Ren’s POV
I am not proud that I had lost control. Saphira’s Uncle kept pushing and pushing me to my breaking
point, I growled, and it seemed only to amuse him. “O look. I made the Dog angry. Listen here when
I get out. of here, not you or anyone else will be able to keep her from me. She belongs to me, and I
wille for what’s mine. “That was all it took. I didn’t care anymore. NO ONE would threaten my
MATE. I ripped the cell door off its hinges, fully intending on doing the same to his head. I was in
such a rage that I didn’t see him pull the syringe out until it was toote. He was mere inches from
me when something hit my chest, pushing me back. I nced down and realized it was Saphira.
How in the hell had she gotten between us so fast?
It felt like a dream as I flew backward through the air. How.. how had she pushed me back with
enough force to send me flying back over 20 feet. I hit the table with a heavy thud. The pain was
instant and intense. The edge of the table was jagged, and it had sliced into my side like butter. I
mind-linked my Father for help. “I am on my way; Ren, hold on!” I rolled over to my side and got to
my knees. Within seconds my Father was down the stairs and by my side. “Go to Saphira, forget
me help her” “Son, I think she has it handled” I looked to my Father and then to my Mate. She was
standing directly in front of her Uncle. Somehow she had taken the syringe from him and had it in
her hand. “GIVE THAT BACK TO ME NOW, you little freak,” he yelled. “No.” “What did you just say

started, it was gone. She removed her hand and backed away. I looked down to my side only to find
