Chapter 46: Troublesome dude

Chapter 46: Troublesome dude

In the end, Terry was surprised to see the final product after just a couple of hours... he saw that the material didn''t need much time to rest during the process of forging, but he still was surprised.

Greysteel Pole - Lv 01 (00/20 EXP) (Umon)

    Attack Power: 05

    Defense: 05

    Magic Defense: 05

    Mana: 20/20

    Durability: 10/10

"This was fast, and this isn''t half bad," Terry said while nodding in satisfaction. "Still, I can''t understand how the metal needed so little time to rest during the forging process."

"I can exin it, sir," A semi-grayhaired man said after he stepped forward. "The rare material exhibited extraordinary malleability, meaning it could be shaped and molded with rtive ease. Its molecr structure allowed it to be manipted quickly, reducing the time required for forging and refining. We could swiftly shape the material into the desired form, expediting the weapon-making process. Also, the rare material boasted an unusually high melting point, allowing it to withstand intense heat without losing its integrity. This enabled the cksmiths to work at higher temperatures, elerating the forging process. The material could be rapidly heated and cooled withoutpromising its structural strength, expediting the cooling and tempering stages."

"I see... what is your name?" Terry asked, visibly satisfied. "I guess Vanessa was being cautious with these materials since she didn''t know how many she could get."

"My name is rk, sir," The gray-haired cksmith said.

"rk, you are now appointed to be the leader of the cksmiths," Terry dered. "I will talk directly with you when asking for certain things and to receive the report of the progress of the same things. You can call me Guild Master or just Terry; I don''t mind."

    "Yes, guild master," rk said.

"For now, I want you to develop something for me that eventually will be used by everyone in the guild," Terry exined. "I wanted to make you all start slowly, but we might not be able to take some cautious steps. After this pole, I would usually ask for a spear, but instead of that, I will ask you to make some forearm guards. Make five prototypes of them; you can diversify their shape and utilities; I will decideter what will be the best for our goals. How many days do you think you will need to make them? Considering that you will only have to work during the day."

"We can work as much as needed, guild master," rk said. "We want to protect our city by doing whatever we can."

That was nice and all, but Terry could tell that Reba hired them, promising to pay them for hours worked. He was fine with that, he didn''t want to turn anyone into ves, but if they wanted to work as much as they wanted and they were being paid enough for it, then it was fine.

In the end, Terry left after he heard that the prototypes would be ready in two days. That was very good... he couldn''t have asked for more.

The pole actually had more potential than the sword, probably because the cksmiths didn''t try to be cheap with the materials. In any case, Terry decided to level up that pole as soon as possible since the sun was setting already.

"How are they?" Reba asked when Terry showed up.

"They are good enough," Terry replied. "For now, they won''t make weapons for everyone, but soon things will be interesting. You guys can go and rest now."

"Guild master, can I stay and work with you?" A guy that was a bit younger than Terry asked, and then Reba facepalmed.

The kid stands at an average height, and he has a youthful frame exuding an energetic and lively aura. His face was characterized by soft features that held a touch of mischief. His hazel eyes, with their warm and expressive gaze, seem to sparkle with abination of curiosity and enthusiasm.

Terry could tell that he wouldn''t get along with the kid... he seemed a bit too naive, and he didn''t look like he came from a simr background as Terry and Reba.

"Sorry, Terry," Reba said after she sighed. "I told this moron not to bother you, but it seemed that he needs to be disciplined a bit more."

"It is fine," Terry said once he recalled that he needed to interact more with his guild members. "I am not nning on doing anything special tonight; I will only kill the enemies from a distance. Thus, there won''t be any excitement waiting for you here."

"It is fine, sir," The kid said. "I just want to see you fighting up close. My name is Juan, by the way."

Terry could only think that there was something wrong with the kid, it seemed that Juan admired him a bit, and that definitely was bad since Terry didn''t even admire himself... he tends to focus on satisfying his goal and ego instead of helping others and cooperating with them, even though that was without a doubt, the best option.

"Alright... you can stay here for a couple of hours," Terry said. "You will need to return to your usual working time tomorrow, and that isn''t negotiable."

"Yes sir," Juan said and then saluted.

Reba left while shrugging, already imagining that things would get noisy in the area. Still, in the end, Terry just made the kid stay in the front line while he used Icicle Bow to kill the enemies from a distance. It didn''t take long for him to see why Juan had that attitude. The kid had a very unusual trait that made even that troublesome type of monster have a hard time dealing with him...

Terry recalled reading the documents that Reba had prepared about their elite group and was surprised to recall that the kid only awakened his trait after ten runs in the portal.
