Chapter 704 He Is Faithful To Me
A smile crept across Wesley''s face when he sensed her fidgeting and realized she was edging closer
to him. A clear sign that she was staking out her territory. He lowered his head and nted a gentle
kiss on her forehead.
The kiss wasforting for ir, but heartbreaking for Patty.
She had been with Wayne for more than a year. He had never given her that kind offorting kiss.
In fact, she had never seen him kiss anyone. The harem that Wayne kept all knew that he could take a
woman home, but he hated being kissed.
As time passed, some bolder women would try kissing his face, but never on the lips.
All of a sudden, many things made sense to Patty. People said Wayne was a yer and had slept with
tons of women.
Many women even boasted of how good he was in bed. But they never mentioned details.
So...that only meant one thing. Wayne''s flirtation and promiscuous ways were only a pretense.
''Then what exactly happened on our wedding night?'' Patty''s face went pasty at that thought. She
hadn''t even seen his face that night. He insisted onplete darkness. Was that even him in her bed
that night?
Patty couldn''t bear the pain anymore. She shouted in tears, "I know your real name''s Wesley. How
could you treat me that way? My grandpa and I were so good to you. But you killed him! I loved you,
but you put my parents in jail!"
Wesley looked at her through cold eyes. "They deserved it."
"Seriously? How could you even say that? What about you? You toyed with me and treated me like dirt.
When will karma catch up with you?" Patty marched up to him as she spat those words. She was
shaking from crying. She had never seen him so unfeeling.
"Toyed with you?" Wesley asked. "Did I ever say I liked you?" Before they got their marriage license, he
told her in no uncertain terms that he didn''t like her.
But Patty was head over heels in love with him. She told him that as long as they were married, nothing
else mattered.
Now, she didn''t know what to say. She thought that once they were married, she''d win his heart. She
was that good. She was also naive.
But she didn''t know that he had already given his heart to someone else. To the woman in his arms
right now.
"Wayne, you already destroyed my family. Please don''t leave me. You''re all I have. Don''t you know how
much I love you?" she sobbed. She ignored ir and wrapped her arms around his waist.
But ir was not just a passive observer. She was getting angrier and angrier by the minute.
She squirmed out of Wesley''s embrace and pulled Patty off of him. "Leave him alone! This is Wesley,
not Wayne! He loves me, not you!" ir dered.
"You''re lying!" Patty shouted tearfully. "He loves me! He promised me we would see the world, go
bungee jumping, shop overseas for the finest, most expensive things. That we''d drown in designer
clothes, high-end jewelry and handbags. What did he promise you?"
ir couldn''t respond to that, because he''d never said those things to her.
Wesley had promised her none of that. He hadn''t even promised to tour Y City with her. Never mind
travelling the world.
That wasn''t him.
He wasn''t the type of guy to promise that. ir would be frightened to tears on a roller coaster ride.
That was scary enough. So bungee jumping was right out.
Wesley had never mentioned anything like a shopping spree in foreign countries.
He only asked her to wait for him.
Patty''s remarks stirred up guilt in Wesley''s heart. He realized that he had never promised ir any of
that. That he had promised Patty the moon, and ir almost nothing.
He extended his hand, trying to pull her back into his arms. But ir pushed him away. "Back off, bitch!
He''s Wesley, not Wayne! No, he never promised me any of that. All he did was ask me to wait. He
never told me I''d be waiting for two years. But he came back for me. He''s mine. He''s a good and true
man. Faithful to me."
Wesley looked at ir affectionately. She cared. She remembered everything he told her.
ir continued, "As for sightseeing... To be frank, he didn''t even promise to take me around the city.
But he took me to Happy Valley, when I told him I wanted to go. He waited for me patiently, even
though that wasn''t his idea of a good time. He even rode the rollercoaster with me. When I got tired,
he''d carry me on his back and run around Happy Valley. When I was mad, he''d buy me flowers and
apologize. He ate the food I couldn''t finish. He would peel freshly roasted, hot chestnuts for me,

because they taste better that way. My pic is on his lock screen. We visited his family during Spring
Festival. There''s a girl whose parents saved his life. He''d blow her off because he knew I hated her. I
can go on. He''s done a lot for me. That''s love. But what about Wayne? Did he ever give you a
piggyback ride? Did he ever finish your meals for you? He promised you the world? Did he ever follow
through with it? Is that love? God, you''re stupid."
ir was right. Wayne had never eaten Patty''s half-eaten food. Nor had he ever given her a piggyback
ride. And she never met his parents.
All he ever did for her was make some hollow promises.
For a moment, the parking lot was very quiet. Wesley squeezed ir''s hand. He originally intended to
shut Patty down himself. But right now he changed his mind. He wanted to hear what ir had to say,
because she had never said this to him before.
And ir didn''t let him down. Seeing that Patty had no intention of leaving, she continued, "Buying the
most expensive clothes and bags is too shallow for Wesley. Of course he didn''t promise me that. The
biggest difference between Wesley and Wayne is that Wesley doesn''t make promises. He is a doer.
Actually I don''t need his promises, because he already bought me those fancy clothes and bags. I have
everything I ever wanted. Before he left for his mission, he bought me so many bags, I could swap out
purses every month for a year."
Patty stood in stunned silence. She felt that maybe ir was right. That her marriage to Wayne had
been a lie. ir had a look of smug satisfaction on her face.
"Most importantly, I was his first and he was mine. Do you have any idea how wonderful that feels?"
ir never regretted giving her virginity to Wesley, even though it had started unpleasantly.
Patty couldn''t say she understood the amazing feeling ir was talking about, because she hadn''t
experienced anything like that. There hadn''t been a man in her life who cared about her enough to do
any of those things ir talked about.
Before Wayne, she fooled around with many men. So many that she was too proud to ask any of them
to do anything like this.
Wesley couldn''t help smiling when he heard what ir said. He''d chosen the right woman. He was
happy to be back, and would give her a child.
