter this mall
again in the future.”
The security guards responded, and then they were about to throw Rosalie out immediately.
“M-My things are still on the ground.” Rosalie had already realized that if the other party could say
such a thing, it would mean that the Hamilton family owned the mall, or was one of its biggest
shareholders. Hence, they were able to instruct the security guards.
At that moment, she simply wanted to pick up the box with pastries on the ground and leave.
N?velDrama.Org holds ? this.
To her surprise, Howard said directly to another security guard, “Throw this garbage into the trash
can. It’s an eyesore.”
The security guard picked up the box of pastries on the ground and threw them into the trash can
next to him.
Rosalie’s face suddenly turned red. This was nothing short of a tant humiliation. What was more,
the other party had deliberately chosen to humiliate her in public.
But what was even more unfortunate was that she didn’t have the strength to fight back right now.
She could only be escorted out of the mall like a troublemaker.
When two security guards escorted Rosalie to the entrance of the mall, they finally let go of her and
warned, “Don’t cause any trouble ore back in. Otherwise, we’ll call the police and sue you for
disrupting the order of the mall.”
Rosalie felt ridiculous. She studiedw, but now she’s being threatened by it. Clenching both her
hands tightly into fists, which were hung by her side, she gritted her teeth. Her gaze passed beyond
both security guards, through the transparent ss doors of the mall, and into the interior of the
shopping center.
Rosalie tried to tell herself that there was no need to be sad, upset, or even in pain over something
like this.
The more she reacted to it, the more it would y into their hands. After all, Howard and the others
wanted to embarrass her.
Perhaps they had their own reasons. They believed she was responsible for Mnie’s death, but
she didn’t do it at all. “Mnie’s death was unjustly, but what about me? I’ve been framed as well!”
Rosalie pondered/
What could she do to put up with this?
Even if she exined that she was framed by the Hamilton family, all they gave her was humiliation
time and time again.
It felt as if something was suppressing her heart, almost making it difficult for her to breathe.
She wanted to clear her name and never wished to face usations or insults for things that
weren’t her fault anymore.
Meanwhile, Sandra seemed to be holding on to her resentment as she said, “She’s getting off too
easy by being driven out of the mall-like this!”
“What else do you want, then?” Howard asked.
“She should be locked up in prison for at least another eight or ten years! She’s only been in prison
for a few years. Letting her out so soon is really too easy for her!” Sandra said resentfully. “And she
was still in the mood for some shopping? What about Mnie? She left us at such a young age! If
Mnie hadn’t died, she would’ve been Mrs. Youngblood now! Mnie had such a promising life,
but she ruined it!”
