Chapter 508
"Red." Sherilyn answered, not really knowing why, but she genuinely liked the color.
Gilbert remembered, her puffer jackets, her coats, they were all red. And indeed, red suited her well.
"Red, huh," Gilbert muttered to himself, "Got it."
On such a calm night, he found himself thinking about marriage.
His and Sherilyn''s first shot at marriage hadn''t been all that great.
He had mentioned marriage to her before, but Sherilyn hadn''t agreed.
Looking back, he could see his fault...
Marriage, such a sacredmitment, and he had broached the subject too lightly, not giving it the gravity it deserved.
This time would be different.
He would n everything meticulously, starting with the proposal. Nothing could be left to chance.
Sherilyn loved red. So, the engagement ring would have to be a red diamond, her favorite.
At noon, after grabbing lunch from the cafeteria, Sherilyn brought back a portion for Reba.
"Thanks a lot." Reba said with a smile.
"No problem."
It was Reba''s first day back at work. Her injuries were mostly healed, except for the bruises around her eyes, which hadn''tpletely faded yet.
Worried about the curious nces and whispers from coworkers, Reba chose to stay in her office.
Luckily, she had Sherilyn to count on.
Reba opened the lunch box, "Looks like a good meal today."
Sherilyn unscrewed a bottle of yogurt, cing it next to her, "Your favorite, blueberry vor."
"Thank you, hehe."
"Reba, Reba White!"
Outside, a man''s voice called out for Reba, anxious and impatient.
That voice...
Reba''s face turned pale in an
instant, and she stood up quicket
grabbing Sherilyn''s hand anxiously, "It''s Eddy! He''s found me, he''se to the dancepany!"
Sherilyn scoffed, "He wasn''t there for you were injured and in

Before she could finish, the door was forcefully pushed open!
Both women were startled and looked up.
Eddy, with a grim expression, strode towards Reba, grabbing her wrist harshly, "Finally found you! Reba White, where have you been thesest few days?"
Reba bit her lip, her chin held high, "Where I''ve been is none of your business."
"Reba White!"
Something in his words seemed to trigger Eddy, who suddenly flew into a rage.
"Have you no shame? A married woman disappearing for days on end, tell me! Who were you messing around with?"
What?
Reba went pale and shook as she spoke, "Is that really how you see me, Eddy?"
"Are you not?" Eddy shouted, veins bulging on his forehead, "Leaving your husband on your wedding night for another man, you''re the first!"
Reba froze, unable to argue.
Tears silently fell, "Eddy, let''s get a divorce."
The atmosphere turned abruptly silent.
Eddy seemed not to have heard her clearly, "What did you say?"
"I said..." Reba took a deep breath, mustering courage, and repeated, "Let''s get a divorce... Ah..."
Before she could finish, Eddy raised his hand and pped her hard!
Sherilyn gasped in shock, rushing forward to pull him away, "What are you doing? Let her go! Let go!"
"And who are you?" Eddy turned around, his eyes fierce. "Mind your own business! Asking for trouble!" With a swift motion, he shoved Sherilyn away.
At the same time, he grabbed Reba by the hair, "Divorce? What right do you have to talk to me about divorce?"
