Chapter 448
Alice gracefully wiped the corners of her mouth with a napkin and stood up. She looked at Esther, who
was holding the USB, and said, “Ms. Quill, why waste your wonderful life on a man? Cast away the
unworthy. Live your own life.”
“You’re right,” Esther said.
Alice blew Esther a kiss and shed her a coquettish nce. “Good luck.”
Esther personally escorted Alice to her car.
Esther borrowed aptop from one of the servants and inserted the USB. As soon as she opened the
drive, a video file popped up. It was the footage that had been used to convict her in court years ago,
showing ‘her’ disconnecting Thomas’ oxygen mask.
The video initially yed at normal speed. It was noticeably slowed down on the second viewing,
particrly at critical moments. Although Esther had previously observed problems with the video, a
sense of deep gratitude welled in her as she saw Alice’s version.
Alice’s motivations or intentions in obtaining the video were beside the point. What mattered was that it
served to vindicate Esther.
“Esther, what are you watching?” Xara, still yawning, settled down beside her.
Esther turned slightly and observed Xara’s tired face, marked by dark circles under her eyes. Did you
not sleepst night?”
“I usually need sleeping pills to get any rest. The jetg and a new bed…” Xara yawned again.” It’s
pure torture.”
“Do you want to go back to sleep?” Esther asked, concerned.

Xara shook her head firmly. “I’m not going to sleep. I have to go with Steffan toplete the adoption
procedures for Twinkle and Sunshine today.”
“Xara, I really appreciate it.”
Esther contemted the worst-case scenario. She even thought about fleeing the church with Twinkle
and Sunshine, but she was reluctant to risk her safety unless it was absolutely necessary. What would
happen to Felix, Twinkle, and Sunshine if she ended up in prison again?
“Esther, don’t worry. While Steffan isn’t particrly significant to me, he holds considerable influence
out there. People show him respect,” Xara replied, yawning continuously.
Before Esther could respond, a cold snort emanated from behind them. “Xara, your bad habits seem to
have intensified during our five years apart.”
Xara and Esther turned in surprise, finding Steffan standing there.
Esther said with a hint of awkwardness, “Mr. Sanderson, Xara was actually giving you apliment.”
“Whoplimented him?” Xara denied it outright and nced at Steffan, who wore a navy blue suit.
“He was eavesdropping on our private conversation.”
Esther tugged at Xara’s clothes slightly, trying to get her attention.
Xara nced at Esther, her eyes questioning what was wrong.
“Here Xara, have your breakfast.”
Xara was totally disoriented fromck of sleep.
“Breakfast? We should head to the church right now toplete the adoption procedures. There’s no
time to lose!”
