    Chapter 205 Cold and Distant


    At their home in Northern No. 1, Amanda and Aiden were having their meal around the table. The


    young boy was pigging out on the food as he found it delicious.


    On the other hand, Amanda didn’t have much appetite. Her mind was upied by the usations of


    Jennifer and Oscar.


    It was just then that Selina came over with a bowl of pumpkin soup. “Hurry up and eat it. The food won’t


    be as delicious when it’s not warm.”


    “Alright.” Amanda forced a smile and started having her food.


    The doorbell rang just then, so Selina took off her apron and said, “Go on having your food. I’ll answer


    the door.”


    Then, she shuffled toward the door. When she registered Elias’ presence through the monitor, she was


    surprised.


    She turned to look at Amanda and whispered, “It’s your ex-husband. Do you want to open the door?”

    Upon hearing that, Aiden stopped having his food and looked awkwardly at Amanda before saying,

    Ten minutester, the young boy still didn’t leave the bathroom. Elias frowned with displeasure and


    took a look at his wristwatch before asking grimly, “Are you sure he’s in the bathroom? It’s taking too


    long.”


    Indeed, Aiden had been staying in the bathroom for far too long as 30 minutes had passed. “I’ll go and


    see what he’s doing. He’s been staying inside the bathroom for too long.” Amanda announced.


    She rose from the couch and headed to the bathroom while the man followed her. His towering figure


    was in stark contrast to how petite the woman looked.


    Outside the bathroom, Amanda knocked on the door. “What are you doing inside, Aiden? Mr. Winters…

    Elias furrowed his brows, realizing that something was amiss.


    It seemed that the young boy didn’t want to see him, which was why he was trying to avoid him. Elias


    hoped he was just overthinking things. Regardless of how hard Amanda knocked on the door, Aiden,


    refused to open it. He came up with an excuse and said, “I have to poop, Mommy. Don’te in!” But

    Amanda nced at the man and saw a hint of doubt behind his

    “What are you doing, Aiden? Come out right away!” Amanda realized that the young boy was lying.

    was on the young boy’s mind, Elias stopped Amanda from knocking on the door.


    “Forget it. I’ll visit him another day. Give him some time.”


    The man looked at the door and said solemnly, “Aiden, it’s fine even if you don’t want to call me Dad.


    You can still call me Uncle Elias. Come out and eat your food. Otherwise, you’ll be hungry and can’t


    sleep at night.”


    With that, he turned around and left without even saying goodbye. He wasn’t in the mood to stay there


    any longer. There were many things he had to deal with, and he was going to meet some smaller


    shareholders.


    When Amanda saw how dispassionate and exhausted he looked, she ran after him and called out to


    him. “Elias…”


    The man stopped in his tracks and turned around. “What’s wrong? Anything else?”


    Amanda wasn’t used to the man acting so cold and distant, which was unlike how he used to treat her.

    that Elias was in love with her. But now, she could clearly feel that he had seemingly decided to let go

    “You… How have you been doing for the past few days? Is everything on the right at thepany?”


    Upon finishing her words, Amanda realized she could only ask such unimportant questions as she had


    not idea what to say.


    Elias replied impassively, “I’m fine, and I’m dealing with everything. It’s quite troublesome, so I’ll have


    less. time to visit Aiden. Please take good care of him during this period.”


    His voice sounded so distant that it was terrifying.


    It was as if he was treating her like she was an outsider, even though they used to be a married couple.


    “Yeah, sure. It’s what I’m supposed to do.” Amanda had no idea how else she could reply to him.


    Elias put on a faint smile and opened the door to leave.


    When Aiden heard the door closing, he quickly left the bathroom. It seemed that he was indeed


    avoiding Elias.


    On the other hand, a doubtful Selina approached Amanda and asked curiously, “Your ex-husband was


    acting strangely. It’s as if he’s no longer interested in you. He said he was only here to see the child.


    Does it mean he doesn’t love you anymore?”


    Amanda looked dazedly at the door. “Perhaps he thinks that his grandfather’s death has something to
